Do sweeteners like, equal, splenda & truvia spike blood sugars? I use Stevia the most I was just curious because I am a type 1 I prefer stevia. My dad is a type 2 & he prefers truvia & splenda. I was just wondering if there is a difference. Thank you for the fruit tips. My favorite fruits are sadly the bad ones. Will have to change my favorite fruits because I do notice the spike.
According to the American Diabetes Association (ADA), although they contain sugars and carbohydrates, eating apples and other fruit is not a problem for a person with either type 1 diabetes or type 2 diabetes. Apples contain a different kind of sugar to foods with added sugar, and they also contain fiber and nutrients.
I love Blackberries and Raspberries alongside Blueberries and placing them in plain Greek Yoghurt is quite a desert, although I have to limit this to 2x a week as dairy can be a burden to my body. I'm tempted to try Goji Berries. I love Pomegranate seeds (usually 2-3x a week tops). People run down bananas and it seems to be the norm these days, but I get on much better with green bananas and they don't cause throat clearing issues for me like the ripened ones do but they may not be advised for diabetics but then I'm not a diabetic so it is not for me to say really. The yellow bananas do cause a blood sugar crash in me however but the green ones don't (thankfully) so I will keep them in for post gym workouts - alongside a small handful of cherries. I didn't know that info about the apples however. Coconuts I don't really bother with but I do take a spoonful of cold pressed organic coconut oil from time to time. I did have the coconut drink from the coconut itself though when I travelled through Thailand in April 2016 and I can attest, it is refreshing for a while. Grapefruits are too sour for my liking unfortunately, but I eat a few Oranges from time to time, but in limited doses as more of a post gym and dance workout. As for Avocados, I cannot stand either the texture or taste of them. They're just slimy to me, but that's just my personal taste prefix admittedly. I would love to know where to get the high protein low carb bread though that is mentioned in the "14 foods to lower insulin spikes" as that looks nice and I cannot find any bread that I'm really suited to. I don't get on well with most modern grains at all. I'm better with fruit, veg, meat and fish, and maybe this is more of a Northern Celtic thing for me.
My friend there is nothing to do with that every doctor gives different advice so we believe that we get healing from christ only we did not get any treatment from doctors at all.
I used to get hypoglycaemia 4/5 times a year. Didn’t have a clue what it was. I started getting dizzy spells on waking up , sometimes this lasted for an hour. If I got up I would feel sick and have to go back to bed. Since changing my diet first to veg/fruit smoothies, then Keto and now Keto/carnivore all these symptoms have gone.
I've experienced many of these, but am not diabetic (including Type 2). However, I realized they appear with bad diet (junk food high in simple carbs). Cleaned up diet and these "symptoms" went away. I would suggest the video is good because you could be on your way to Type 2 if you don't make changes.
I had a lot of these symptoms and was convinced i was either pre-diabetic or stage 2....though Google and RU-vid didn't help, i visited my GP and had the blood tests which also included prostate and cholesterol, turns out my cholesterol levels were higher than normal, i changed my habits mainly my sweet tooth and started 30min faster paced walking every day...to date my cholesterol is now 3.5 after 4months and i feel so much better within myself, i actually look forward to the walks now come rain or shine
The original Margarita : Equal parts Tequila, Orange liqueur, and lime juice. Make sure it's real liqueur , like 100% Agave Tequila , and real orange liqueur (Gran Marnier, Cointreau). No cheap triple sec, pre-made margarita mix, bargain Tequila that cut with cheap neutral liquor .
You say check with doctor. The doctors are not treating deficiencies, they are ignoring patients concerns. I took my full health in my own hands. The establishment s are turning there heads to the problem to resort to chemical drugs that are more toxic and is filling there pocketbooks of kickbacks. I for one am fed up with these manipulations.
Please heal me Lord of Diabetes arthritis wegeners Hearing and Large hernia also Teeth bridge is Broken please make a miracle today that the dentist can recement it asap and the insurance will cover it all please mercy on us all. Protect us All we pray Lord, amen
What I can say for sure and certain fact is I was diagnosed as having insulin resistance and at risk of it progressing further (62). I have endured what I thought was arthritis in my thumbs and general aches and pains for years. Also had the restless legs thing which felt like burning in bed, regardless of how tired I was. Started taking daily dose magnesium a year ago, but the game-changer was taking sub-lingual B12 a month ago. More alert, no creepy tingling, and the hand and arm pain is pretty much gone. This happened within days. I’ve always been powerful and don’t look my age but previously this had me worried. I can now see a future. Vision, breathing and mood, has improved, and I get more done in a day. I’m still irascible though and really don’t want that to change. Great advice Doc!
Thank you for educating us about diabetes, I was diagnosed with diabetes about ten years, however, my doctor have never recommended that I see an Endocrinologist. Thank god I started watching your videos and I have learned so much. God bless you
Finally, someone talking about getting off Metformin. No other channel speaks of this. I want off of meds and will do what it takes to not need them anymore but no one talks about getting off of the rx. Thank you.
December 2021 I crashed. Was in ICU for over a week. The VA had me on taking nearly a dozen meds. I'm almost convinced they were trying to bump me off. Switching to a civilian doctor was a smart move on my part. Was put on insulin, metformin, and a couple other meds. Lost weight I didn't need to loose. Blood sugar levels were up and down daily. Then I simply stopped all meds in November of 2022. Went to a very low carb diet. Lots of protein and exercise. Today, my blood sugar levels are stable. No spikes or drops. I now take a high power multi vitamin and 2,000mg. of cinnamon. That's all, and I've never been better. My doctor was amazed. She thought at first I was wrong about this, but the A1C tests proved good. After 20 years of being type 2, I'm no longer dependent upon any meds. Yeah, metformin was not all that great for me. Glad I beat the odds.
