Thank you, ser! Absolutely good words. It is about filming and not just what camera you use! Camera does matter. But nowadays, there is so many good options, that. It realy comes down more to skill... Or just will!!! actualy...
Just bought 5dmk2 for 250 euros. Absofu*king lutely worth it. I still didnt shoot in raw with magic lantern, but video looks amazing already out of the camera. Photos aswell... But there is an option to do 1920 raw vido with ML!!! Wich is amazing!!
I got my feet wet with the bmpcc og and i was mind blown that a 1080p camera could have such a beautiful deep image. Then i learned all the movies it was used on an again 🤯. Later that year i purchased the bmcc 2.5k when it was released and ive been using those 2 cameras ever since they came out. Im thinking of getting an ursa pro g2 soon while its on sale.
Awesome video, I took a lot from it. One question: What do you mean at 16:31 by saying that the super scaled stringouts don't have to be optimized anymore? I mean yeah, if I render them with DNxHR HQ codec they're optimized string outs. Did I get that right? I think I missed some info. Thank you!
You're right - camera is not the most important thing. BUT... Apart from skills, I think the lenses are the 2nd most important matter. What lenses did you use in these shots?
After watching a few videos on this subject, I was fortunate enough to come across this one. It is the most concise, complete and to the point explanation of how to do this successfully. I have one question for the author: are we notified for future beta versions or do we need to keep checking the da Vinci website?
That doesn't make the video irrelevant - they can still be bought via some retailers or used and this video was posted a long time ago. Sorry, but I'm not Angelbird, plea email your concerns to them.
I got a 5D MkII about a year ago when my third 5D classic died. I loved the simplicity of the classic, but, honestly, the handling improvements and the better pixel-count have improved my experiences. I've never shot video with it, but you've tempted me sorely. (I also have an Olympus EM-1 MkII which is a cinematic wonder by comparison.) Thanks for speaking up about this stuff.
I shot on a big documentary with 5d ii that won numerous awards, watched it on numerous big screens in film festivals and it still looks good, I had the cheapest camera by at least $50000 and the editors said they went to my shots first for every take. Helped launch my career. With Magic lantern it's even better but that hd 8 bit beast has a special place in my hart
Thank you so much for this! I'd been putting up with this issue for so long, but the video is over 20 minutes now, so it would be way too impractical to keep dragging clips like I was. Btw: I apologize. It looks like I posted a comment complaining a long time ago because I ended up here for a different issue entirely. I had become incredibly frustrated trying to find answers for this program as I was trying to learn as I went. This was perfect and incredibly helpful. Instand sub!
It's okay as an inexpensive monitor. However with 8-bit only, no recording/time indicators and no 4k 60 means I can't use it for an serious production work. It's a shame the Pro version doesn't have these either because I'd gladly pay a bit more for those features.
on the website for angel bird, it says end of life. i also looked into B&H and they discontinued them. Do they not make them anymore due to patent reasons, faulty issues? Just curious because i'm just now discovering your videos
My 5d Mark II is still kicking butt. Photography has never been about having the most advanced and newest equipment and has always been about what the photographer does with the equipment they have! Bravo!
5:34 I like color coding, but i dont like using someone else’s color codes. So maybe you and me we can just use 3 rolls of different colored neon electrical tape. Then you can use a hole puncher to tap out a circle in whatever color then apply a sticker which wont wear down like paper and you get what you asked for here. Or just cut a 1/2” square and apply on the thinnest part of the card where you can see it in your card wallet or however you organize it. OWC computing just released a 480 GB card with DOUBLE THE DATA RATE for $320, or a 960GB for $520. 1,700 write speeds! Can this drive just live in a Sony A7IV and when i use a 20gb USB-C cable to my macbook can I get the 800+ read and writes without having to pull the card out and put it in a clunky card reader (the camera body is the card reader❤)? I had the idea that this could be better than carrying around SSD-USBc drives at 500-1000Mbps, this card living in the camera could now do that. Do people using CF-EXPRESS cards use the cars as a WORKING edit drive too instead of just capturing and offloading? Thanks @EntrNmHre
I’m still using it today. I’m on the lookout to upgrade to a mirrorless, but I came to assure and appreciate what a workhorse my lovely little camera has been and will continue to be.
I was returning to DSLR photography after a brief stint with Mirrorless and no doubt Mirrorless is fantastic the sharpness that you can get with some of the mirrorless cameras and lenses is unbelievable but I wasn’t enjoying my photography and having sold all my Canon bodies i bit the bullet admitted the mistake and started again and I looked for a Canon 5D all the ones that I could find we’re not very good but I came across a fiveD mark two for sale in the north of Scotland for £299 with a low count of less than 1000 shutter actuations I snapped it up i was using some of my EF lenses adapted to my Sony Mirrorless so I kept the EF lenses namely 85 mil 1.8 28 mil 1.8 and an old 35 to 70 from the film era and a 40 mil pancake and I’ve fallen in love with photography all over again
