I started "InCloseHunting" to share the hunting experiences of myself, my family and close hunting friends. I loved watching hunting shows growing up because it always got me STOKED on the next season but always had trouble finding videos of BC, or Vancouver Island so I decided to do it myself and share our hunts with who ever wants to tune in! For everybody who enjoys my videos Thank you! And I appreciate any feed back I get.
Curious what you think of the North Island deer population of late? I moved to Gold River in 2016 and certainly saw many more does and rut season bucks than I do the last few years?
Great bucks and great video, I really enjoy your content man. I mostly hunt in reg 3 but might have time get some more isl trips in. Hope you find the monsters this year!
Looking forward to my first hunting season. I’m on the South Island… just getting my hunting rifle put together and going to get some trigger time on it. I’ve been trying to get some useful information on Island Hunting… and found your video really great. Thanks!!
@@inclosehunting2315 Thx man, well it looks like that has been working out pretty well for ya! Great vids thx for sharing maybe run into you out there, Cheers!
Good hunt guys , hunted the island for last fifty years, moved to the Thompson -Nicola area two years ago and i can say in the last two seasons i haven't got wet once.😊
I’d say roughly 100-120km Kinda depends on how good I do in my spots, I had a few dud days making this last video so definatly more km’s making this one.
Those are some awesome sheds! Love seeing them in the heavy timber. My wife found a huge 6 point shed here in N. Idaho. It would have been a 360-370 bull if the other side matched. Looked five times for the match but no luck.
Thanks! That’s a big ass 6 point, I’m not sure the terrain your in in Idaho but I know around here it’s usually quite a struggle to match up sheds. I defiantly have been getting lucky on the last few. I hope you cross paths with your match!
Our timber here is pretty thick too, not as wet as yours though. The wife and I archery hunted for this bull but never saw him. We thought we heard him once bugle back but never could get a glimpse. The bull would have been a No.1 bow kill by a woman we figured. Good luck@@inclosehunting2315
That's a crazy day your smashing some horrendously huge sets brother and then to get video of an upcoming fresh brown set that was epic, miles for piles and keep the video coming as I look forward to seeing you pick them Roosevelt's up yearly, just had a buddy move over to the island so maybe 1 day soon I can get back over there and find a couple
Thanks man! Honestly I’ve been getting good and lucky this year, defiantly putting the time in but finding some big ones! I hope you get over here and get a few yourself. I’m glad you like the vids I’ll keep pushing bush and putting them up haha.
Wowzers that's a dream day Sir such character sets kudos, I'd say grid every inch of that entire place even out to a mile that guy's last years sets probably not to far & this years oh goodness gracious I think I might dedicate a month going thru that. I'd love to come hunt dinosaur sheds with you good Sir wicked cool stuff my man 💪
@@inclosehunting2315 heck yeah Sir can't wait to see what else you find absolutely with out a doubt my favorite shed hunting channel, thanks for sharing your ventures with us all good Sir 👍& good luck happy trails & safe travels .
@@mattlillywhite6178 yea you got it, 350 is an awesome bull and anything over that, they really start getting the look! Thanks it’s been exiting for sure!
hey man nice video i like how u dont just shoot a buck when u see one your wise with your time finding a nice big buck because usually people see one and just shoot no matter how big it is unless its there first buck thx for sharing this nice hunt man
Yea, it’s a bit more difficult to move around without branches hitting him in the face haha. But he loves it, yea they might be a little later dropping this year but we’ll have to see I guess. Should be starting to drop in a couple weeks
Yea, we are in a bit of a rain forest here on Vancouver island. But if you put the time in on your boots and don’t mind beating yourself up a bit it could pay off, there are some big character Roosevelt walking around here. It’s cool hearing from you, I’ve been a big fan of hushin and your channel for a long time. Especially look forward to your shed season!
Nice pick-ups! Do you mind if I ask how far up the Island you are (just in general terms, like southern end, 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 up, or near northern end)? I'm not trying to home in on anyone's hunting grounds, just curious as to how relevant it might be in relation to the northern portion of the Olympic Peninsula. I'm across the straits from your island and plan to do some elk scouting this year for a couple guys who are coming out from the Midwest to hunt Washington's early archery season for Roosevelt elk this year. Seems that shed hunting might be a good way to begin the process. I'll be inland about 25 or 30 miles from saltwater and plan to begin looking around 1500 to 2000 feet elevation. If I can find anything close to those giants you are picking up the hunters should certainly find it inspiring. Meanwhile, I'll send them a link to your video!
Right on! I’d be sticking to 1200-1500 ft personally, and wherever you land if you can find good elk sign and find pockets where they like to winter it’s just time and boots on the ground after that
Awesome finds man & I have used hose clamps to stop tines from splitting so bad when drying fast. Sometimes you use a lot but surely don't guarantee not splitting but more often than not it saves those big cracks from really opening up
Thanks! And yea that’s a good call, I put them in my sun room that I don’t heat in the winter so they dry out slower. I made the mistake once of putting them right in front on my fire place haha
He’s back! Love the videos man keep them coming! Inspired me to get out here around the parksville area and do some shed hunting, even though it’s just a bush walk 😂 not finding nothing
That was an incredible matching shed find.. Hope you find those off the live Bull.. Awesome seeing you out with the family shed hunting also.. Keep up the great work- from the Kootenays
@@inclosehunting2315 would love to see you get a elk draw. I've never put in for the island as I live in the okanogan and I have opportunity here, but those rosies sure are beautiful elk.
Yea I’ve put in since I was 12 basically and nothing so far but 🤞 it would make a good video. Yea if you can’t hunt them without draw out there Thats awesome, there tasty!
