Bonjour! My name is TN and I've had years of experience fostering/owning cats and helping many owners with their cats whether it's about behavior or the litter box.
It's become a passion of mine to help prepare people to care for their cats/kittens properly, especially in smaller spaces such as apartments!
HELP: i’m working with a stray cat who is not ready to be inside 24/7 yet. He gets panicked. so he’s inside outside and his nails are long and sharp because he needs them outside. But I’m afraid that if he and my resident cat get into it, somebody will get seriously injured. I don’t know what to do. I can’t cut the nails until he is 100% indoors but also can’t risk harm to my other guy. advice?
Me waking up at 3am, cause my cat is going into the cupboards. I thought I had rats for the longest time.. nope just my bengal getting into the bread! If you live in a small apartment I would just suggest leash training your cat. My one cat loved to go to work with me and in car rides!
Bruh I'm rescuing a cat from my sister's in laws who were about to put him in adoption and I have no idea what his brand of food is, his behavior, likes and dislikes, I'm just diving head first cause he needs me and from my cat community they say the cat chooses you when you adopt what do you mean look for a personality that matches my old cat, if one is lazy and the other active they are fine still happy cause one plays and the other relaxes
The kitten I just got doesn't play nice with my adult cats. How do I stop her from trying to strike their faces?. So far, she has injured my adult cats eye. There just play fights as they all get along. I think the kitten was abandoned
Your tips are really great. I saw and read so many knowledge about cat behavior all these years. But this is really good. But one thing is awful in your video. Just one bowl for 4 cats???I hope this was just for demonstration. This is really not a normal way to feed your cats please give them all their same bowl. Would you? ❤
It also helps to rub a blanked or T-shirt on one of the resident cats and rub it then on the new one so they can smell the familiar scent. Also the same the other way. Works great
Oh great, finally found a video for a different type of space to introduce cats as i have no doors in my house except for the obvious, bathroom and front door. Brought home two rescue kitties today and my "ol lady" missy wasn't appreciative at all. Looking forward to getting good tips from this video. Thank you so much for the upload.
Got our second Kitten on Monday night, first 24 hours were a bit rough with all the hissing and swatting from the resident kitten who we've had for a few weeks. They're now playing and eating together with no problems. Thanks.
"You move some furniture and preso!" I love that. Excellent music, wonderful descriptions. Very grateful to you as I am a new cat parent. "Catify" - how about that.
Unfortunately almost none of these applies to our situation. We have 2 boys that are about 8 years old. A local stray that’s probably about a year old has chosen us as his humans. We’ve just started the introduction process, we’ll probably have to do it the traditional way with the isolation.
We've adopted two 'babies', they turn 2 months today actually, and we have a 'senior' kitty, Lambeau, who is 16, so in 'cat years', yes, he's the 'get off my lawn' kitty... 😆 We get to pick up Ole & Ava tomorrow & bring them to their 'new forever home', so it'll be interesting to see how it goes. I did make over & 'kitty proof' the guest room, & set up their new beds in there so they'll have their own space when they need to get a little time apart & each they &/or Lambeau need a break. We fully plan to make sure Lambeau still gets his individual 'Mommy/Daddy & Lambeau time' so he knows he's not being replaced. Oh & like Lambeau, we plan to have Ole & Ava spayed/neutered when our vet suggests they're old enough.
Does someone have tips on how to reintroduce cats in a small space? My mother let me aunts cat live with them temporarily without introducing them correctly. Ever since my cats have been distant and hissing when they come near each other. It wasn’t a problem before because they lived with my mom in a bigger space but since my moms boyfriend didn’t want them, they now sadly live with me in my one room apartment. I don’t even want it to get worse so I want to get straight into improving their relationship
I have a question about getting your cat inside their carriers. For example, if there's an emergency, and you need to get multiple cats in their carriers for safety.
I have 2 females that were fixed almost 2 weeks ago. They are litter mates. They now don't get along after being fixed, will this help them too? My one cat seems to be okay but my other ones having a harder time with it all.
What should I do if my roommate and I have to go to work during the day and don’t feel comfortable leaving two new cats alone by themselves? Is it okay to separate them for a few hours or should we leave them together?
Our resident orange cat is 14 and we are introducing a 5 yrs old tuxedo. Oscar is the orange guy. Oscar will not go near the room where we have the new cat. Oscar even seems like he hates us.
Any advice i have a 3 month old whos very territorial and just brought in a foster thats 2 months. The foster has been with other cats and shes nonchalant but my 3 month old wont look at the toys when i try to initiate play.. ive even tried using two wands at the same time but she wont focus on it. Its just day one but if anyone has some tips that would be helpful
Hi, my cat somehow isolated herself from the other cat.. at one point she forcefully tried to run away, by using windows.. not eating at all, and didn’t use her litter box for the entire 2 days until I let the other cat out from the house and whenever she saw the cat, she hissing and screaming way too loud. Is there any solution to this kind? I’ve tried 3 different cats that I've adopted, and none of it works, the cat that I previously adopted ended up at my mother's house 😢
Why do people disturb sleeping pets? Wait till they wake up on their own... We got our Toyger at 1yr from the shelter and after 2mo working with him he still love bites but never uses his claws. From the 2nd week with Tiger I sat down and looked him in the eyes and laid down the law... yah right. But you have to back it up with actions, food/toys and holding'em... re-iterating not doing the unwanted behavior... Not hitting, spraying or pitching'em across the room. Hope this helps as well...
i already ruined my cats introductions its been a few months already but the older cat hates and is terrified of the new one.. 2 male cats age like 1 and 3 .. am i hopeless?
