When I was in my teens, the first thing that settled me down when it came to the diverse skin tones of humans was the roses plant: How come one can find all the colours on one branch of a shrub - black, red, white, yellow, blue, and so one? In my mind, I came to one conclusion: all humans are the same, regardless of their differences in skin tone. Right there and then, I decided to treat people based on how they treat me, nothing more, nothing less. So, as a black man, my task switched to finding out why the gross differences in technological advances between blacks, whites, and yellow people, were differences in brain power for the blacks. I wondered. This answer then came to me some 15-plus years ago, when I accidentally bumped into a website, newly formed then, called the Grio. This website listed the 100 most innovative black inventors at the time. As you can imagine, I spent the whole night combing through that website to learn more about those black inventors. I learnt then that literally, 70% of what the so-called developed world is enjoying today, were either invented or extensively revolutionized by black inventors: this is no exaggeration - the website had patent numbers credited to those inventors, and receipts to support their claims. Most of the people covered in this video were also covered on that website - the 300-plus products created by George Washington Carver for example. So, now that I have come to the definite fact, that blacks are not inferior to anyone, in whatever form whatsoever, my attention is now focused on whether or not stigmatization of the black body (the thing MLK talked about); institutionalized racism; state-sanctioned brainwashing; the religious dumbing down of innovative ideas; or chronic corruption is responsible for the gross differences in technological advances in the races today? The reason Americans become doctors in their late twenties is because of the fact that they spend 4 years as undergrads and then another 4 years in Medical school. In the UK and in African countries and in Europe, you go directly to law school or Medical school at 18 or 19, some even as early as 16yrs. I had a colleague whose son went in at 15 yrs and spent 6 yrs in college, graduating at 21. She’s done very well and I am proud of her. 🫶🏾🫶🏾👍🏾👍🏾
