1 - Use only academic sources for my videos. 2 - List all my sources so people can read and discuss the evidence for themselves. 3 - Try explicitly mention when I'm giving my personal opinion.

You’d notice them. Indeed, they are our closest (known) relative among archaic hominids @ 99.7%. They are the only archaic group btw where we’ve been able to analyze DNA. But... look at the skill. Huge brow. HUGE eye socket. Eyes are way higher up on the face. Brain size slightly higher than modern humans, but it’s suggested the brain layout was optimized for visual processing.
Please please Leave contemporary politics out of your otherwise excellent videos. You say “modern Israel and Palestine.” There is no modern Palestine. It is a name given by imperial Rome to replace the name Judea and Israel. It was briefly used by the British empire for modern day Jordan and Israel. “Modern palestine” is a poltical movement started in the 1930’s by Hitler as part of his effort to defeat Britain. It was given political fiem as the PLO in 1964 by communist Soviet Union to further their imperial ambitions in the middle east. Its future is uncertain and its present is contested and controversial. E is no state by thus name and never has been. You are scrupulously factual in other matters. Injecting muddle east cinfli ts your videos is not appropriate.
Super exciting stuff! 💖 Though the thing about ground sloths and avocados seems to have a weak trail of evidence in its favour. Basically it's more likely that humans selected avocados with larger stones. SciShow made a video about it recently 😉
And the Ark? And the sample size of your readings? And the range of readings from multiple samples taken on the 4 bones you found clawing around the deserts? Can you p!ease post your data for others to review before conclusions are drawn? And the last calibration date on the instruments you are using? And the assumptions done with the readibgs, based on what prior evidence?
ngl i really wanted to belive richat structure antlantis theory but im totally disillussioned after that massacre lmao flint smoked hancock (not a hancock fan thou just found vision of atlantis cool)
The NA ancestry gap isn’t likely due to population decimation. 90% of native North Americans and I believe a similar number of native South Americans died from disease. If the traces are being found all through SA then the likelihood that it would register somewhere in NA is a high probability. I think that there were different waves of migration to North and South America and it could be likely that they missed some form of interaction between.
26:16 I really appreciate the text clarifying that it’s technically a bush baby in the clip not a young chimpanzee because oftentimes it’s easiest or only possible o use footage that only partly lines up with what is being said and I like that for the sake of clear, professional/scientific purposes it’s said it wasn’t a chimp
Thanks for mentioning about Hindu's and Sanskrit, some time it feels ancient Indian civilization is not talked in mainstream enough. Because it has to sell an idea that, there is also another type of religion called Sanatana Dharma (Hindu) which is completely outside the Abrahamic line and is in fact the oldest oldest religion in the world, and has the few oldest living languages in the world. And had its own glorious days. I agree, now as a country it's struggling, sad, but improving.
Being “human” isn’t a “human” exclusive thing. Other primates use tools, crows use tools, other animals show signs of “intelligence”. A lot of our ways of thinking is due to earlier hominid species and earlier. Since we were bacteria. Life always finds a way to survive. Even in other galaxies. There’s the same process going on on millions of other planets all over the universe. We’re not unique. Life is everywhere.
Dholovera had to defend against tides and floods, but not much of tsunamis. The Dolavera is located within a gigantic bay, not exposed to the open sea directly. Just check its location.
How do you think the acheulean "hand axe" was used? I had the luck to visit a site in Kenya where a stream entered a big lake. Most of the hand axes there were located below the beach terrace/drop off. There were skeletons of giant hippos, mostly below the beach terrace, and all the bones above the drop off had cut marks. I read an article about a woman in grad school and how she crafted hand axes (molded, not flaked) which weighed the same as basalt axes and had the discus thrower athletes at her U. and they pretty quickly worked out how to throw them so they spun in flight and hit point first. The archaeology was wildly different, but the landscape was very similar to Oregon in the USA, where I live.
Whatever the reason it can’t be doing em any good. I am an Australian and their problems are unfixable by modern metrics. Sorry to upset your feelings but reality trumps fantasy. Always has, always will be. Read it and weep.
You would know the answer to the question on the thumbnail if ever you read 'Men Out Of Asia' (ca 1948). Can't believe how long it has taken 'Academia' (the folks he teased at in his day) to get vlose to his heels today. Look it up. You will like the author and hiz penetrating 'humour/humor'
Stefan, you are among the most likable science folk on the net. I've watched all your videos, yep, all the way back to the stunning "Japanese Submarine Attacks US Mainland Base" six years ago. You had nowhere to go but up from that post, and up you've definitely come. You've not sacrificed any scientific info for the sake of your audience, either. I was a high school science teacher for years and know it's sometimes difficult to present scientific information in a way that's approachable to your audience. You've definitely got that down pat. You, sir, are a rock star in this, your chosen milieu.🌻
Back in 2006, I was on a Lufthansa flight from Frankfurt to Atlanta. Everything was going smoothly until, out of nowhere, the plane started experiencing severe turbulence. Before we knew it, we were making an emergency descent and ended up crashing somewhere in the Atlantic Ocean. Miraculously, many of us survived the crash and were floating in the ocean, waiting for rescue. As we were drifting, I saw what looked like ancient ruins beneath the water-a city with towering structures and statues. It was Atlantis, just like the legends! Rescue teams arrived pretty quickly and picked us up. As soon as we were on the rescue boats, government officials started debriefing us. They were dead serious, telling us we could never mention what we saw down there. They made us sign all sorts of confidentiality agreements. I've kept it to myself all these years, but I figured it’s finally time to share my story.
