Generally, i don't trust any of these new turbo cars. They are putting them on their for fuel economy with no regard for engine life longevity. Most people put them on for HP and at that point, you aren't longing for engine life.
My wife has one. Today the engine light went on. I told her I would run codes when she gets home. She left work and the car shook hard at a light. It drove fine onto the freeway and the car went into powder reduction mode. $350 tow later now I have to figure out what is wrong. This video doesn't give me hope😅😅
Well for as much as people say these are great. I recently watched a video talking about how the equinox motors should get their oil changed earlier then the system recommended 10k. The video said they will sludge and plug oil pathways. Ours didn't go into limp mode but would studder during anything heavily than mild acceleration. I like the idea but it only works on passenger car tires. Those run 32-35 psi on average. Where low profile and truck tire vary depending on the size of the tire. There isn't really a standard on those tires. The video would quickly become confusing. If there is a good way to do it, i will work it out and make one.
Well, i did this job long enough ago, i don't remember, but sometimes other parts are included for changes in model. Ex: earlier model used an o-ring on a section of the gasket. The water pump may work on another engine also, and that engine may use the o-ring. Especially when it comes to engine gaskets. If you buy an engine gasket set, you will get a ton of extra gaskets. Hopefully, that helps answer your question.
If you are talking about wiring it straight to the battery, that is because it is constantly pulling power to run the led inside the car when you are not using the lights and no power is being created by running the alternator. Cars run on 12v and the small amount of battery use won't effect the car until the battery starts to gets weak but you are pushing the battery to become weak by putting a constant electrical draw on it. By putting it on switched power the source only comes on when the key/start switch is on. No constant power draw.
I just bought a used civic literally yesterday and noticed the steering wheel being very stiff and any minor movements makes the car jerk. Only thing is the car has almost 80k miles so I’m afraid it’s out of warranty. Would you happen to know at what mileage the warranty expires?
I'm pretty sure most companies are 3 years 36,000 miles. Very few companies do more except warranty the drive train for longer. I would figure you are probably out of warranty unless you bought if from a lot that extended the warranty or is covering you longer. In some states you have 3 day right of recision but they normally try to get you to sign away that right when you buy the car. You can always bring it in to the dealership continuously for the same issue which puts it under lemon law but not having a warranty you will pay for each dealer inspection.
@@SKPcars yes I have an appointment Monday coming up but I’m just afraid they’re going to tell me nothings wrong with it or that I’m out of warranty and I’ll have to pay to have it fixed out of pocket. It’s 160 each time for a diagnostic and I hate wasting money especially if this is something that is happening to so many other people and I’m peeved that I bought this car and it’s already having a costly issue
@UltimateSimsLover13 i completely understand. Hopefully, you will get lucky and it will just stop doing it. Which is what has happened with my car so far. The only thing the dealership did to mine was recalibrate the forward camera and that did nothing. A month or 2 passed, and it went away.
There are lots of opinions on these things. When if come to the fram the paper ends aren't the best but they make half the worlds filters so even if it doesn't say fram. It might be one. We did a video opening them and i would probably recommend wix now. As for the oil, in most cases, any major brand is really no different than any other. They standards are so high that there is little they can do to change their oils. The only ones i would avoid are penzoil and quaker state. Penzoil owns them both now and penzoil has always been made from recycled oil.
It still hasn't been done. It got put on the back burner for project that make us some cash and so far most of those are still in my yard. It will be coming when my wife wants her truck and pushes all the other cars out of line.
Those are absolutely random fixes for a random problem that wasn’t explained. I’m not convinced it’s junk. How do you adjust an unadjustable wastegate?
