68 Camero removed wheel jacked up control arms to provide working space. Greased bump stop with silicon placed rubber in position. Lower jack which pressed bump stop into hole done.
You do a great job with this video. I wish you had taken the carb out and given it a cleaning, I need the help and I trust your methods. Mine has sat for about 10 years with fuel in it without having been drained out during its last time running. I have slowly pecked away at the maintenance items you have done, but now I need to clean the carb and fuel lines before I start it up. Thank you for the video.
Thanks for the video and process. Lots of work and effort. And did it your self. Nice Question now that you moved the rail into place does it stay at its new location without a wield or anything to hold it? Probably a dumb question.
The only question I have is whether or not you should've tested the cooling capabilities during the day to simulate the heat of a track day. But I don't think it'd have been significant enough to make a difference.
I could listen and watch you all day ! I sure could use this modification on my gasser. Car was built in late 1960s, 1/8 mile English Ford Anglia... some good old boys built this car with what they had in the shop back then.. so things need upgrading. my straight axle can actually tap my oil pan on a major bump in road going 50 mph. I like your mod upgrade alot, its brilliant 👏 thankyou for sharing your knowledge!! Im a rookie when it comes to custom mods but willing to learn... ps you are very talented, beautiful equiptment, and your explanation on things are very thorough. You have my follow - sorry for rant
Why on earth would you NOT make the mount REMOVABLE? And install some sort of flexible cushion to make the engine less rigid for a smooth vibration-free operation?
Bad Dog- nice clean precise work, however where’s your face shield? You’re teaching young guys to be dangerous….. Thank you, you’re a very proficient guy. I appreciate your detail, planning and welding. Tell the old lady you’re GOING TO BUY A FACESHIELD.
Call me Boomer but I won't mess with the OHV engines. Flatheads are much better. Still have a running Reo Rev-O-Lawn and a Clinton powered Buck Rogers looking cast aluminum 20 incher, tail fins in back, teeth in the front. Nice job on yours.
What do you think about the chrome powder. I am thinking about doing the intake and valve cover on my mercedes om603 motor but I haven't heard much feedback on it.
Just serviced my EU about a month ago. Battery died about 15 years ago. My gen is in an aluminum enclosure on my car hauler race trailer. used the pull start as I was too lazy to pull the case apart. After sitting all winter it would not start. It took me 2 hours to take the compartment apart since the torks screws stripped. My buddy serviced it, runs great now. At the time I did not know the battery was so accessible.
The problem with that becomes power. These fans eat up power (the puller currently connected uses 18.5 amps. I am not running an alternator and the MSD box does not work wight under 9 volts
I went to Empire Radiator for the radiator (they took a long time). That is not DW40 but window cleaner. Just enough soap to let the hoses slide on. You hit the nail on the head, there is a Sunoco right down the street. Have a good 4th
Very COoL (see what I did there). This video is definetely a "Gas" and as my son tells me, also "Rad". Go figure. Kids today Love the shop - pls adopt me! Appreciated the tip laden video. Thank you. Cheers from So.Ca.USA 3rd House On the Left
So SAD! Manufacturing in this country is collapsing \, more and more do i see defected garbage being sold. The idea of doing the best Job you can do and taking pride in your work has greatly declined. Come on America get your SHIT together man- step up!
My question sir is do all the Blocks have to 2 tapped holes to mount it to the Block??? I got one for my Boat but at the moment engine still in boat so I dont know if my block has the 2 tapped holes for the insert Thanks.
How important is it to set the shift cable length with it in neutral? I bought an unfinished project off a guy. 2004 Sierra with th400 swap. Originally I couldn’t get it to engagePark. I set the cable length by using park on both the trans and shifter, but now, I don’t seem to have a neutral position on the shifter that give me neutral on the trans. Could setting my cable ship in park be the issue? (Just happened earlier today, so I haven’t tried resetting the cable length yet). Thanks to anyone that can provide any info on that. Great vid too!
I would think that it was very important. If the shift cable shifter and trans lever all be in park and your cable length set that way, the other end of the range (first or third) could be out of range???
this man right here is genuinely an amazing human, I watch him every time a video releases and I particularly love watching him build and modify his engines.
Thanks for the information. It wasn't the solution for mine, but it helped troubleshoot it. My unit would light but would then shut off after a bit of time. Indicating a thermocouple. Checked voltage when unit was lit, only got .009 to ,011 volts (or 9 millivolts) from the thermocouple. Just for giggles I also let a long Bic lighter under the thermocouple, the voltage went to 25mv. Checked thermocouple mounting, it was loose, apparently allowed the Thermocouple to slide away from the flame. Adjusted and locked down. All is fine. btw my unit is a Dometic RM2807 in a 1995 Southwind.
Sir: Just a word to the wise: I don't see a flex plate scatter shield bolted to the engine/transmission. NHRA rules for a Stock Modified class. I do understand that you are in the Gasser Class. See ya!
Nice set up. Should make it easy to keep the battery fully charged! I had the red Optima in my 55 and the yellow one in my Anglia now. Both worked great.
