Heh, trying to collect Sisters on a budget, that's ambitious. If you want to build Sisters on any sort of budget, you had better be prepared to kitbash. Many Sisters models, especially characters, can be kitbashed mostly just by swapping arms, heads and decorative pieces. Be prepared to sacrifice a box of Battle Sisters as martyrs for the cause of being kitbash bodies. If you can manage to get an old Combat Patrol (the one with a Rhino), be sure to snap it up. It's a great deal, though it does come with the downside of monopose kits with limited loadouts. You'll need to get your weapon options from other kits (Battle Sisters, Retributors and Seraphim), but you were going to buy those other kits anyway. Don't build the CP Seraphim straight away; use parts from a proper Seraphim box to build them as Zephyrim where possible, and the non CP models as Seraphim. This one is the big one: the Novitiates Kill Team box comes with a whole lot of spare arm bits that aren't used in their 40k loadout, but can be used on spare Battle Sister bodies to create a Dialogus, Hospitaller, and Dogmata. Note though that you need to find a 40mm base for the Dialogus and 50mm base for the Hospitaller if you want to be strict on correct base sizes. There are also whips to make a Repentia Superior if you need an extra one of those, a Condemnor, and an Eviscerator. You don't have to buy a Palatine. She's basically just a fancy Sister Superior with Plasma Pistol and Power Sword. Giver her some decorative halo on her backpack. An Imagifier can be made from a Battle Sister Simulacrum bearer, you just need a hooded head (eg Sacresant) and a statue to put on her stick. Immolators have a decent statue on their back. The Seraphim box comes with enough backpacks and arms to turn 5 Battle Sisters into Seraphim/Zephyrim, whichever you didn't already build, so long as you don't mind their more static pose. You might need some tactical pillars or rocks on your base to get them an appropriate height above it, if you're strict about that sort of thing. You can kitbash a Canoness into a Jump Canoness using a spare Zephyrim backpack, a Sacresant halberd, or power sword and Sacresant Hand Flamer. Again a tactical rock to stand on may be necessary. You can turn a Rhino into an Immolator by sticking two copies of a heavy weapon onto its turret (like the unused guns from another Immolator for example), swapping the Stormbolter for a Heavy Boltor, and adding enough decorative bits you might convince yourself this isn't just a heavily armed Rhino. TBH this is not pretty, but Immolators are expensive and seemingly forever sold out. And of course you can turn Heavy Flamers into Multimeltas as described in the video.
@@Speeds_Gaming_Corner Yeah. Kinda interesting how well that box seem to fit the Penitent Host detachment! Even though I'm leaning more towards the Army of Faith detachment myself!
I'm trying to pick an army. Currently I'm deciding between the knights, custodes and eldar. Your videos are always very helpful when making these decisions.
So on that front, the idea with it is similar to how the Kroot detachment in T'au works. Where most detachments get 1 detachment rule to compliment their army rule, these detachments don't get to use the army rule. As a result, they get effectively 2 detachment rules.
Before you all get excited about how cheap Custodes are you should know that GW have substituted the Auramite from lore with the plastic from real life. They’re really small too; like, table top small 🤦♂️
I feel like some of the points in this video are outdated: • we basically don’t have any fights first (apart from Aleya and i guess fall-back-and-charge strats) • we now have answers against dev wounds in stratagems across Shield Host and Talons, along with the Talons detachment rule
I think it should be noted for the 2nd 2000pt list that the assassin's & lord inquisitor are no longer listed on the GW shop page and are a little more difficult to obtain. Mainly for the callidus assassin :)
On list 2000 #2 you have both a Callidus Assassin & Lord Inquisitor Kyria Draxus. Is there a rule preventing you from taking both of those? Asking b/c my list builder says that's illegal.
@@gottagame9000 Double check the size of your game. In an incursion game you are limited to 1 character unit, but in strike force you are allowed 2. At the top of new recruit you can change the Battlesize
T'au is my favorite army, but its hard to suggest people try out as its very expensive. It's not that far off of Admech in terms of cost. Necrons can be surprisingly affordable especially since there are a lot of them on secondhand markets.
@@Speeds_Gaming_Corner I'll keep this in mind. I'm looking into getting some books for the factions to research a bit of lore. But it's good to know where the minis stand in relation to one another.
