Yes, thank you. I have six versions of this song. But I'm afraid the young ones would say; you old fools don't get the new stuff. A bit like when hip hop came; there I was sitting looking at my old funk vinyl...still I love the smell of it! So ... Yellow Moon... keep telling me something I don't know... see my baby ... walking those railroad tracks...
Why aren't the Neville Brothers in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame? Please do it before more of them die! How can they omit such a contribution to music, rock or not?!!!
The Nevilles could wake up hungover from a three day drunk and in ten minutes over eggs and grits could write the best damn song you ever heard in your life. I'm from southern Louisiana. Believe this: to be from that part of the world is to love the Nevilles second only to God himself. If there's another family, and band, as brilliant and talented as the Nevilles anywhere in the universe they've yet to be seen or heard. People from Louisiana know this is true, whether they admit it or not. Louisiana is the armpit of the universe in every possible way except one: no other state in the nation has been so generously blessed with musical talent in history. Well, make that two ways. The food doesn't get any better, anywhere, ever. That too.
I can here so many elements of different styles of music infused in to this one song. I here funk, jazz, rock, reggae, calypso, r&b. And to top it off with such a unique and distinctive voice. What a masterful job the Nevell brothers did with this song. Pure New Orleans.... like a slamming bowl of gumbo! Well put together jam here. Nice job brothers🇲🇼
The Neville brothers....OMG, That groove is so funky, Makes you want to SLAP SOMEBODY . And the solo at the end with the lead guitar and the saxophone, Just sends chills at my spine. They just don't make music like that anymore.
Art, Aaron, Cyrill, Charmaine, and Arthell on the news. NOLA royalty. I had the distinct privilege of seeing them on the opening night at tha House of Blues on Decatur St, right in front saw alot of legends that night. Kicked it off w Aaron singing Ave Maria acepella. Gave me chills brah.
I've been fortunate enough to see them several times at Tipitina's during Mardi Gras in the late 80s / early 90s. One year ('90 I think) John Goodman was the king of the Bacchus Parade and he made a surprise appearance on stage with The Nevilles. The guy drank like 20 beers during the set. lmao
always getting good vibrations with the neville brothers...plus they are offering a good ad lib...with good musicians wishing to offer to the audience a good show... listen until the end...
Man! So glad I stumbled onto these guys. I know they've been around for a hot minute, but it's fresh and REfreshing to hear something with that groovy Creole sauce, that's badass, funky rad!
Just heard this today 7.7.2022 at 6 am in the morning. Was going to work with my car , Randomly listening to the radio when i stomped on these song. Instantcrush
Rest in Peace, Brother Art. Saw them many years ago at the Amnesty International Concert at Giants Stadium. They did a great solo set and then came out to back up Joan Baez. Unforgettable.
