I think that women do a lot more to make themselves look prettier. However, if I were an alien and I were to compare an average woman and an average man that both didn't try to make themselves look attractive, I would probably conclude that the average man was objectively better looking than the woman. The reason being would be the same as to why I currently think that male animals across the animal kingdom are generally better looking than their female counterparts. Males tend to be more ornamental than females given their colorful feathers, manes, facial hair, greater musculature, antlers, etc.
