Man, seeing Stern tables would be a dream come true. Imagine playing Stranger Things pinball and the entire table flips a full 180° to reveal a completely different play field that represents the upside-down, and actually being able to shoot your balls at the demogorgon.
I'm new to this pinball (only found out about it a few days a go) and the reason, I wanted to play some real life pinball games I played as a kid like, Indiana Jones, Getaway, Adams Family and was sad I went through the whole video and didn't see any of these.
Can anyone tell me which is better to start off with, FX3 or fx pinball? They said fx is newer but I tried it on series x and it seems to look worse then fx3 and also the tables are more expensive on fx pinball.
Wow no self awareness But in ur credit atleast u kept this video up. I might of been to embarrassed to if i was u. Especially how wrong u were and they ended up 100% corrupt
There is also a final boss that is from American (Yes, that's how they spell America) named Joe which is kinda funny because SF1 has an American also named Joe.
Honestly, I'm very glad that Zen is continuing to make great pinball tables both fantasy and licensed, and outstanding ones at that. Zen throughout the years has never disappointed with each table they bring to the table, they are some of the absolute best masterpieces in all of pinball video games, aside from the Pro Pinball games. May Zen make a buttload of colorful pinball games for YEARS to come!
E.T. is a table that i'll be happy to play with the voices turned off, they're just awful, especially with that boy saying that annoying line every 10 seconds "Come on, what are we waiting for? lets go!", Ugh!
historic moment seeing a homepin machine go out. i had the pleasure of working in mikes taiwanese factory for a week. absolutely delight of an aussie bloke and smart as a whip. only problem is he works so hard, 7am-8pm days, the man is a machine. with flippers.
For me personally, the #1 thing they could do would be to add VR support for the Steam/PC edition. I just can't go back to playing pinball on a flat screen after playing life-size tables in VR that I can look at and all around naturally as though I was standing in front of a real table. There's just no comparison for me. The UEVR mod that's available to play Pinball FX in VR is too janky for me to enjoy, esp. combined with Zen's uncontrollable flipper-camera. Myself and others are willing to pay money for either VR editions of tables/table packs, or better, a VR DLC the way Zaccaria did it (Zaccaria's VR implementation is AWESOME) but I guess Zen feels like they have enough money already. Surprisingly so since they seem to want to milk every last dime and nickle everywhere else they can.
@@kapteenitortilla Well, that IS great to hear, but my enthusiasm is a bit diminished by their "partnering with Meta" remark. Which likely means it'll be Star Wars Pinball VR all over again. Not sure if you mess with VR or not but essentially, Zen originally released Pinball FX 2 VR for PC based VR (SteamVR). Which is pretty great other than it's a pretty limited collection of tables (all Zen originals). Nevertheless it's polished and a lot of fun and looks great. A few years later they announce Star Wars Pinball VR for Meta Quest (Oculus Quest at the time). Exciting but the Quest is essentially a mobile chipset and the exoerience snd graphics are very very watered down vs. PC editions. Low poly. Blurry low-res textures and gfx overall. That was understandable for the standalone VR tech of that time. For the PC VR version everyone expected something akin to Pinball FX 2 VR. But nope. It was the shitty Quest version in a lazy port to PC. They could have used the PFX2 engine but instead PCVR got the same blurry gfx, lo-res textures, no real-time shadows or lighting etc. etc. that Quest headset users got. Dissapointing is an understatement. Now, I'm not completely ungrateful. Despite its flaws and shortcomings, I've had a pretty good time overall with the PC version of SW Pinball VR. But the whole time you're playing it, you know how much better it could have been after playing Pinball FX 2 VR. So this new announcement likely means one of two things: (1) It'll be a Quest exclusive and I'm not a Quest user so won't get to play it all. (2) It'll release for PCVR later but will be a shitty port of the Quest version instead of a made-for-PC VR version with PC level gfx. If this latter, I might still get it, just to play the Williams tables in VR, but if the gfx fidelity (or physics) sucks it'll be like Oliver Twist eating his gruel because he's hungry and has nothing else. If we're lucky, maybe there'll at least be a Quest 3 version that can look better than their prior Quest 1 & 2 implementation. But if they don't bother porting even that to PC then it's a total wash. I really wish there was more competition and less exclusivity in this arena. If it wasn't for VR I might not care since all the tables in question can be played via other means (in VR even but the mods for that are a bit of a janky unoptimized mess). But like I said before, once you play pinball in VR it's super hard to enjoy it on a flat monitor. VR is the next best thing to owning real pinbal tables.
@@c.g.vonhagenstein7576 Thanks for the extensive reply. I don't own VR set myself but have briefly tried some. Recent Quest 3 model with it's price seems to be a decent option. It has 120 Hz refresh rate, a must have for me. If they collaborate for software optimization it's all even sweeter. I'm eager to see if this is the combo that makes me do "shut and take my money" move.
Good video thanks. The camera and sound level issues are egregious because they're so fundamental. I wish they'd spent more time on getting the basics right and less time on all their failed or half-baked gimmicks like tickets, dynamic bundling, pinball pass, pinball coins, pinball royale, collectables, questlines and now this crappy XP system. It's especially frustrating because we've been telling them about all these basic problems for ages (often in response to them directly asking for feedback) and yet so many issues remain over a year after we came out of early access and there's no timescales for them to be addressed. To be fair they do seem to have been more responsive of late and hopefully they can turn it round because it's not like we can go anywhere else to play officially licensed Williams tables.
I lost all emotional connections to Pinball FX. I don't like it anymore. It feels sluggish and feels like a money grab. It just doesn't give the fun that FX3 had anymore and ruiend FX3 as well.
I've been playing Zaccaria virtual pins for decades (as well as the real ones!) and I love all their tables and the amount of cusomization they offer. In particular I like the "older "style tables and have the top scores on many.
