Loved the video, looks like I'm 3y late to the party, but hey, I did make it finally. Just in case you still monitor the comments on your old videos, any chance of a total cost breakdown and +/- results?
This is a stupid question , why go thru the whole process and loose value on the grams of 14k vs 24k ? If am doing the math right you had 54.2 grams of 14k at todays spot of $2511.84 and you got 30.656 grams of 24k at todays value of $2434
Wow Sreetips had a child 😄😉 jk You did great nice shine but you want to know how to get a better shine you gotta “ Hawk Tuah “ on that thang you know what I mean 🤙
Nice to see. I just got a about 200 of them. 2 lbs or so. Was trying to decide, do I wet ash, as you did, or burn them. Burning them is so much work. I think wet ash is the way Im going. By the way, concentrated sulfuric will digest silver (silver sulfate). It can be recovered with a bit of HCL added to the Sulfuric to produce silver chloride. filter , rince then use the lye and sugar method to recover 999 silver. Not sure the recovery would be worht the effort but it can be done.
If you want the silver from these, burning is the way to go. I think its almost impossible to recover the silver from the thick syrupi black sulfuric sludge, but maybe im wrong.
I appreciate your video style, short, concise, precise intstructions. QUESTION: What outcomes if I use HCL (and lots of time) instead of nitric acid for thr first bath (after crushing) ? One obvious difference is I won't be able to get the silver. But as far as the gold is concerned, HCL (plus several days time) should work as well. Do you confirm ?
I think the hcl not strong enough to dissolve the kovar material in the pins, but i never tried. Drop one cpu for test in hcl add some heat . Worst case cenario nothing will happen.
I haven't seen an electric furnace look that new for YEARS! I'm on my second one, the first one met with a failed crucible and got turned into a copper art piece.
Same hobby . All best wishes for you r work, you have my SUB and LIKE from Serbia(EU). Don t stop, technology is coming. Keep collecting and one day... Keep the steam.
Hi og bullion i am from india please can you give any personal insta I'd aur something 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 i ant talk about this scrap CPUs please hope you will reply my comment
At which part of precious metals refining you collect those filter papers? aquaregia filtering after dissolve all metals or nitric acid solution filtering after dissolve most of metals except gold?
What I don't understand is how there is still gold and silver in the filter papers and as supposed you rinse the filter paper with water very well after finishing filtering the aquaregia or nitric solution bearing silver?
@@ayhamhafez285 i can't rinse 100% the dissolved metals from filters not metter how hard I try, always left some. The dissolved sterling silver and other old silver items always carry some gold that i catch in the filters as black/brown mud. When i filter gold solutions and have silver contamination the filters catch the silver chloride. Lot of ways can have left precious metals in the filters thats why everybody save them.
Hmmm, I think I lost a lot of gold since I didn't save my filter papers at all, usually I use cotton filter so it take a large space comparing to filter paper. Just to make sure that I understand you well, gold that you got from the scrap filter paper was contaminated with silver chloride, right?
@@ayhamhafez285 no. The filter papers incenerated and the silver chloride turned to silver oxide, silver/ or oxide both is soluble in nitric acid, the recovered gold is pritty pure 98-99% the remaining contaminations are possible platinum group metals.
one important step you may have left out was after converting the silver chloride to silver metal is to boil the silver in HCL. It will remove more contaminates like tin, and really clean off the rest of the lye and sugar.. It goes from Light grey color to a more silver like color. Much cleaner.
