I made a decision in 2020 to break from the U.S. and settle in Central America. I chose Costa Rica because of its microclimates, environmental awareness, developing infrastructure, as well as its political stability and good healthcare system. It seemed like a good place to re-imagine life away from urban chaos and the stress of nine-to-five demands.

You’re probably unaware that your videos about your visit to Morocco have gone viral, unfortunately you disabled commenting on those videos, apparently you’ve had a terrible experience in that place, which is horrible but doesn’t justify how you disrespected that old woman and her daughter, as a woman or however u identify who was raised in a country with basic “human rights” which u probably claim we don’t have you should be educated enough about how u must respect old people and other people’s cultures, you would never see someone disrespect an elderly woman for such silly behaviour in our country, so the daughter’s reaction is normal we don’t fight over such things, it’s not that big of a deal. ur horrible experience doesn’t represent the entire moroccan territory, no one visits small towns that aren’t even known for tourism, and it’s clearly unsafe based on the footage you’ve shared, even I as a moroccan would never visit that place for my own safety, and if u ask a moroccan no one would suggest you go there

@newstea7566 i’m actually quite aware that the videos have gone viral in Morocco and I find that hilarious. But I would like to correct some misunderstandings that you seem to have. First of all, we were not there as tourists. We had actually stayed in a nearby city and were in Azemmour volunteering with an animal welfare organization. That’s where we were the night the military and police herded everyone into the Medina at gunpoint. We were trapped there for a year during the pandemic. The US Embassy had arranged evacuation flights but we were not able to take any of them. Secondly, nobody knows how I actually spoke to that old woman because it is not on video. I was not recording when she released the shopping cart to slam into the side of our rented van, or when I tried to politely explain that the buggy return racks are there for a reason. Or when I tried to put the buggy in a nearby return and she snatched it out of my hands and shoved it into another vehicle. That’s when I got my phone activated to record the younger woman screaming and acting like a complete idiot. And that is exactly how most of the world perceives her. Only Moroccans see it backwards, or so it seems. People from that culture seem to love to play the victim and blame the world for their own shortcomings. It’s pathetic, and it’s heartbreaking for the children, but it has nothing to do with me because I am long gone from there and I will never, ever return.

No and the audacity of you having a fight in English against someone who has no clue what you saying 😂 2- Moroccans are generally known for hospitality, they even have a complex of inferiority where they treat Whites much better than anyone including their own people. So if they treated you like crap that tells me a lot about your personality 😂. 3- Be humble when you visit a foreign country, either speak their language or pay for a guide? Or better, don't visit other countries. 4- Morocco might be a developing country, but you guys are the real 3rd world, when your toddlers need a bulletproof backpack to go to kindergarten 😂, at least Morocco doesn't have this type of issue. In the video about Azemmour, people were asking her not to film them and she doesn't have the right to film civilians without their consent in Morocco. When she refused to stop filming they throwed dirt at her. Then the guy who did that was punished even though she could be sued for recording people without their consent. She was lucky because those people didn’t speak English well and didn't know their rights. She got benefit from that. In that original video she kept filming drunk people and a fight. She was complaining about drunk people in the street, as if she's not familiar with that in the US. A typical KAREN attitude. Every country has a place like that. She wanted to sell her own narrative by closing the comments section. Playing the victim doesn’t look good on you. Keep this attitude with people who know their rights and meet us with a new video from the jail, karen.

