A while ago I stopped playing the isle because for the life of my laptop, it could not support the new version of the game, only the classic version which makes me a little disappointed that I can't but with this video it shows me in some points it isn't worth it much anyways.
Ok- im going to say something Everyone villianizes "realism" as if thats the main culprit. Yet, in a way, their half-assed approach to realism is the real problem. The only danger is other dinos- in reality, there are other sources of conflict. Flooding could block off areas, wild fires could chase you out of an area, drouts could force you to travel long distances to already heavily populated watersources. All these events would give not only immersion and realism, but also extra factors to keep track of which would make the game mlre interesting and fun. I also beleive that they need to accept that, with how most players will pick carnivores- developing neuanced Ai to make the world feel real by populating it some is a necessity. Yes- perhaps not fill the map conpletely with them, but a dead forest with only two creatures in it isn't 'realistic'- and it isnt that fun. One can have realism and have fun as well-one just has to look past the most obvious bits- like, weather just making it hard to see is frustrating, when its alreafy hard to see half the time due to night.
I remember the time, when The Isle was fun. Running around as a dinosaur on that weird alpha-maps, with that sea, where everyone was. That time, you had to start as an Austroraptor. I don't know if that animal is in the game these days. Or this giant forest-map, where you had to run for hours to find your buddy. That was shortly before they introduced the Hyperendocrine BS. I loved it to walk around the blackforest-ish area as an Allosaurus, nervous to meet others. I made friends as an Austroraptor, and we annoyed the Rexes. I was in a Twitch-livestream and we herded around and it was amazing to see my Dinosaur do things on Twitch. I was young and happy, new things had a feel of wonder to it. I remember then, that the dev of the isle made some weird business decisions. Everyone was hating him for it. Dondy was his name, I guess. That's the time I left the isle. It was a nice summer memory. But the search for the friends on the way too vast maps, the constant death through starvation, and later the Hyperendocrine horrormonster gave me the feeling of emptiness. Then the maps changed again. And again. My favorite parts dissappeared for a more streamlined concept. More monsters. Humans. The rest, never improved. The scandals behind the development. I turned my back on the isle. At the end, everything changes. And old memories of sunny mornings on the couch, hunting together as a small raptor pack, friends and strangers together, united through a rudimentary chatbox... dissappear. The isle isn't, what it was. What it used to be. I see the modern iteration. And I know, I will never come back to it.
I gave up on the isle a long time ago tbh. Its just not a fun game. I do enjoy path of titans, but kind of wish there would be someone to step up with a game built from the ground up around a good game loop and pvp system. Maybe something based on some fun fantasy critters instead of going tooo far in the direction of realism that they ruin the fun.
My biggest issue so far has been a sound stutter bug causing the audio to stutter way too frequently especially when its raining, which its fucking always raining, and I cant find a fix besides maybe my pc is too old to handle the isles sounds. But I have stayed away from the larger dinos for the time reason.
I feel like a good fix for this would be to have an apex limit then making the only way to join when thats full through nesting. Nesting is challenging enough to starve out adults in less than ideal situations and iy encourages use of the mechanic
I've been thinking about watching a playthrough for a while now, and as soon as I saw this video I knew I had to watch it. I'm glad I waited because watching you play was, great and I can't wait for the next part.
No way a Dinosaur gamer uploads a video of a random game that I just finished 4 days ago. (btw, I played this games just for some 1000 xbox Trophys BUT I don't regret it! this game story is insane.) Love your vids thoo!
