Hey Kyle Awesome day! Hey have you played with other downrigger clips? I see your using the Scotty clips. I am testing out the chamberlain release. Still trying to dial it in and not really sure how it will do in the saltwater. My problem was reeling down to get the slack out on the scotty releases and it popping off. I have tried braid and mono for my mainline. Also tried just using a loop of mono under the clip on my mainline. Any tips on the scotty clips: are you putting the mainline deep in the clip or just to the scotty line....Great Video. Thanks!
Thanks! This is actually the one I like to use: amzn.to/3PC5twE My friend severed the downrigger braid and we lost everything so I had to fall back to the Scotty release clip
Awesome video thank you. My son and I live in Port Angeles and are newbies to chinook fishing. I understand to chase marks, but generally speaking, how deep are you dropping the downrigger ball in how many feet of water? is there a general depth contour to follow on the troll?
There is a good depth contour to follow. The most typical and productive is that 90-120' line. You might be chasing marks from 50 ft down to 100', it just depends. Thanks for watching and appreciating the video!
Maybe I'm weird, but I so much would love to have a 100,000 gallon aquarium with an octopus that big in it. They definitely are my favorite creatures on the planet, especially the mimic octopus.
Yes feeder chinook means a fish that's still thinking about food and less about rivers and spawning.. my understanding is the closer to there home river they get the less bitey they are.
Just imagine what else is bigger inside the ocean. What else is more terrifying than a group of Orcas on the hunt or a Great White Shark that's about to torpedo through the waters from below? I don't really want to know the answers, I'm scared as hell to be honest. Land over water any day. Respect for all the sea men and women.
@PNWBestLife how does the shrimp not go through that net? Just saying but shrimp would not stay in a net with 1" holes..... I can call my Honda a lambo but doesn't make it a lambo
😂 because the shrimp are really big. They’re like 5 to 10 inches size. It’s my pot and I am the master shrimper. Don’t you think I would know about the type of pot this is? 😂 😂
Our border patrol is only there to take money from American citizens and give us tickets. ILLIGALS can float here with no life jackets, ID, its so sad all the hoops we jump just to enjoy our FREEDOM??? LOL
@@PNWBestLife Nothing like being forced into a search. Cops even need probable cause to pull you over and search you. I just wish they were out there to help when needed but when they have tickets to quota that's not America...
The boat was found, 10 days later, abandoned and adrift, with a shrimp pot hanging from the winch, and enormous piles of octopus feces littering the deck.