You people are hilarious. I've watched someone try to post this comment two or three times and YT keeps deleting it, because y'all don't know how to behave in the real world. Living in your bubble is what keeps you from understanding that the people who were throwing dirt on me were not doing so because of filming. They were doing so because they had mobbed us in the street for walking our dogs. Literally mobbed us, twisted my arm, tried to physically harm us until the police showed up. The police saw the videos and that is what helped place the most violent offender in jail. And what a silly comment: "those people didn't speak English and didn't know their rights." Hello? Why would they need to speak English? They were in Azemmour, Morrocco, behaving like a pack of rabid animals toward two people who were walking their dogs on a public street. Our dogs supposedly pooped in the street "ten times"... what about the dozens of street dogs roaming the area? No way it could possibly have been one of them, particularly the one visible in the video? Inferior levels of intelligence. That's the issue. People whose minds are broken. I won the court case. In front of a MOROCCAN JUDGE in El Jadida. What does that tell you? Was he racist against his own people? I documented one of the worst experiences of my life (being trapped in Morocco during the pandemic.) I am now living in paradise, have a great life and love the people around me. I'm the same person, doing the same things, abidng by the same values. And life is beautiful here. That tells me the problem was Morocco and its backward people, not me. Which video are you referring to? Marjane Girl? If so, your comment doesn't make sense. Rights? What rights? It wasn't a matter of rights. It was a matter of common human courtesy--decent human beings don't ram a shopping cart into someone else's vehicle. Just because I didn't catch that part on video doesn't mean I didn't address it in the description. The miserable old woman in question deliberately pushed her empty shopping cart into our rented van. I saw her do it. It's not a matter of "rights" if I tell her what I think of her low-class action. There is no law even in Morocco stating that one female cannot hold another female accountable for inappropriate behavior. The daughter came at me with foul language--extremely foul language--making all of Morocco and your animal-slaughtering religion look hypocritical and bad. I say this because her mother, the old woman, was dressed in traditional garb. It's all a joke, the prayers mooing from the loudspeakers several times a day, the mindless following of rituals that do not lead to more evolved and holy behaviors. I did not spout a steady stream of profanity at the girl. She spouted it at me because I corrected her mother for doing something entirely inappropriate and anti-social. This is what I meant when I said Morocco will always be a third world country. When people behave like wild animals, they can't expect to be respected like intelligent human beings. That has nothing to do with rights, and I will not lend an ear to the victim-blaming I saw so often in your culture when it was not me who shoved a shopping cart into someone else's vehicle. The batty old woman shoved it into mine.

Hello, I'm one of the people that subbed to you when my friend Corky (Historic Metals) purchased a bus from you and moved to Costa Rica. It's been a while since I've heard from him. SOOOOO......... I was wondering if you chopped him up and used him as dog food? Dont get me wrong. I'm not saying it would be a bad thing. After all, Mamma needs nutrition and puppies need to eat. But I was just checking in. Please dont use my friend Corky as puppy food. 😢 🤣😅😅🤣 Also, if I didnt have a 12 year old and a 13 year old dog, I would absolutely be willing to pay for shipping to give one of your beautiful puppies a good home. When my 12 year old dog was just 4 months old, I found him in an add for free on craigslist. My free dog cost over a $1200 within the first month. Had to get him up to date on shots, chipped, neutered, a bed, toys and a "correction collar". It had three modes to it. Beep, vibrate and shock. The first thing I did with the collar was put it on my arm, set the shock to the lowest setting and gradually bring it up until I decided it was strong enough but not overboard. Only had to shock twice the entire time he whore that collar. He ran off once while my back was turned the second time, he tried to run after an elderly jogger passing by. Other then that, the beep and vibrate did a great job of helping me train him properly. Anyways, I think you and your husband are beautiful people and I'm glad the dogs in your care. The world needs more people like you🍄🙏✌❤

you left out the only part I am concerned about,COVID INSANITY, did they make anybody do masks or tests?
@rhondak_ManorMiravalles
@rhondak_ManorMiravalles 4 месяца назад
I didn’t leave that part out at all. I even showed the negative PCR test that they were requiring at the time. However, they no longer require it and they do not require masks. I just got back from another border run a couple of weeks ago and there is no Covid factor to it at all anymore. At least for now.

