Doing some welding and working and having some fun. Follow along with me as i take on side welding jobs, help out my friends with weld repairs and just some basic welding projects. I work out of a two car detached garage and on a stone driveway, so just goes to show you don't need a nice new shop and all the fancy things.
Any particular reason you chose to mig weld it to the dumpster and not stick? Just wondering because I'm new to fabrication. I bought a titanium 170 to learn on did flux for awhile now mig. I would like to get a stick welder to learn on though
Hey I am a little late to the party but I am curious how did you end up getting work like this lined up was it all from previous employers or did you just do mobile work with enough people that it eventually stuck.
Great video! Im starting welding school at a college next tuesday 8/13/24! You showed what part of my goal is with welding and that is welding repair and designing and making my own metal products. But before you started getting side work, did you or do you recommend working for someone to gain the experience 1st?😃
I work in a shop on submarines (all submarine work is done indoors here) one question i got for mobile/outdoor welders is how do you deal with wind? Or i guess if its windy you just use stick instead huh?

I had a mobile welding business for about 7 years. I did a lot of architectural work and fabrication for food services. One problem I had was doing much work in my garage, the city will shut you down. That is why I went mobile.

They all look good since a good welder knows how to control and cover for the imperfections of an unruly electrode where as a beginner would show many more noticeable weaknesses in each brand...I worked with Lincoln excalibur rods of all sizes at work before retirement and was very happy with them since they were bought for us and now when doing projects on my own I go to Harbor freight for the Vulcan brand and really can't tell you any differences in the two.

Youre doing very good im a welder myself and i always be looking for the videos of the guys you mention and yourself too last yr i got 150 ft of 2.0 welding cable and an old miller 250 amp stick welder for 500 dollars i was more wanting cables they came as a package i really only use the welder 2 time when i tried it out off my ranger 10,000 plus i would sell for cheap i reall have no use for it
I hope you were really able to check how it mounts for yourself. The best way to get rid of vibration and would save your welds from stress cracks is polyurethane between the tabs with something like a nylon spacer between the poly and the metal. Or even just a thick nylon spacer to deflect the vibes. Def use a zinc primer before you paint. not trying to be bossy, but I've been alive for a long time, long enough to know that when I'm doing something, I'm putting my name on it. You touched it last so it's all on you. take care and stay safe.
Just found this video on my discovery, new sub and rang the bell. I love auctions sites and have been hunting me an engine driven welder. Problem is out here in Idaho everyone loves auctions haha I find market place is a timing thing. Gotta be able to go get it in 20 mins or the deals gone
