Hey guys my name is Ben and welcome back to another video. Today I have pretty much retired and bought myself a Jaguar XJ8. This is a lovely cruiser, with a big V8, which needs to be unleashed...That'll come in a future video.

I recently bought my Jaguar XJ8 2001. I love it. So beautiful and comfortable. Everything he says is accurate. There is no need to rush when driving an XJ8. YOU are the show.

Lovely car and a bargain for £2k. I have an XK V8 Jag and I love it. Best car I've owned.

Nice review. Congrats on the Jag and welcome to the family. Some tips: This Jag has a hidden personality. When you push it more aggressively you will find that the "loft" in the corners is less than expected and actually you can lean to the curve of the corner surprisingly well. It is not a Porsche or Miata but for the 5 meters yacht is very good. To accomplish this you must learn to use the J-shifter. You can control with this the dynamic pretty well. I drive regularly on b-roads with my X308 and the cat is quite fun. And yes, this Jag is the only car in my collection that I can drive slow without losing my mind:)

Got an X308 and first thing I did was straight pipe the back boxes with a kit from Simply Performance. Made a massive difference, bolt on, easy job.

+1 on the relaxing feeling when driving a X308!! You are relaxed and don't worry about the world outside :-) Bevare, keep serviceing the "sealed for life" gearbox, thats the real weak point. Also there are some belt tensioners that made out of plastic and they can fail, make sure that they have been replaced or have them upgraded to a newer config. Otherwise bulletproof. Happy driving!

Got the same model 5 years ago, black, absolutely fantastic. I was gobsmacked when you did describing the change of personality... Did happen the same to me, no more swearing to cyclists and yeah... it does relax me, as soon I switch it on and drive put me in a good chilled mood. This car do not make you want to drive fast, but if you push it the jaguar will come out. It did belong to an old italian layer which hi did bought it new in 2001 when he was still in activity. Mostly it was in the garage. The son use to take the mother to church on the Sunday, but it did became uncomfortable for the old lady to get in and out due the fact it is a bit low. I got it for 5k Euro.

Hi, great review, I write for this model in the jaguar enthusiast club magazine, these are great cars I have had 4, 3 supercharged and 1 sovereign You should be able to get around 30mpg sat at around 60 if you have patience. The executive version on the 308 was the run out model to make way for the new model A lot of these executive models had extras thrown at them to “get rid” of the parts, so many of these come well equipped Enjoy they are amazing cars

I’ve owned a few XJ’s, XK’s an a gorgeous S Type with the British Racing Green and beige interior which I think is THE Color for a Jag (as red is for a Ferrari). Last week, I was lucky enough to find one exactly like yours! (Although LHD, of course). It has a cracked windshield and it’ll get here in a few days so next week it’s going to be my new daily driver for a while! The only thing that keeps me up at night is that mine, like yours, came without the leaper on the hood which is one of the many beautiful details and now I’m trying to find out some sort of blue so I can have it installed and so that the holes can be drilled right. Just be careful, owing such a beautiful Jag might spoil you for other cars, you’ll never be able to enjoy diving a Citroen anymore! LOL!

Mines sadly for sale 😭 I also have a jaguar leaper bonnet badge which would suit it well 👌

Had plenty of x300s in the past but every V8 I look at has been rotten underneath there shocking for it so it’s an alloy bodied xk for me just won’t touch them anymore for the rust issues ☹️

The most unreliable car I ever had When it ran well it was lovely, but that was extremely rare I bought it with a full main dealer history and yet it constantly let me down It would go into limp mode all the time for no reason and would work fine again if you simply turned it off an on again In the end, after some deep deep searching I replaced the cabin brake light switch and fixed it - unbelieveable The ABS module needed replacing - which on my model was an integral part of the dash. What the actual fuck!!?? Switches would simply stop switching, often halfway through doing what they're supposed to do The wiper just parked itself in the middle of the screen once and wouldn't move again until I replaced the stalk The rear left window wound itself down one day and wouldn't go back up until I had the switch replaced The battery would go flat overnight and in the middle of summer - an auto sparks could find no drain on it The car has 7 fuse boxes - they are everywhere and there are multiple fuses for each thing...despite that this is supposed to be a CanBus car!! There's a reason why they're so cheap and that's because they are a pile of shit. Best of luck though.

I get lost with these xj8 videos as someone who has been around many of these cars. If you have a lot of body roll than something is wrong. They should hold the road and handle quite well. If this is a big car to you then I can't imagine how a cadillac sedan would effect your senses.I would also like to add Its only comfortable to drive if your under 5'10". Lastly the UK videos never seem to feature the 4.0.