I love questions like this because you don't care what was done. You just want to tell me how right you were after i explain. Everything i did, we made a video for we were chasing a fuel/air issue for an acceleration problem. Once it got to the turbo, i don't have tools for that i sent it to a shop. The guy was a chevy specialist acquaintance, that I'm familiar with his work because i don't let just anyone touch my cars. He smoked the tubro system and replaced the cooler. Removed the wastegate and adjusted the arm because it wasn't opening properly. Shortly after he put it back together and ran it. His buddy came by to drop off parts, a chevy specialist from the dealership. He spotted oil in the exhaust and looked at few other things and said the motor was bad. Long explaination and now I'm sure there is an overblown explanation as to why i don't know what im doing. Oh it's a short i have 1 minute to say as much as possible and this video is old and this car has been scrap for a while now.
If you have cylinder 1 at tdc, when you pull the cover on the other bank, it should look the same. If not, your timing is off and your engine may have other problems, if it ran that way. There is no tdc on both sides. Tdc is when cylinder one is to the top and the load is off all the engine components.
hey man did u find a cable to connect it lights , i have done what u have done but i dont wanna deal with closing it everytime i get off and open it back up everytime i start the car ?
There are a few things you can do. Keep bringing it in for the same issue builds a chain of repairs to lemon law it. Tell them what it's doing and explain it seems to be related to the forward camera not the steering. If they keep ignoring the problem, lemon law it. You can always go up, message honda, not the dealership tell them you are having an issue and the dealer isn't working with you. They will normally intervene because they have a reputation to uphold. Everything from there just get more dramatic so hopefully, that helps.
My '18 Redline is pushing 100k, and my only failures have been a coil pack (10 minute fix, and yes I did the whole set) and the lower turbo/charge hose blew apart at the clamp (another easy fix). I have several tech friends at GM dealers (I'm retired from the industry), and they all recommended the 2.0. I think you just got a bad one, or a problem that is above the abilities of your techs. :(
I would think it was probably just a bad one but at the time we knew 2 other people with 2.0s that blew the motors. The chevy tech told my buddy they had 6 bad ones at the dealership at the time. I lost a lot of trust in chevy over this but we like our Honda Passport now. Thanks for commenting.
This is a pretty specific question and i don't have the best answer. I believe it should. I believe when you get to that sensor, you have to hit the ok on the dash to skip past it. If it isn't that you press the remote buttons again. It has been a while since i have done it. Or of course, use a hand calibration tool and you can do whatever one you want. I hope that helps.

Thanks for the info! My CS 2520 is in the same spot. I had a chunk of dried clay come up over the tire and sheared the tank side of the filter off. What pain. It seems like a vulnerable placment, particularly with how close the line is to some of the linkages.
Yes, they crammed a lot into a little tractor. We already did a video on a cut hydraulic line because one was placed too close to one of the pedals. That filter isn't in a great spot but not a lot you can do to protect it.
I would guess it has power windows it's a touring. Are you trying to buy my brother's car? I don't know how many miles are on it and as far as i know it's not for sale.
This depends on your automotive skill level. I would consider this job pretty simple but you may not. It took me under an hour and I've never done it on this car before.
I tried to explain in the video. There is no way to show it. It is a blind change out. You remove the 1 bolt. Rotate the cover off the hold down flange. Then, pull it away from the transmission. There is an o-ring that helps keep it in place. Once the cap is removed, you can pull the filter out. To install do the reverse.

I was hoping to be at 5k before the channel hits 5 years in may of next year but that is a stretch. I have 1.5 and same I've replaced maf sensor, battery, alternator, now brake booster and it needs new ac because there's an electrical issue that took out that and my cigarette lighter
I was gonna respond with other stuff but i got side tracked by Cigarette lighter. Your car has a cigarette lighter in it? Not the just the port an actual lighter? We didn't have an electrical issues ours was the engine.
@@DragoonEnder I think this took about 3 hours with filming. My friend who owns this car is notoriously late. I think he got there within 2 hours of it getting dark. I took advantage of the dark to show the lights working. It really isn't a difficult job, even for someone with no experience in cars.

