I made Mian Bao Xia for my wife. This is a Chinese fried shrimp sandwich. It's anything but healthy haha. Enjoy this treat with another meal, don't eat 10 of them like I did, just 1 or 2 will satisfy your cravings :) ! For those who do not like greasy food, try the air fried version :)
The Knife I use in almost every video: amzn.to/2Kv5LqV
Ingredients:
8 slices of white bread
350 g raw shrimp
1 tbsp potato starch
1 tbsp lemon juice
1/2 tsp chicken stock powder
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/4 tsp salt
1 egg white
Vegetable or Canola Oil for Frying!
*Garnish: Chopped Parsley
Deep Fried:
Step 1: Cut the edges of the bread to make a square and cut each slice into 4 pieces.
Step 2: Smash the shrimp (Or cut them finely) and chop them until they are almost paste like. (You want some texture, so don't chop too much and don't use a blender)
Step 3: Add the potato starch, lemon juice, chicken stock powder, pepper, salt and egg white. Mix thoroughly.
Step 4: Assemble the shrimp sandwiches
Step 5: Heat up the oil to 130°C (266°F) and fry one time. (Make sure you flip the sandwich over to brown each side evenly. Remove from oil.
Step 6: Heat up the oil to 180°C (356°F) and fry for another few minutes or until nice and golden brown. (Don't allow them to burn!)
Step 7: Remove from oil and serve right away. ENJOY! :)
Air Fry:
Step 1: The first 4 steps are the same as the deep fried one.
Step 2: Brush the sandwich on both sides with oil.
Step 3: Put them in the air fryer for 7-10 minutes, and flip after about 5 minutes.
Step 4: Keep an eye on the as each air fryer is a bit different.
Step 5: Enjoy!
Sauce: There are a variety of sauces you can make to go with this.
I mixed mayonnaise, honey, mustard, sriracha, pepper, sugar and salt.
Try your favourite sauce for any kind of fried food :)
