Have loved Aarons music all of my life. So intense, sexy and comforting all at the same time. I miss he and Linda Ronstadt together. What a sound.. This Sam Cooke song is one of my favorites.
Im 21 years old but the music from the 40’s and beyond fascinates me. What a time to be alive back then even though I’ve never experienced it, the fashion of this period was the absolute best.
This and yellow moon are two of their best songs. They stood out at the time and didn’t conform to Cajun, zydeco traditions. Very unique to say the least. These guys are eternal

I was only 13 when the plane crash happened. I remember hearing they had disappeared......then a long time after hearing they had been found. I was amazed by this. I have read the original harrowing account of what happened. Written by Nando and much more detailed in the agonising moral issue they faced. I believe this hymn sung by Aaron Neville is the most beautiful rendition I have ever heard. It truely captures the agony they went through.
I grew up in Windsor Ontario with all my ethnic white folks from WW2 marriages. We were English, French, Dutch, Polish, Hungarian, Italian, Scots, Irish, etc. Detroit was one mile away and we all wanted to dance like Soul Train. We used to travel to Detroit for the good times and good prices. My best compliment was from a ‘sister’ who told me I danced pretty good for a” honky “. I even was invited to parties being the token “white boy”
