"There Are BODIES in the Trees..." - an Original "The Isle" Story | Dinosaur Horror Stories 

The behavior of the acrocanthosaurus is like a real life bird. The shrike I think it's called, the males will impale prey on thorns or barbed wire to preserve their food and to attract mates. There isn't any paleontological evidence for this behavior in acrocanthosaurus, but it's a fun idea.

I always liked the Idea of someone looking up, with a flashlight in the middle of the night, and seeing a body suspended in the branches, guts out, the face still recognizable but forever in horror, and sitting on the body, a raptor, just looking down, eating the guts, with their eyes reflecting the light from the flashlight.

this is why merc gameplay is important, it also provides extreme primordial horror pierced into a person's mind on how literally scary these creatures could provide in the eyes of a human (specifcially first person view)

This was so enjoyable. The impaled human on the branch reminds me of a shrike. Imagine a large theropod that impales prey on broken branches to cache them. That’s horrifying.

This is so cool, actually sent shivers down my spine on occasions. I really hope we get a continuation of David’s story!

I know you wrote it but I should point out that if it's set in the Isle universe it's not technically an original, but that's a technicality. If you wanted to make it so, could be original in your own universe, but I like this nonetheless. It reminds me of ARK. I should also ask, are you the one narrating cause this sounds like so many other horror narrators I've heard, you all sound alike. I also do wonder if the protagonist didn't want to harm the dinosaurs because he felt empathetic towards them or simply because he found them exotic and wanted to show anybody he could bring to the island after escaping. If it's the former then that's a powerful moral characteristic but if it's the latter it means that if the animals weren't dinosaurs or any other rare or exotic species he may not have hesitated to harm or kill them, still he has a right to defend himself, he just shouldn't be keen on taking their lives out of supremacy, pleasure, or selfishness. But to the point I did enjoy this, and I hope there's a part two.
