This was downright gripping...right until a very-low-poly model of 3 piled heads goofily slides toward you. That killed the entire vibe and felt extremely lazy.
I really enjoyed the story telling in this game, but the AI for combat was pretty lousy lol, but I guess that's not the point anyway. It was still a nice attempt and found this whole game unnerving and unsettling, which I mean in a good way. Seems like it was pretty well put together and I enjoyed watching this. Thanks.
I have to say, this one was pretty interesting; I feel like Zium has really developed since their first Zium Garden you did a couple years ago. A couple pieces stood out as especially memorable to me (the first walk in the void at 1:26, the neat effect on Wobblerock at 2:24, Roseraie at 3:58, the animations at 4:59 stand out visually, the Rain Room at 7:23 had some beautiful atmosphere, the first of the Projections at 10:08, the artifacts at 10:52), and some are notable for how they utilize the virtual atmosphere to create something impossible in a physical setting (the walks in the void, the central painting of Object Permanence at 1:47, Wobblerock again, the casual mixing of paintings and animations like at 4:32, the interaction of Iconography at 5:38, the Rain Room again, the Evening Stroll at 11:02). However, a number of them were kind of disappointing. Indefinite Caryards at 1:10 doesn't seem that meaningful, a lot fo the more mundane posters and paintings on the walls like at 2:20 and 2:50 aren't that impressive, and the humor of Will There Be Dinosaurs at 6:14 doesn't really fit. I also feel like there could be more interactive aspects to it; right now there seems to be just Iconography and the room at 9:47 with a couple of totally pointless throwables. There could be more stuff like kinetic sculptures, things that change as you interact with them, storytelling you advance at your own rate, possibly even something more puzzly/gamey like Devolverland Expo (one you covered a while ago) if that would fit. As for what seems to be the big finale, I Hope To See You Again at 11:37, I'm a bit mixed. The music is definitely awesome, especially the earlier parts, but IDK about the visuals; I like the room part, but I don't feel like the rest is complex or dynamic enough to really use the walkable space well compared to a normal music video, and I don't really get what's going on with it (it seems to be depicting a journey of some sort, but not very clearly). Though I'm not sure if it's a full walkable space or just a 360-degree video, where it would make more sense. Also, for some final notes, there's a room that you pass by at both 2:17 and 8:44, but never actually enter. And I'm not sure what's up with the final area; it looks like a sort of backstage area/office for one of the creators, but I swear there was more personal messages the last time I saw this video.