Aight, I got some notes for you. - Turn on subtitles. - You can actually see Delilah's tower outside the North window of your tower. - Whenever you see the radio icon alongside *anything*, you can call it in, and you should. - Whenever you see that eyeball on the right side of your screen, you can call it in, and you should. For instance, you could have called in the shale slide and the lake itself. - Whenever you are holding anything and the item is highlighted in blue, you can call it in, and you should. For example, you could have called in the Typewriter and the Whiskey. - Additionally, if you are opening a cache box, you can left click on the map in the cache box to "copy information" to your own map, and it can make traversal a bit easier, and give you notes on the area. - There are also notes in the majority of boxes that you can read and collect and occasionally call them in. - You've unlocked the flashlight, and pressing "F" will toggle it on. It can be quite helpful in the dark. Other than that, lovin' the gameplay. 👍
I would recommend that anky should only be flippable if it's stam ran out and it should cost the predator stam aswell to flip him/her because he a chuncky boi
Sometimes I wish that we could all come together as a community and stop being toxic and hating on the devs (yeah I know that they can be a little pushy and slow to update the game) although this will never happen let's be honest here, All I wish is that sometimes we could all come together and fix some issues, because like I know there are other dinosaur games out there (PoT, Bob, etc.) But when have you seen a game like this, Like, no offence to these games, I'm not calling them bad at all, they're great. Like Pot in my opinion is to combat focused (and acorn gathering sim but that doesn't matter) And BoB is too cartoony in my opinion, Like The Isle is one of those games that's buggy and they focus on realism way too much, But I bet if the game just suddenly disappeared of Steam, People would be pretty confused and mad, There's a lot of people who truly Love this game and hope the best for it (including me), idk though don't flame me its just my thoughts.
Honestly, I envy your ability to enjoy anky’s design as we currently know it will be like in the isle, but, what bugs me about it is not the ascetics (as I don’t really care about that in games to the point where it physically hurts like everyone else seems to, unless it actually does because of weaponized epilepsy or is excessively graphic content you would find in either a saw movie or the porn of the saw franchise.) instead being the circumstances surrounding the design. See, the developers didn’t want to make anky playable for the most asinine and ignorant of reasons (they literally said something to the effect of “anky slow, not fun” at one point like that was a valid reason to not include a walking bunker that annihilates ankles), and after being rightfully told off by the community, said “fine” in the most whiny of ways and a few weeks later we get concept art, with the most “is that even an ankylosaur, or did the isle devs accidentally mislabel the mutant armadillo concept art?” design seen in fiction, which seems like a last jab at the community for even daring to like the animal. TLDR: the anky design screams “not made in good faith, in spite of what few positive qualities were accidentally left in.” So that’s why I personally dislike it.
Most of the dinosaurs are either being worked on or havent been worked on yet. Some (like the big theropods) are awaiting being made due to big mechanics that would be needed for them like sparring.
All these changes are actually great, as well the announced ones. Every inconvenience is a symptom, not the issue. The issue is that you spawn in a lifeless environment with nothing to do. You start running around in the hope to find something or someone of interest. Sometimes it's possible to hunt the AI, but they are scares. It's possible to engage with other players, but on a map this size, players are even more scares than AI. Knowing the struggle, it doesn't feel good to do any harm to other players, leaving a good chunk of gameplay behind. The most dangerous and fearsome aspect is the terrain. You fall down a cliff, break your lag after a jump, get stuck in a glitch. Before the update, the game was just a brawler battle royal, and it's awesome that the new updates actually makes the whole premise interesting, of overcoming (the intended) struggles. But the game is just devoid of life. No (good) Ai, no players (100 is just way too little), no hunting, no hiding, no escaping, no survival, horror, nothing. This game needs servers that have 200, 500 or 1000 player size, to actually provide an experience in the game.
Please keep making isle videos kingfisher. Your takes on the dinosaurs are legues better than most other isle tubers. You seem like you understand dinosaurs better by league's. And i dont put that lightly. As most isletubers dont seem to have any knowledge about dinosaur ecology and make wild suggestions out of the realm of possibilities for some of these dinos. Altho herrera is a bit out there and afterlife kinda took speculative paleontology to heart but its cool. Oops rambled. I cant wait to see more from yoy
id say my most anticipated at this point are: giga: will have an insanley fun playstyle that id imagine will make it a land deino, where you have to be extremely patient in order to win camara: im interested to see how the sauropods will work in this game spino: my favourite interpretation of my favourite dinosaur, of course im excited to see my boy quetz: hoping to be a more complete flier than ptera, but im hoping it will feature a lot more ground gameplay, as quetz would have preffered to hunt on the ground in real likfe allosaurus: since its confirmed to be coming soonish, im excited to see our first proper mid teir, and this means, that since maia is coming before rex and trike, that it and allo might be the only real species that will be able to interact with rex and trike, other than being one shot
