Don't know why I've seen nobody vouch for a Luigi vs tails rematch. That episode was hot ass, and was a massive punch in the face to Luigi, both have tons of new material, and it makes lots of sense to do given we already got the Mario vs Sonic remaster.
Couple of reasons are stopping people from wanting a rematch. 1) Both (mainly Luigi) have gotten more popular matchups. 2) We are already getting a Nintendo VS Sega matchup.
I hope they only stick to IDW comics for Eggman. Archie stuff is way too busted, especially trying to figure out the whole Robo Robotnik crap (if ya know, ya know).

I mean it doesn't really help Eggman's case here since Miyamoto himself confirmed that every Mario we take control of in all of the games (including the spinoffs) are all the same Mario and this logic can apply to Bowser which means the sports abilities and mario party items are indeed canon to the Mario cast pretty much.

I'm most excited for Bowser vs Eggman, Asura vs Kratos, Simon vs Kyle, Shigaraki vs Mahito, Ruby vs Maka, and Godzilla vs Hulk. Those first three I'm rooting for the one who seems to be the underdog as far as who the community thinks will lose (Eggman, Asura, & Simon) where as I'm fully expecting and supporting Shigaraki & Maka to win their fights. I don't really know what the consensuses is on who wins Godzilla vs Hulk; but I think I'm rooting for Godzilla all the same.

Personally I can't get behind the idea of Yugi vs Ash. The reason for this is that, Yu-Gi-Oh characters just don't work in a who would win in a fight scenario due to any and all feats they could have are specifically relegated to the card game itself. And with how inconsistent the series is when it comes to weather or not the holograms can actually harm you it makes it any powerscaling pointless as it's all only there for the game itself. The only way yugi could beat say ichigo is if they play duel monsters but at that point you can't make any reasonable argument about who would win because duel monsters only exists in the Yu-Gi-Oh universe.
Eh, I wouldn't say that's true for shows like DM where there's no real inconsistency, some of the cast can just use dark magic to make the monsters real. Granted, this is only some of the cast, so you could never get someone like Joey on Death Battle; but The Pharaoh can totally turn things into a Shadow game whenever he wants to make the monsters real and make breaking rules punishable by death. And there are feats from when the monsters were real to scale to; such as when Zorc moved the moon in the sky to make a solar eclipse when fighting the Egyptian Gods.
That's the thing though. In order to make something into a shadow game he has to be playing a game even in the Millennium world arc it functions on this rule due to the dark rpg. I don't think a death battle or Pokemon battle could be considered a game. Not only that how can you powerscale most of the monsters when we have very few instances where they aren't restricted to the rules of duel monsters?
@@nightmarearcade2663 Well in fairness, you generally don't need to scale literally everything a Death Battle combatant has, only their strongest stuff. And Yugi's strongest stuff all scales to that eclipse thing I mentioned. (Also apparently some multi-versal stuff when chain scaled to GX, but who knows how deep the research will go for this match.) Where Gaia the Dragon Champion scales in comparison probably doesn't matter, he wouldn't factor into the verdict anyway; only really involved in the animation at best, where mid-tier stuff is generally allowed to be inconsistent when fighting other mid-tier stuff. Also I don't really see why a Pokemon battle couldn't be considered a game. It has rules, turns, winners, losers, and it's honestly not all that different from games played during season zero. The only real problem is trying to mix the rules of a Pokemon match with those of a Dual Monsters match, but I don't think that's an impossible hurdle to overcome. (And if it really comes down to it, Yugi is willing to play other people's games; he could just face Ash as a Pokemon trained with 6 of his best monsters as his Pokemon.)
I have a personal list of fights that I would like to see get remastered for one reason or another but the one I'd like to see get remade at some point is Mike Haggar vs Zangeif in a style similar to Blarog vs TJ Combo with them being in an actual wrestling ring complete with commentary by Ringmaster and Jocelyn. I admit to being surprised at how popular the request for a rematch between Beast and Goliath is. The reason for the hate against Super Saiyan Bardock is because it comes from one of the dumber Dragon Ball specials.