Avocado/egg combo are great choices if u leave out the bread. Hummus is great too, but make it yourself to avoid the bad oils used n commercially produced hummus. Plus leave out the bread!
Well there are hypoglycemic and hyperglycemia so bread and oatmeal might be ok for hypoglycemic but def not for hyperglycemia. Hypoglycemic is low blood sugar. Hyperglycemia is high blood sugar fyi
I love your ideas and thank you for sharing this to the people like me.I'm also doing a diabetic low sodium diet for my husband and I'm sharing it also to the world.I'm so glad we have youtube so that we can share our informative ideas to others.
I found out I’m a diabetic a couple months ago. I’m seriously stressed out about eating, I don’t have a scooby what I’m suppose to eat. Just to make things 10 times worst I’m a fussy eater. So I don’t like vegetables and most foods. I honestly hate this. The struggle is so real
Since losing too many teeth and being one of the few people who cannot manage a denture due to the gag reflux, I really missed nuts. Then I bought a cheap coffee grinder which also does linseeds. Plenty of different nuts most days including almonds. I usually have them on weetbix with milk or with a little good quality ice cream with some water to wash them down of any lumps not ground down enough get caught in my throat.
I never like this nut and walnut but watching your video how wonderful of benefit of this nut so I want to have a try because I just join in the club nowso i have to do something for myself thank you so much GOD BLESS YOU
Thanks Dr for your kind information I am a diabetic and would like to know that should I consume almonds on empty stomach or after food and I take medicine on empty stomach so can I consume this nuts after medication or before. Pl let me know.
Yes, you can eat almonds on an empty stomach or after eating, but there are a few things to keep in mind: 1. Before taking medicine: Do not eat almonds right before taking medicine. Some medications need to be taken on an empty stomach for better absorption. Eating almonds or any other food right before taking the medicine can affect the absorption of the medicine. 2. After taking medicine: Yes, you can eat almonds after taking medicine. This may help reduce stomach upset that some medications cause. 3. Benefits of almonds for diabetics: Almonds contain lots of fiber, protein and healthy fats, helping to control blood sugar and feel full. They also provide many vitamins and minerals necessary for the body. Note: Please discuss with your doctor or nutritionist to ensure that almonds are suitable for your diet and treatment regimen. Thanks for watching our video!!!
What about organic Bananas are they in the same group with the regular Bananas ?? Didn't see anything on this in the video, but I did enjoy watching the video.
Same group as regular bananas. Avoid eating bananas when hungry. Eat bananas in combination with foods rich in fiber or protein, thankfor watching video !!
Thank you so much for the great information Sir. I'm actually addicted in eating bananas, but now i know that eating unripe banana is much better than ripe one, to lower our sugar content to our body......
Low fat is recommended not because it will increase sugar intake, but because attention needs to be paid to the quality and type of fat consumed. Here are some reasons why people with diabetes should manage fat in their diet: 1. Saturated and trans fats: these types of fats can increase the risk of cardiovascular disease, which people with diabetes are already at higher risk of. This fat should be limited from processed foods and fried foods. 2. unsaturated fats: these types of fats, such as those from olive oil, nuts, and fish, are good for heart health and should be consumed. 3. Weight control: managing fat intake can help control weight, which is important for effective diabetes management. People with diabetes should focus on consuming healthy fats and controlling total fat intake, rather than completely eliminating fat from the diet. Thank you for watching our video.!!!!
Thankyou for this. I always want to make healthy snacks for my mum as she's diabetic but am unsure where to start lol. I am interested in making her healthy pumkpin spice latte but it may taste bitter without the usual sugar/honey.
Part of my issues is my picky palate. I don't like SO many things. I can still get some snacks fom here. I love sweeter, savory items more, But this helps. good luck.
I've eaten a strict low carb diet for 25 years now. I have several friends who are diabetics and my main issue is that a diabetic diet isn't a really low carb diet. It tends to depend on the glycemic value to level off blood sugar instead of fixing the real issue of too much sugar in their diet. We hear this high carb food is low on the glycemic scale so it's okay to eat. The thing is it still has the same amount of insulin requirements but spread out over time. A strict low carb diet lowers the total amount of insulin required. I eat around 12 carbs total a day. My diet consists of meat, fats, seafoods, eggs, cheese, nuts and seeds and around two dozen low carb vegetables. For low carb, winter squash is out, tomatoes and peppers and onions are limited, no grains, potatoes, corn, rice or beans. All are high carb foods. Blood work done twice a year shows no dietary issues and my triglycerides and blood sugar levels are at the bottom of the recommended range. I'm not suggesting a diabetic suddenly go to a strict low carb diet unless they can work with their diabetic doctor to adjust insulin because the requirements are very likely to change. What I'm saying is doctors need to change how they are treating diabetics to reduce the need for insulin and that's a very low or even no carb diet.
For every video telling that certain foods are bad for this or that, you can find sites that say the exact opposite. My doctor told me to test 2 hours after eating a food to see if it was good or bad for you. Everyone has a different reaction to foods.
My daughter drinks lots of water and urinates with the same rate, there are no other symptoms to show if those have anything to do with diabetes. This is a good information that I have gone through Diabets Care She is 2 years 9 months, hale and healthy, have not done any blood test. But I am not certain if one can get diabetes at such a tender age. Please I will like to know more on that
