If we are talking about buying an original non modified OG psp then yes absolutely. and if its the afternarket shell its one of the best options out there
The Solution is looking for a Problem 😂😂, man i really appreciate you trying it but that original charging port is already 360 Rotatable , much reliable than 2 sided usb C,
Ughhhhh only a couple minutes in and I'm in painnnn, I had just bought a Japanese red ps vita 1000 model for only $120 and was completely shocked it was in box, with manuals sealed, and in PERFECT CONDITION. It hurt my soul to see that packaging, but the console itself is a warcrime. so sad to see its one of the most beautiful handhelds out there tbh
I have hoarded a few older GPU's and need to clean them good but don't have a gallon of alcohol and wasn't sure about using water because of minerals? Glad I ran into this showing it's ok to do. Tech Yes city gives all his boards soap n water bath scubs too and uses "Multi Purpose spray" which I can't find in the US but WD-40 is the same? I wasn't 100% sure about that either! Cool. time for me to get to work thanks!
Water was because i was dealing with coke syrup lol but i gave it a proper blow away with my datavac WD-40 was the wrong thing to use, I stopped it because it was pointless, oil against sugar. Best to use contact cleaner similar to rubbing alcohol i didnt explain that in the video
@@TotalKommando - Thanks for clarifying that. My cards have no damage from any spilled soda incidents so will try WD-40 anyway. I have 2 cards that are in pristine looking condition but I think they were used for mining and were run hot and I think they may need to have the bios checked and possibly reflashed to game bios again. They both show display and go to windows but one crashes to black screen and restarts the PC and the other has pink screen and artifacting.
Honestly if the original PSP's charger wasn't so long, I would probably do this mod. I just see no point for myself who normally just plays at home and doesn't mind plugging it in when it dies lol. You made the mod look super easy tho!
I agree, I honestly have no problem with the original cable & port, much prefer it over microusb, I got plenty of spares, battery is long enough to not care for my use, its just a nice have type of thing of a project lol
Yea ended up being more complicated than expected lol You could get the little adapter but you will have to remember to take it with you at all times, could be lost I may give the side USB idea another attempt for the sake of simplicity, but its placement is not optimal.
9:51 For your 2nd soldering guide, please experiment on trying to swap that mini-usb to usb-c. Ever since I got a psp decades ago, I feel having the cord at the bottom hinders while playing. If the USB-C is at the top, you could solder the data lines + power from the bottom as well.
@@TotalKommando LOL first time hearing those exists, but yea I don't think anyone will use any of those ever again since phones exists. Please do! I will follow your footsteps since you will be the first ever on youtube/internet that does it. I'm not brave enough.
Yea you can adapt the methods learned here to use on other models. The only thing you will have to figure out is where to exactly cut to end with a clean result. I will have shorter quick videos for other models once I do them.
I mention in this video, my goal is to keep original function, but yes you can do it, I just don't like how it looks and requires heavy modification to the case. You can use what you learn in this video to do it anywhere else you want.
Yes, you can do this too (you can even find a video on this modification on RU-vid), but it doesn’t look very good. Therefore, the option in this video is one of the most optimal
Share Your Mods Here: discord.gg/VB6ruBEnsm Post Notes / FAQ: - I opted for the bottom location because I want to keep original function, and because it looks cleaner - You can use what you learn in this video, to do it anywhere else on the PSP - Yes I will have a video on how to do it with other models in the future - I will be trying out the replacement of the Mini USB port and / or the IR sensor. - It's not perfect in the video as its cracked slightly because it was done during the experimental phase to showcase the best way to get it centered Plans: Next Mod Videos Will Have To Be HDMI & Battery Testing Video ( Going To Need Full Focus & All My PSPs Running 24/7 ) In the meantime I will probably try to upload something lite. o_0
Thanks for the comparison. Unpopular opinion: I prefer 1000 stock. In terms of build quality, it has a premium look and feel. Regarding picture quality, it has more natural colors and a softer image. 3000 has the option to select between normal and wide color space in settings, which is good, but the picture looks a bit edgy and jaggy compared to 1000 for me. Never owned 2000, GO or Street models, so can't say anything about them.
The one you see in this video, is an adapted original 3DS thumbstick. You can watch the video for it here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-uOfA6329VlM.html
