I love Blackberries and Raspberries alongside Blueberries and placing them in plain Greek Yoghurt is quite a desert, although I have to limit this to 2x a week as dairy can be a burden to my body. I'm tempted to try Goji Berries. I love Pomegranate seeds (usually 2-3x a week tops). People run down bananas and it seems to be the norm these days, but I get on much better with green bananas and they don't cause throat clearing issues for me like the ripened ones do but they may not be advised for diabetics but then I'm not a diabetic so it is not for me to say really. The yellow bananas do cause a blood sugar crash in me however but the green ones don't (thankfully) so I will keep them in for post gym workouts - alongside a small handful of cherries. I didn't know that info about the apples however. Coconuts I don't really bother with but I do take a spoonful of cold pressed organic coconut oil from time to time. I did have the coconut drink from the coconut itself though when I travelled through Thailand in April 2016 and I can attest, it is refreshing for a while. Grapefruits are too sour for my liking unfortunately, but I eat a few Oranges from time to time, but in limited doses as more of a post gym and dance workout. As for Avocados, I cannot stand either the texture or taste of them. They're just slimy to me, but that's just my personal taste prefix admittedly. I would love to know where to get the high protein low carb bread though that is mentioned in the "14 foods to lower insulin spikes" as that looks nice and I cannot find any bread that I'm really suited to. I don't get on well with most modern grains at all. I'm better with fruit, veg, meat and fish, and maybe this is more of a Northern Celtic thing for me.

According to the American Diabetes Association (ADA), although they contain sugars and carbohydrates, eating apples and other fruit is not a problem for a person with either type 1 diabetes or type 2 diabetes. Apples contain a different kind of sugar to foods with added sugar, and they also contain fiber and nutrients.

Do sweeteners like, equal, splenda & truvia spike blood sugars? I use Stevia the most I was just curious because I am a type 1 I prefer stevia. My dad is a type 2 & he prefers truvia & splenda. I was just wondering if there is a difference. Thank you for the fruit tips. My favorite fruits are sadly the bad ones. Will have to change my favorite fruits because I do notice the spike.