Peach vs Zelda I feel needs it the most. They've been updated SO much since then, and they need to fix how disrespectful they were to the characters in the summaries. Zelda still gets slaughtered though. Most of her new attacks, though wildly powerful and much stronger than anything she had before, specifically target evil beings. It would be fun to see her with her rapier versus Swashbuckler Peach or whatever that new technique is called. And I can easily see a climax where Peach speeds her motorcycle down the back of the Light Dragon as the two careen through the stratosphere.
Nah. I am quite excited for Shigaraki to get on, since The MHA Manga is now over. And also the fact, Shiggy is one of my most favorite Anime Villains of all time.
I'm glad to see that we agree on the three episodes that should be remade. The only other episode that I would want is Crash Vs. Spyro. With both of them having a resurgence of sorts, they could definitely do this one better. The animation, analysis, were off, they used a version of spyro that nobody wanted to see, and they mischaractarized both characters (plus sparx), so it's definitely one that needs a runback
Also that episode even got something in the REAL WORLD wrong. We all remember the part where they start for some reason talking about autistic savants but their example was Kim Peek, who wasn't autistic.
My personal vote for the rematch is Tracer vs Scout, certainly not the worst episode out there, but they didn't really do Scout justice, the episode was so close to Overwatch's release that they hardly had anything to show for Tracer, the research/argument they showed was spotty at best, and Torrian was overworked at the time and the animation ended up pretty mid as a result Mewtwo vs Shadow might overall be in more dire need of a refresh, but honestly I just like TF2

