He probably would have real established his dominance but at the same time, I think the party and the women he probably would have continued down a destructive path you and if it didn't lead to him ever going to prison. The bigger question is, if he never left his original team.?
The first Rocky movie was more heartfelt but I understand why you put the 2nd too as a 1 2 combination (no pun intended). Bro, you mentioned how Don King did Holmes. I can't stand that scumbag. He did Tim Witherspoon way worse. It's crazy how evil ppl can be. Two movies I thought of were The Fighter and Million Dollar Baby. That was the first movie that made me shed a tear. So sad at the end.
You may find this interesting, but Henry Winkler, The Fonz, was instrumental in helping Rocky become a reality. He and Sly were great friends and Henry helped Sly when he first came to California. He also took the script to the film studio and vouched for it, and also helped prevent the studio from replacing Sly.
Canelo needs to fight the winner of Beterbiev/Bivol Crawford needs to fight Haney thats the fight I wanna see Ryan vs Tank Pitbull vs Shakur mannnn its alot of fights I wanna see I wanna see Jai Opetaia go Heavyweight because I think we have a Mike Tyson situation coming because he is way more skilled than any of the current Heavyweights and has the KO power

Ok...my Canelo comment lol. There can be many reasons why Canelo is not knocking out boxers. Yes... he is a natural 160lb but he was not knocking out guys at 160lb either. It's the level of competition too. Now yes. The BJS ko was great , but other top guys Canelo did not KO. Amir Khan was the smaller, already exposed chin guy. You even mention how the 168lb guys were not "thumpers". Going to the level of competition argument i had, this is why i don't put Canelo in the all-time ranks (top 30). Sure i have him around top 40, but not all time status. Those guys at 168lb will not be considered in the top 15 168lbs all time. That's why i think Canelo needs Benevidez (I honestly think Canelo would win by the way). Here's a topic to think about, where would rank Canelos undisputed run compared to Crawfords, Inoue, and Usyk. One can argue that Canelo had one of the weaker runs. Just saying. Lastly, i think that the ambition of Canelo is off, along with his age are why he is not KO boxers. Canelo is approaching mid 30s and said that he has "nothing to prove". He and his fanboys have this "he did good enough" attitude. Canelo does not care about being the actual "overall" GOAT. By the way, You and Sam are not Fanboys of Canelo. You are like me with Andrade. We are "fans" who point out mistakes the fighters have. Fanboy mentality is that their favorite boxers make no mistake. That's why i respect you two. Canelo is on this cruise control at this point. As always, great content and... you keep me on my toes too lol. My love and respect and love for the two of you. Can't wait to see Sam back.
What's good Tre. Still praying for you and Sam. This was a robbery. Despite Felix being the champion, De La Hoya was the A side and money and politics got involved. I scored the fight 116 to 112. I guess that's why i say it's a robbery. De La Hoya is overrated to me. He lost many big fights. I think he lost to Quartey and Sturm. Definitely overrated to me but Oscar was a tough guy who had great skill and fought all the top opposition. It's the later rounds where he screws up the most (Which you agree Tre). And...i think it was Luigi Minchillo was the Italian guy you were talking about that made Hearns struggle.
Tyson hired a FCKING tax attorney for this. Then acted like an ahole through the whole thing. Being well read on it, the guy got railroaded. But his decisions outside of that didn't help. That hook-uppercut is what nightmares are made of😂
Thank you for the great comment! and I hope you have subscribed for future episode updates, and to help our channel grow. But to answer your comment, I do remember him not taking the trial seriously as he presumed in my opinion, that his fame would grant him some kind of immunity. It's a shame, because If he would've stayed in the ring, I think boxing could've reached even higher heights than it had in the 90s.
Not a close fight AT ALL. Sturm’s jab snapped back De la Hoya’s head all night. It was clear Oscar was too small to do anything to sturm. Clear win for Sturm. Oscar in my opinion lost to Ike Quartey too but got a lucky decision
You are not wrong! after rewatching the fight size was the obvious factor, not so much skill. Also, I should've brought up in this episode how DLH was in the height of his addictions and wasn't close to who he was as a fighter. With all things considered, I still believe Sturm would've had his way with him.
For me the greatest robbery will always be Nikolai Valuev vs Evander Holyfield if Holyfield got the decision as he should’ve he would’ve been the oldest champion and the first 5 time champion and plus he would’ve gotten a shot against Wladimir Klitschko or Vitali Klitschko
Due to importance at the time and what it meant for legacies, hands down, the greatest boxing robbery of all-time was Hagler losing to Leonard. It was a joke.

Interesting perspective lol! Thank you for watching and for commenting on the channel. Please subscribe to help our channel grow and to get new episode updates.
The real tragedy of Mike's life and career was losing Cus D'amato, if he could have stayed around a few more years then Tyson could have been incredible in the ring and might have stayed out of trouble outside the ring, it's a real shame.
Yes it is a true sports tragedy and one of a kind "WHAT IF!" Who knows where the Sport of boxing could've gone?!?! Thank you for watching and for commenting on the channel. Please subscribe to help our channel grow and to get new episode updates.
Man, I would've loved to have seen that bout! Thank you for watching and for commenting on the channel. Please subscribe to help our channel grow and to get new episode updates.
Holyfield and lewis would have fought him at a younger age. by the time they meet he was washed up tyson. I still think prime tyson would have beat lewis
That's an interesting perspective, and I would've loved to have seen a younger lewis v Tyson bout. Thank you for watching and for commenting on the channel. Please subscribe to help our channel grow and to get new episode updates.

