Good to have you back. Congratulations to you both on Frankie. Can you persuade Dan to make a video too? I know lots of folk miss him. Good health to you both.
Really awesome to see you again, Gemma and I'm glad you're doing better :) Another lovely vlog and catch up. Would definitely be game for more bookish content, and food vids (but also no pressure here if you feel drained from your already food related work!). You're general vlogs, with that calm way of yours, are also just so brilliant to spend time with! (so basically totally happy with whatever you come out with it haha). Nga mihi nui x
I think a lot of us like watching your vlogs because you channel your gentle way of life through the screen :) I would also love watching a book video of all the good books you've been curling up with!!
hey gemma, i was JUST thinking about how much I loved your videos and then you posted! Thank you! Loved this catch-up. It's amazing to think about a whole little person growing inside you, youre gonna be a great mama. I chuckled because your current daily activities are very similar to mine... though i'm not pregnant hehe. just taking it slow and easy too - my mood is extremely weather-dependant too, and im struggling quite a lot now in UK winter. love to you <3 p.s i think your vlogs are my favourite, just recording day-to-day things
So so proud of you for being gentle with yourself over these last few months ❤ you're soO strong Gemma & it's so beautiful seeing you go on this journey into motherhood. i can't imagine the relentlessness and intensity of those symptoms ~ so happy & relieved for you that they're easing up a bit. you look so radiant sharing this news (although i'm sure it's still full of ups and downs) - such an exciting chapter for your wee fam and seeing Albi's relationship w you grow is so so special. Lots of love hun x
I empathise with your pregnancy sickness and your feelings of loneliness. You're a superwoman for getting through it all Gemma. A big congratulations to you and Dan :-)
If you want your baby to be happier you could name her Genevieve if it is a girl because it is a beautiful name meaning God's blessing in French and it would suit the name of your baby or Christian if it is a boy because it means follower of Christ and it would also suit. What do you think.
Thank you for sharing ❤️❤️.. So happy for both of you and I hope things get better from here 🤞🏻🤞🏻pregnancy is such an amazing wonderful thing and I’m excited for you to experience being a mum because there are no words!! Hardest thing you will ever do but OMG the love that comes with it nothing comes close ❤️❤️❤️
So so lovely to see your video pop up Gemma! Sorry to hear that you've been going through such tough times, your honesty is so refreshing. Sending lots of happy vibes x
You've articulated so eloquently something so relatable. Glad things are starting to turn back up again :) Thank you for continuing to put yourself out there.
So glad you're back Gemma, your videos are one of my favorites. I always feel super calm after watching one. And I'm glad you're feeling better <3 Sending lots of love
I resonate with you a lot Gemma! You seem like a very emotionally intelligent/in tuned person. You remind me of myself a lot (even from this 4 minute video). I too have had my very down/flat days these past few months. Being transparent and vulnerable when it comes to hard things in our lives is daunting but so healing. I wish you all the best & I love your videos! XX
Hi Gemma, like everyone else, its really lovely to see you again :) I'm sorry to hear you've been having a tricky time (can also totally relate, especially health-wise!) and it's also totally understandable given the current situation of *you-know-what*. I'm glad you have been able to take time for yourself. Let's hope summer holds lighter and more joyous times (about time to shed some of this gloom, hey). Much love from the homeland x
Good to sea you back here again, I have missed you! Hope that you will continue to feel better and I am interested to hear what has been going on. I have also had some challenging weeks, healthwise and also we the loss of a loved one. I loved how you have filmed this video, so nicely put together and calming. And wow, what a pretty squash/pumpkin! I have never seen this variety before. See you soon again hopefully!
Hey gemma! A big smile on my face when I saw that you posted. I'm sorry you've not been well , but am genuinely so grateful that you made a video despite this . You are an inspirational woman. Strength and love to you x
Hi Gemma, hello from the UK. Sorry that you have not been feeling 100%. I hope that the corner is being turned and you are ready to manage a bit more. Life is not always easy (a comment from a man twice your age!). Keep working at it. I trust Dan is looking after you! Good to see him chilling in the background. He should be out running! Anyway, wishing you well and sending you energy. Take care both
Hi Ingrid. Thanks so much for your lovely message. I haven't been very well but I'm hoping to get back into it next week. Been really missing making them! Lots of love. x
Oh I'm so sorry to hear that Gemma! I hope that you feel better soon and have people and things to give you comfort in the meantime. I bet Albert can help with that ;) I'll be on the lookout for you next vid, but take all the time you need getting back into it, xx
Great to see that you had fun and you seem very relaxed during this trip, like there is some kind of relief for you now you don't have any food rules/limits anymore! Is it sometimes still a little hard, or was it in the beginning, not to feel guilty perhaps? After being fully plantbased i now eat sometimes vegetarian, but eating meat and fish would be very weird for me after not eating them for so long. Of course the most important thing is that you feel your best in your body and mind! Was just wondering how you have experienced this transition!
Hi. Well there is lots I could say but I am just stuck on the pies. Omg the pies looked fantastic. You can tell I don't have a very sophisticated palate. Just give me a pie! Lovely vid G
Bloody delightful! Esp the parents' summary at the end. After seeing your IG post I had wondered whether you got caught up in the SA lockdown.. was expecting a plot twist toward the end but it didn't come thankfully.
holy moly the Adelaide food scene is wild <3 go you feelin' free & following what feels good <3<3 the rainy, lush, eucalyptus aesthetic of this vid had me nostalgic for being out in winter. also i am so close to the end of 'The Silent Patient' and I am HoOkEd xox
This was really sweet (loved the montage by the way) thank you for the update, though you shouldn’t feel pressured to make videos (I hope you don’t!), you do you. What you produce is appreciated however and whenever it comes :) well wishes.
Gemma, thanks for being such an inspiration! Just started out documenting parts of my life on youtube as well, and enjoying it so much so far! In my latest video, I briefly mention Pachinko. If you like that one I REALLY recommend How We Disappeared by Jing-Jing Lee. Such an incredible book, beautifully written and truly a book I bring with me in thoughts after I put it down. Looking forward to seeing your next video <3
Kosås in swedish means cowsauce.. we actually uses åäö in our languish, so strange that an american brand uses å in their name. Thank you for your recommendations! :)
Love these recs! Really cool to hear you enjoyed Pachinko, such a spanning novel. I just recently finished The Garden of Evening Mists which was stunning and even though its quite different to Pachinko, I think you would really enjoy it. Oh and your speaking of Lizzie and enjoying long-form vlogs, I also just this week came across Ben Green. I'm pretty certain you will adore his videos, haha, he is in the realm of booktube but you also get glimpses of his life in Tel Aviv - he does half hour long reading vlogs that are just so nice! definitely check him out if you get the chance. I hope you are having a nice week and I look forward to your next video :)
I always love favorites videos, so interesting! I feel you considering comfy trousers and IBS, i hope to find something like that in my country as well. Shipping to Europe is probably quite expensive.
Oh my goodness, what a gift of a video! Taking notes & very happily sitting back being influenced 💗💗💗 Completely agree on (also being late to the game, yet also shouting their praises left right & centre) the game changing nature of wireless ear phones - especially for cooks I feel! I hated dealing with the wire with my last phone - it always got caught in the handles of draws and the buds went YANK out of me ear. Made me mr cranky pants every time lol