I feel like Wile E Coyote vs Tom isn’t gonna be the only toon force cartoon fight. Back in 2021 in the King Mickey preview ending, Boomstick mentioned about Mickey Mouse will be in death battle in 2024 and he also said in Madara vs Aizen (I Think) that "We might be seeing a certain rabbit meet a certain mouse soon." which the line is a clear reference to Bugs Bunny and Mickey Mouse, suggesting that a Death Battle between these two iconic characters could be in the works. This year might be the year.
My Hero Academia absolutely deserves more episodes. It's one of the "New Gen Big 3" and they've only had three characters appear so far. LOL Also, Gurren Lagann was animated by Gainax, not Trigger. Though, you're not the first person I've met to get the two mixed up so don't beat yourself up over it. Believe it or not, but Kyle Rayner vs Simon the Digger was actually talked about long before "Will of the Drill", mostly because at the time it was believed to be one of the few MUs where the DC herald looses. Nowadays the most common consensus it that Kyle still probably wins, but ironically, people ended up appreciating the match-up for it's connections, themes, and contrasts more then anything. Regarding Hulk vs Godzilla, I think they will do a composite Godzilla from all official Godzilla media (I.E. excluding any potential Super Robot Wars or Marvel scaling), that way they can cover all their bases without JUST comparing him to Marvel characters or Gurren Lagann characters. As for me, out of the stretch-goal MUs, the ones I'm looking forward to the most are: 1) Mahito vs Shigaraki. Creative powers and abilities, plus really interesting parallels about how they're both "monsters created by society". DJTiki was talking about how he would cook with this one, and I believe it. Hopefully the My Hero and JJK fans will be chill about it. 2) Kyle Rayner vs Simon. This fights visuals are going to be god-like, and they both have unique hax and abilities too, but ... I don't want to see either of them die. 2nd place. 3) Gru vs Megamind. yeah, sure. 4) Ash vs Yugi. Yu-Gi-Oh in Death Battle? Sign me up. 5) Bowser vs Eggman. Maro vs Sonic debates tend to be hella toxic, but I do think this episode will be great, at least. 6) Kratos vs Asura. Oh boy, I can already see the controversy coming from this one regardless about who wins. Oh well. Devil Artemis's fights are usually bangers, so I believe the episode will look cool. Hopefully the analysis will be good regardless. 7) Hulk vs Godzilla. Godzilla absolutely deserves to come back and be given the modern DB treatment with calcs and whatnot. Yeah, he's probably more then likely going to loose, but all of Hulk's fights have all been great, so hopefully this one will be too. My biggest concern is their analysis, I want them to actually talk about significant character moments and not just "big monster smash". 8) Maka vs Ruby. I'm not overly invested with either of these characters, but the fight and analysis will probably be good. Especially considering Ruby's character development in Volume 9. 9) Omni-Man vs Bardock. Devil Artemis is animating it, so it will be a banger. Unfortunately this episode pretty much kills any chance of Nappa vs Conquest or Mark Grayson vs Son Gohan happening anytime in the immediate future. Womp. Womp. 10) Aang vs The Traveler. I really would have preferred a remastered version of Aang vs Edward Elric over this honestly. Aang and Ed have so much more interesting connections and parallels overall and they blew it. DB has shown they can handle more meta battles that challenge their premise like Martian Manhunter vs Silver Surfer, so I would've preferred them to try and take another crack at it rather then just do this. Believe it or not, I actually would be down for a Ben 10 vs Hal Jordan rematch. I don't think Ben will win or anything, but I would actually like for them to take another crack at it and give them both a better analysis. They have a lot in common, good theming, the battle potential is still their even if I thought the first animation was already pretty good. Yeah, the Alien X glazers are going to be toxic as hell, but that's just how fandoms be like at times. Yang vs Tifa and Master Chief vs Doom Slayer don't really need to happen again in my book TBH, they both have better MUs with other characters (Yang vs Bakugo and Master Chief vs Samus Aran to name some examples). Mewtwo vs Shadow is good, but lately, I've grown REALLY fond of Mewtwo vs Sephiroth more then anything. I know Smash Bracket did their version, but I would still really like to see Death Battle give it a shot. As for me, my most wanted rematches are Ganondorf vs Dracula or Ganon vs Bowser, because both of their research is bad and terrible and I would actually like a good Zelda analysis for once (Something not even the Link vs Cloud rematch gave us). And, I actually like both of these match-ups for different reasons. Hell, I'll even write the script myself if I have too. LMAO
I think Dr Strange vs Dr Fate is my pick for the rematch. It's a really cool matchup and was a pretty mid episode. I don't mind the other options but I feel like most of them are either already good episodes or I would rather the characters just come back to fight someone else
Ash vs Yugi is probably my favorite matchup, at least of ones with any chance of happening. My top match up would have randidly ghosthound in it, but that sure as shit isn't happening. But I love Yu-Gi-Oh and pokemon, both being one of my favorite franchises ever, even if ash and Yugi in specific don't have much to do with that other than getting me into the franchise as a kid, but I don't have many negative feelings about either, Yugi a bit less so than ash, but seeing Yu-Gi-Oh characters in a well animated actual FIGHT would be amazing.
Interesting choice for the rematch. Personally I’m leaning on two potential options: Option #1: TMNT Battle Royale. Considering this was a super early season episode they could play with the concept but given how Leo vs Jason kinda just merged all Leo’s into one I feel they could do the same for this rematch. This would give us a more interesting analysis for all 4 alongside giving Mikey a real look. The main reason I want this is because I’d want Donnie to actually be allowed to use his machines. It felt so dumb that the OG Battle was basically Leo vs Raph….and Donnie and Mikey are there I guess? Let shit get CRAZY!! Option #2: Pokémon vs Digimon…or how I would rename it Red vs Tai. Personally this is one I’m choosing for a biased reason but looking back on it…I hate how Red was handled. Given how Reds character in both Adventures and the Main Games have him as this hardy experienced trainer ready for any challenge but not headstrong it made seeing Red in the battle feel so…weird the best way to describe it is it felt like a Dorkly Bits version of Red in the fight. Personally I feel the rematch would be based if they focused on Red from Adventures (gives us a whole new analysis) though Game Red would be cool. Also …LET RED USE AN ACTUAL TEAM. I get why it’s called Pokémon vs Digimon but it feels so lame that the only example of a Pokémon trainer used ONE Pokémon given when comparing Digimon and Pokémon the team element is a big difference that honestly would be cool to show. It would be tough but Death Battle has done amazingly wild fights before just let them try to do a fight where Red is using his whole team to fight WarGreyMon. I personally think Red still loses but it would be such a cool fight dynamic. Plus you could actually have Tai and Red fight…since Adventures Red at least isn’t gonna let someone just beat the shit out of him. Also if you wanna see an example of a fight where Red is using his whole Team I’d highly recommend you check out Smash Brackets Red vs Ness fight. It shows just how cool that kinda of fight could be if attempted.
Problem is that Red doesn't really have a GAME personality unless you use Masters, which didn't exist at the time. Pokespe is a separate continuity entirely.

Hell you could even argue since most characters in Masters tend to be the same as their canon counterparts that any personality aspects would also be apart of Game Red’s personality

Calling TTGL a Trigger series isn't *too* far off, so it's not a huge deal imo. It was animated by Gainax, yeah, but the success is what led to the people who made TTGL go on to found Trigger, and in '21 they did get the rights to TTGL as well. It just predates the studio