I love all of those armies, but be warned. Ad Mech is one of, if not, the most expensive armies, as opposed to Custodes which is on me of, if not, the cheapest
Tip for Buying Sisters of Silence: Buying one Box of Sisters of Silence can build 15 Sisters of Silence. You have the arms and heads to make 15 Sisters, just not the bodies. So you buy 1 Sisters of Battle Battle Sisters box to get 11 bodies, replace the arms and heads, and then you are left with 15 Sisters of Silence with all the weapon options, 1 extra sister of battle you can do whatever with, and save $60-100.
Love the vids, glad you put the effort in on this one, but I would be lying if I didn't say I was hoping you would get to Custodes and just have an 8 second video saying "Buy the Combat Patrol twice"
A warning for the rubrics, the boxes only come for the parts to make 1 sorcerer, 1 heavy gunner, and 1 icon of flame. Making extras of those will require kit bashing or buying extra parts to build 4 squads. You need at least 1 sorcerer per squad, the soulreaper cannon and icon of flame are technically optional.
As someone who plays Thousand sons, I will also say that I have never had an issue with anyone over the second sorcerer. The heavy flamer proxies perfectly for the soul reaper cannon as the only special weapon in the squad, and telling your opponent the icon of flame is on the special weapon unit resolves any issues there.
@@Speeds_Gaming_Corner the main issues are there is only 1 staff, so having some other indication of who is the sorcerer, and there is no heavy flamer in that kit. If you have other kits like the exalted sorcerers kitbashes are easy.
Can't just give away a full list since it'd a paid sub benefit and it wouldn't be fair to those who pay for it, but my suggestion would be to buy an extra box of legionaries and play around forgefiends with the dreadnought who's name I forget
Oh yeah, been looking forward to this one since you first mentioned plans for updated videos. That was around the time I got the idea to save up some money for some Iron Warriors.
A typo in my excel sheets told me that the combat patrol was chosen, not possessed. While the points are identical, the lists would obviously need to be corrected for that. I'm going to leave this video up for a bit so people can get the general ideas and will release a fixed version in the near future with the proper lists.
While the hobby of printing isn't for everyone. It should be considered for those who are willing. I have found a lot of creators for world eaters, and a few of them make better looking models than GW. They have more khorne iconography, and it's in better detail. Some come with bases included which are covered in skulls. Love it. To each their own though, happy wargaming.
So I have leviathan, plus 20 extra termagaunts, norn emissary, death leaper, 1 lictor, 1 nurolictor. I have no idea what I’m doing lol. I’m like between your first 2 lists. Do you have a recommended hybrid with the new updates? I assume I need a couple of good big gun bugs and a hive tyrant. What else would be worth it? Ideally I want to use the norn and all three lictors as they were my favorite paint jobs.
The tyrannofex got a huge buff recently and is looking great for tank killing. I really like the look of 6 zoanthropes with a Neurotyrant. If you really want to run a norn I suggest synaptic nexus. It got some very awesome changes. Since synapse adds +1 strength to some much stuff it makes hormagaunts much better in the detachment as S3 -> S4 is one of the best breakpoints in the game with all the T3, T4, T6, and T7/T8 bodies that you get +1 to wound against.
@@kylegwyn4172 I'd start with sidelining the screamer killer, although it might be good with the new strength boost. Probably cut the neurogaunts (I don't like them in general) and cut the barbgaunts.
I don't play nids so I can't say for sure if it's good, just an idea I think is worth looking into. If you have tabletop simulator I'd suggest trying out a lost with 2 units of 20 or 4 units of 10 and see how it feels. If you don't have tabletop simulator you can look at how to install it on my channel.
Crazy part about the Astra Militarum CP, is that if you look at the army as a whole, the Infantry is what ends up costing you out the nose, especially if you magnetize your tanks/vehicles, you buy 3/4 leman russ kits, 2-3 dorn's, a couple of other vehicles (many of which can be magnetized to be an either/or type of deal like the Hydra kit) and off you go. It doesn't FEEL very good, but GW gave us a discount on the most expensive part of the army...so objectively speaking, it's better than its reputation says it is
@@Speeds_Gaming_Corner Tau is just a painting project for me but if I could form a KT then sweet, if not then that's cool too. I can't remember if Tau are part of the upcoming CP Hachette magazines but if they are then cool.
Great video especially for someone new to the hobby. Want to start start salamders but not sure what box or combination of boxes to pick up. What would you recommend?
Thousand sons combat patrol will never not be funny to me. I hope when they remake it they just remove the 5 terminators and add another 10 zangors just for the laughs