Hi, now I feel more confident of doing the crossing and back, thank you! My trip is only for two weeks however, so I will still be within my original 90 days going out of CR to Ometepe and back. Will this matter in any way regarding the stamps? Also, do you know if that ATM machine is dispensing cordobas? I’ll need to find a place for this after crossing.
@rhondak_ManorMiravalles
@rhondak_ManorMiravalles 4 месяца назад
Hi, Alain. The exit stamp you get on your way to Ometepe will cancel your current Costa Rica tourist visa. But at your return, the stamp back into the country should reset it for at least another 90 days. Just show the CR border agent your plane ticket or evidence of onward travel, and your passport will most likely get stamped according to that. About the ATM machine... I have no idea if it dispenses cordobas. You won't use them at the actual border, so an ATM further inside Nicaragua is probably your best bet. I just did this crossing again on Saturday and it was as easy as ever. Happy travels!

It does not seem logical that on the basis alone of "adoption contracts not being enforceable" that you would seek to rehome these puppies outside of Costa Rica. All of the other content here on this channel suggests that Costa Rica is an ideal place to live. What exactly is not enforceable in an adoption contract for an animal in Costa Rica that makes exporting these puppies to other countries a better option than creating better living conditions for them where they were born and still reside?
@rhondak_ManorMiravalles
@rhondak_ManorMiravalles 5 месяцев назад
How much time do you really have for me to give examples? Because we could be here all day. How do you propose to know anything about the conditions for animals to be adopted into in Costa Rica all the way from New Hampshire? Costa Rica is a lovely place for many humans and for sloths, who are protected. But ask Fénix, our dog whose head was nearly chopped off by a machete a few weeks ago, if she thinks living here is completely ideal. I’ll have a video about her soon, as well as what the community is doing to “make things better.” But this is Central America. Hello? It is a slippery slope to imagine the complexities of a situation or a culture you have no experience with. So fair warning.

@@rhondak_ManorMiravalles the question pertained to the unenforceability of animal adoption contracts as being the reason you clearly stated in the video about why you could not rehome them in Costa Rica. Could you elaborate on the contracts, laws, precedents in that area, please?

@@Fosterdogsummit You seem to think that I owe you an explanation or a crash course in what I’m doing down here. I do not. If you want to know more, continue following the channel. I’m posting copious amounts of information about this on social media. But I will not waste my time justifying my actions to you or anyone else in book form. That would be a colossal waste of time and resources when my energy is better spent actually doing the work. Follow the channel and social media like everyone else does. And then you will know.

@@rhondak_ManorMiravalles isn't commenting here and asking a clarifying question with respect to your experience in how adoption contracts for animals are not enforceable in Costa Rica following the channel? Perhaps a link to an animal adoption contract that other rescues or shelters in Costa Rica use and discussion of how such a contract has been unenforceable or otherwise problematic would be a step towards gaining better understanding for your followers and financial contributors who may be interested in supporting your efforts which once based in Appalachia in the United States are now seemingly taking root in Costa Rica.

@@FosterdogsummitBut you see, that’s not what we’re doing here. And all of the people who are keeping up with this on social media and with me personally know that. This dog and these puppies were a special case for reasons that I’m not getting into here on RU-vid. When the time comes that we stand up another nonprofit for animal welfare, it will not be for a rescue in any sense that you are familiar with. It will be thoroughly documented and extremely transparent and all of the information will be made available to each and every person to whom it actually matters. I refuse to be put on the defensive and rocked back on my heels over a video on a channel that is not even about animal rescue. It’s about homesteading and our experiences here in Costa Rica. And the focus will not magically undergo a metamorphosis simply because one person wanted to show up in the comments acting like the puppy police. We have this under control. That’s all you need to know for right now. If you want to follow things as they develop and progress, like I said follow the channel.There will probably be a secondary channel anyway, and it will not be one that I administrate. Why? Because I’m not driving the boat here. I’m making myself useful to the people who need me here. And I refuse to get tangled up in this kind of debate when it’s clear that you don’t have an understanding of what is going on in this situation anyway.
