Thank you for showing how to use this Taiyaki pan over an electric coil stove ! I didn't think it would be possible until you successfully demonstrated it was possible. Now I will order this pan. This will save me money over the pricey electric pan versions.

If you spray the slices with oil before air frying they will brown nicely & taste better.

You haven't mentioned the benefit of having low carbs. That is for weight loss, which many people are looking for.

Just don't try to bite the star anise, I don't know why, but it taste like soap to me. But if you mixed it to the broth or any beverage, it taste like it supposed to me, delicious. Thanks for this recipe :)

holly crap, that is not honey, that is syruo, glucose, or whatever other bs. Bees honey is dense and high viscosity, flowing slowly goey...and not a liquid like the one in the video. They may sell it as honey, but it's a scam, defrauding the customer that buys this wattery thing.

I just had some of that from our local H-Mart and also fell in love with it and I believe they also used sugar syrup. I'm so glad to have found your video. I can also get the square bread from our local Southeast Asian grocery but will also look for a recipe on making that bread in our bread machine. Like you, I plan on making it for my wife who comes from Indonesia. By the way your daughter is cute. Thanks again for the tutorial.

I just tried these for the first time. The texture is definitely a bit strange and not for everyone, but after a couple tries I think it may become more popular in my meals. The first time I tried it I rinsed it and tossed it in with chicken broth, brown mushrooms, yellow onion, spinach, imitation crab, soy sauce, 1 hard boiled egg, ginger and garlic. The smell of the noodles was still overpowering to me so my taste was skewed, but next time I'll be prepared and I may try boiling for 8 min like one of the other commenters suggested.

I tried doing it and it was really good. What I did was I fried them in oil first but until it was a lighter brown and then continued them in them in the air fryer. It was able to take out a lot of excess oil

Ooh, thanks. I was wondering about whether if that can bridge the gap between the 2 frying techniques. Obviously oil frying = flavor, but also too much can make me nauseous. Especially when the oil taste is strong, and in deep fried bread that's usually a given.