I think better question is what if Mike stays with Rooney... still think he would have a big chance beating 90s top fighters like Holyfield, Lewis etc... but good video anyway 🫱🏻🫲🏼
Thank you for the prayers my man! We appreciate you very much 💯! I’ll be a one man show for a while to keep the boat afloat, but hopefully Sam will be back sooner than later!
tomato cans what about that guy ruddok he had no reason to fight. Him a second time and he did Tyson overrated you just lost most of your subscribers if people see this garbage from a jelly belly
By 1990, Tyson had already been given a boxing lesson by Buster Douglas and ducked the number one contender Holyfield. Tyson dominated the poor quality late 80s and as the 90s dawned there was a crop of much better fighters emerging with Lewis, Morrison, Foreman,Mercer and Bowe. Tyson got whupped by Lewis and Holyfield twice, and I dont see him beating the others. MT would have struggled in the early 90s.
Great topic but just impossible to rank. But when I saw today's topic I immediately thought of Naseem and ...Macho Camacho. Man, as a kid, I couldn't wait to see Macho enter the ring. It was like watching the WWF (now the WWE). I never seen the Eubanks entrance, great call. It's even amazing how Steve Collins zoned himself out the distractions and focused on winning the fight.
1. Roy Jones vs James Toney (Thuggish Ruggish Bone) 2. Mike Tyson famous DMX entrance 3. Floyd vs Canelo (just the arrogance of Mayweather that fuckin smile on his face)
The correct answer is that he would of had the holyfield fight and likely lost that as well. Besides holyfields obvious steroid usage and headbutting he was also just an excellent and strong in fighter and a horrible style matchup for tyson. tysons showings against a just decent razor ruddock who lewis obliterated kinda show what we're thinking here. I think the late 80s were a weak era and while Mike was a phenom and becoming the worlds youngest heavyweight champ a record that still holds today is amazing and respectable, his style takes so much work and concentration that noone could keep it up as he was too small to fight in the division without it. Holyfield at no point was ever scared of tyson and a prime riddick bowe would also probably wear him down. Tyson is a great just not an all time great heavyweight as most boxing fans know and agree. That title is for the alis, foremans, joe louis, who overcame defeats and adversity to become or regain their championship. Mike just had a demolishing run in a weak era and regardless of potential didn't become an alltime great like he could, would, or should have. A shame really.
The bigger question is.."which one of these current 140-154 pounders would have beat Crawford in there prime and how?" Because from my own eye test, none of them have shown me that they have the ability to beat a chameleon who has KO power in both hands and is ambidextrous. DO you trust any of these top fighters to out think and beat Bud? none of these fighters have shown me that they can..real talk
Tyson never fought and beaten an elite fighter in their prime. Tyson would lost to Holyfield within 1 year if he didn't go to prison. Tyson never had the skillset to beat a fighter with strong boxing fundamentals and ring IQ.
The main question should be, what if Mike Tyson stayed with his original team. The minute he changed his team and had Don King and his cronies around he started to decline rapidly; he started getting hit a lot you can see this in the Bruno fight; he started throwing one punch at a time, stopped moving his head and the bounce in his legs was gone. The Tyson who fought Spinks would have creamed Buster Douglas and given Holyfield a worst beating than what he got in the first Riddick Bowe fight. Even with the loss of his original team, I still think he beats 1992 Holyfield, but possibly losses the rematch to the 1993 version that defeated Bowe.
I think the bigger What if is - What if Mike Tyson not only didnt go to prison, but stayed with Cus's guys after his death, kept his trainer and stayed as focused / trained as hard as he did under Cus / Kevin. He doesnt lose to Buster Douglas, he most likely beats Holyfield in Oct 1990 (when the fight was supposed to be) and probably beats a 1991ish Lennox Lewis. A 1991 Tyson still focused and still being trained by Kevin and disciplined isnt losing for a while.
I think after the Douglas loss Tyson was never the same again . Had Tyson not gone to prison I believe Holyfield would of fought Tyson in 1992 instead of Holmes . I believe Holyfield would of beat Tyson in 1992 . I also agree with you TRE Tyson would have lost to Bowe , Foreman , Lewis , Mercer and possible even Morrison . We would have seen some great fights in those 3 years Tyson was in jail , it's a shame it didn't happen .
To answer your question about the status of boxing had Tyson not get arrested, i think the mentality of boxing would be all about knocking ppl out. It's exciting but it effects displaying the art of boxing. But as for the popularity of boxing, next to being like mike... Jordan, everyone wanted to be like Tyson. Boxing would place 2nd to Basketball
I don’t t know Sam. I get the overrated opinion on Mike. But i I believe that had he fought the way he fought Larry Holmes……. He may have beaten all these dudes (Lewis, Holyfield, Bowe, etc) I 100% understand Holmes was past. But just watch that fight! Mike feinted, he had bounce, he moved his head ALOT, he threw combos! VERY different than the ONE-PUNCH-AT-A-TIME Mike after Douglas.
Larry was a cherry pick. Larry was old and hadn't fought in 1 year and 9 months when he fought Tyson. Tyson never beaten a elite fighter in their prime. Tyson would lost to Holyfield within 1 year if he didn't go to prison.
I believe that if Cus Dmato was alive, Mikes career would have been better. Dmato would have held Tyson more accountable and have matured mike better on and off the ring. Remember when Ali demonstrated the shuffle to Dmato and Cus stopped him in his tracks? Well i think Cus would have taught mike more on adjusting vs Taller boxers. I honestly think it's Dmato stayed with Tyson thru those years, then Tyson would have about 3 losses instead of 6.
