While late to the show, the title caught my attention as General Colin Powell was my commander general twice during my tenure in the US Army. Not to mention, General Collin Powell was the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the highest-ranking general of the combined forces Army, Navy, Marines, Coast Guard, Air Force, and now Space Force. Since its inception in 1949, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff has been the highest rank for any general regardless of service, gender, or color.

As a USAF I was a C-141 Flight Engibeer. During Derserd Storm I flew in support of General Collin Powell, a 4 Star General at the time.

Effen-A to this General! 🤠😎👏🏾👏🏾 MY General was Colin Powell. When the DOD commissioned Camp Pine Drum to Ft. Drum. I was there Day 1 when it officially Ft. Drum. Served 18mths there with Frontline Infantry 3/14th I was "Doc" in 2nd Plt. Bravo Co. "BushMasters". Gen Powell came up on a Division surprise visit. All the brass & base commander were shittin' nickels, which was funny to us. But the Gen was cool like that. Laid back, chilled, smilin' (no photographers either) had our company come to attention, and open ranks, he took 45mins, to shake each one of our hands, asked us our Jobs, and was the finest officer standing upright and tall. THEN, came in us grunts & medics chow hall and ate with us. Said he always preferred enlisted chow rather than officers mess. He was ultra cool.

After watching this video, the thought comes to mind: "Generals and officials received awards, praise and an unthinkable amount of money, and African Americans, Creoles, mestizos and others simply died and their relatives did not teach anything, after Vietnam, desert storm, Hussein and other scoundrels," the United States simply sent to death those who wanted to serve country? It is not surprising that no one wants to enter the service and it is easier to go to work as a designer or programmer

Congratulations to General Garrett and his father for their outstanding achievements. The term African American does not identified blacks who are Americans. That terms only identifies with Africans who became American citizens after naturalization who were born in Africa. That term should apply to all races who were born in this country. Stop using the African American terminology as it relates to black Americans. It is a false narrative as it relates to people who were not born in Africa. It is horrible that people still have a narrow point of view as it relates to blacks in the military and other areas where success has been achieved through hard work.

@@1anre Come on Anre give a rest. Why do we have to identify anything from our ancestry other than we are Americans now pulling together. My ancestry is Italian but I certainly don't say Italian American. Do what you want, but I served 13 years in the military, 2 years Marines, the Nam and 11 years Army Special Forces and I learned an important lesson about race, and that is that the only color that ever concerned me was camouflage green. Either the video editor's research sucks or just trying to continue a certain "narrative." Why no mention of GEN Larry Ellis who was another black FORSCOM commander??? I see GEN Powell's name mentioned in the comments. What about GEN Lloyd Austin who eventually became SecDef??? GEN Austin was not a FORSCOM commander, but he now outranks one as a civilian.
