This is why if the company has the option, you pick Pre-bedded pads (Carbotech, GLOC brake pads has this option). From what I understand, if you use brand new rotors, there will initially be a few laps where your car will just naturally transfer materials to the new rotor. Then mid day when You and your car are all warmed up, the rotors are also bedded. The tricky part is getting your Track pads bedded as they are normally only going to bed at high temperatures. Therefore, Go for the Pre-bed option and don't gamble on screwing up (even though technically it isn't a hard process). - New Rotors bed naturally with use. If you are in actual racing and not for hobby, have the rotors pre-bedded for maximum reliability and consistency. - If you use Old rotors, it is recommended to clean them up with a sander and 80-50 grit sandpaper with brake clean. Then use your brake bad of choice to prevent material contamination mix. - Brake pads (track pads) need high temperature to start bedding process of the brake pad itself. The resins in it need to be burned off.
If there is no brake pressure i.e. when pump up the pedal after a brake install the car will throw codes and go into limp mode which can be hard to clear
What year or model when searching for front calipers z32 on rock auto? All I can find is 95 300 ZX and the have raise Nissan logo am I missing something because I don’t see the raiders Nissan logo on your calipers in the video.
Calipers: Fronts are 'new' copies of the infamous Z32 caliper. Rock Auto has stock. Rears are still re-man's and Rock Auto showed stock on those as well.
The EBC Bluestuff pads are working out great on this. They are quiet, have great bite and the firm pedal and good bite is making driving much more fun for me. It will still need higher temp track pads for any real track work but for the street this is a solid setup with a big improvement over stock.
We've added a kit with front and rear brackets and front and rear brake lines to our website. www.knsbrakes.com/products/car/108630_2023+Subaru+WRX+Manual+Transmission-No+Elec.+P-Brake/items/item/134755
Exactly what I was thinking!!! Very expensive. Especially when the older sti model brembo calipers already mount right up and all you need is either a spacer behind the stock rotor or new rotors
The brakelines are made for the swap - i.e. Subaru lines with the Z32 end fitting. The rear design is a 4 line kit to angle off of the mounting tab correctly.
Great video, how is the right quality for daily use on those coilovers. I had a set of fortune autos on my VA that everybody raves about and they were not good. They were not good. Everyday ride quality was crappy. I’m curious to know how these feel.
In Cary NC the roads are overall pretty good and the car is fairly transformed with the coilovers and brakes. Firm but not harsh. A bit of coilover clunking but so far I am liking it a lot.
@@RealSprooseMoose novasandfriends demonstrates disc brake calipers fitting into an old 14 in. rim. Is a WRX a heavy car needing bigger discs? Are you talking about using your WRX for racing? Elaborate your scenario further.
Based on your prior recommendation, I ran an XP12/10 combo on KNS rotors at VIR this weekend with good results. I took the first session to bed them in, and they continued to improve throughout the weekend with transfer and heat. I was in the mostly stock Electron Blue C5 Z06. I'll walk over and say hi next time!
In your previous video you mentioned the Z32 caliper upgrade that can use the stock rotors on the VB. Is that hardware ready for us to order? Is it safe for me to start shopping for Z32 calipers now?
Carbotech has there AX6 compound that you may like. Prepare for some dust and possibly noise from compounds like that but stopping power is greeatly improved.
I do not have a Stinger - (I wish) but I know the SP are a good lower dust type street pad. In the range of RedStuff or Hawk HPS 5.0. The XP's are pretty aggressive but I need to get them on a car to see HOW aggressive. They are a high quality Australian brand
I just put raybestos coated rotors and akebono proact pads on my wifes crv, and those brakes feel WAY better than whatever crap came on my new vb. Embarrassing! LOL