As far as i know, there is no relearn for these. This could be a few different problems. The cam sensor could be bad. The cam could be out of position to the chains causing a timing issue. Which would make sense since you have the p219a. Or you may have installed the wrong cam the numbers have to be the same because they made a 3.6L that would have a different clock position on the cam. The cam part number is a important on this. Hopefully that helps. Fastest fixes are position and sensor.
Both but it most cases it for the metal. Some of the time, they are resold but there is less chance of getting caught if they don't resell them. The metals inside get melted down in bulk and cashed in.
This helped so much. I was missing the middle bracket but ended up finding it somewhere near one of the open gaps on the right. I had a jumpstart done earlier in the month. The oem battery lasted for <5 years in my case. I was able to get my 51R battery from Costco for $180. Some websites say that the gen 10 civic can take the H5 battery for certain models, which is incorrect for my own vehicle.
I have a 2019 2.0T LT, I bought it new and I haven't had any engine issues, and zero recalls. But, I take really good care of my vehicles. Idk what to tell you.

@autumncamacho3276 honestly your right, i don't know your tires, your car, what type of driving it does. There is literally no way for me to tell you what your pressure is supposed to be. I can teach, suggest and direct but anything after that is up to you. Best of luck.
U make that look way more difficult I seen a mechanic replace the bad rocker arm and all he did was loosen the bolts holding the rocker arms and pulled the nad rocker arm out at a angle replaced it and re tightened bolts at 84ft pounds
You can slip the rocker in and out if you caught it in time. You shouldn't even have loosen much of anything in there. The key is when you catch it. We had cam shaft damage. The whole setup needed to be replaced. Besides, there are other channels and other videos about this stuff. You don't have to do what we did. Thanks for watching.
If you are talking shop rate to repair. I don't know what book is on the job. I can guess, though. A shop will charge almost double the cost of parts. Plus, the labor time at between 100-200 an hour. I would say probably right around 1k plus or minus to do the job. Dealer would be more probably like 1500-2000. 1 day on a weekend and maybe $200 in parts to do it yourself. I have a 2022 honda civic sport. When I'm driving, the steering wheel Will nudge to ride or left for no Reason. I went to dealership and I said I needed new tires in the alignment.I did all that and it still nudging
So the issue we had was more like a hard spot that felt like you had to break through it to track the stearing. It's very small but would cause an over correction. Your issue sounds like there could be something wrong with the steering unit if it is pulling. As long as after the alignment, you didn't manage to curb it, which would throw the alignment back out. Alignment will only stay true if nothing has affected it.
This is one of those things people like to debate but the answer is pretty simple. Inflate to the recommended tire pressure. That pressure has built in room for heat and cold. They know tires expand and contract. That pressure is what it should be at for all seasons. The part people don't like to do it check it. Your tires and really everything in your car should be checked regularly. If you check your pressure about 1 time per month you will always have your pressure set at the recommended tire pressure, unless the tire has an issue. The air gained or lost from weather changes is negligible if it is monitored regularly. Really, does anyone do this? No. That doesn't mean you shouldn't.
Yeah that's the problem with these Chinese kits. They really don't care what you get but they are cheap. It worked out though, if you saw the short i did for the switch. It's done and works well... now. Haha, thanks for watching.
Cabin filter is for the ac system. It filters the outside air coming in before it enters the fan. It is not hyper critical but can become clogged causing ac and heater issues. It can also allow bad smells in and cause your fan to burn out prematurely if not changed. Think of a house air filter for the ac, kind of similar.
@@SKPcars the dealership I work at uses a product called Frigifresh when they change out that cabin filter and say it kills all mold and mildew spores. Do you ever use something like that?
@susanm129 Well, i am not in the business of selling cars but we used to use ozium to get the cigarette smell out of the vents of old cars. It is probably the same idea as lysol. I can't say that stuff works but it probably does. They make lots of products like that, that kill germs and mold. As long as the filter is in good shape and not full of debris. It would freshen up a filter.
