You don't want it? Then you shouldn't have agreed to their terms and conditions, you can be a smart arse about it all you like but you agreed to it or you wouldn't have the router.
Bravo, čestitam za uspešen funding! Btw: VAT (oz. DDV) ni enako kot davčna št., saj ima seveda vsako podjetje DŠ, ni pa vsako podjetje registrirano za DDV. Vse dobro!
As a pentester I love it. As a Data advisor if they are upset it means I am doing my job. And if they wish to charge me - I'm one speed dial away from a *Lawsuit*
Not every ISP allows Bridge Mode!!!!!! My old Fritzbox from Unitymedia does not have one, only after hacking. The new ISP Vodafon allows Bridge Mode, no hacking needed.
I bought the FS module mentioned in the video and it works great. However, the downside is It didn't want to work directly in my server PCIE network card with SFP+ port. Worked in Microtik switch though. I had to return it sadly. I hate the ISP provider's GPON -> RJ45 converter... But I gave up for now. Oh P.S.: I'm from same country as Tomaž =)
In the us the won’t let us manage the channels.. working on getting my own modem/router but this one is ridiculous. Specially when I can only connect to 2.4ghz on my security cameras.
The English dictionary desribes the words (and definitions) that others have used previously. It is not a list of words (and definitions) that we are allowed to use. Hack the planet ;-)
I don't know if it's been raised already, but go get a DUNS number (an international company number), it's free and with you being based in Europe it's what a lot of businesses will use if you want to create accounts locally to you using the business entity (at least in the place I work)
Will you also do the "Delaware C-Flip". It starts with the non-US company beeing the parent one, than flip, and it becomes a subsidiary of the US one..
14:29 To have that space between the different ports-classes makes it easier to find them, in case you have to wire them blind. That hole, is there a reset button behind it? It might be harder to get to it, when all network ports are occupied. What about putting the USB3 ports between the 1GB and 10GB ports? That would make it easier to distinguish. IMHO 🤔
Delaware is overrated. You should have done a lot more research before registering a company in that state - there are better states. The fact that is the most popular one doesn't mean it's the best one. There are many more other real business advantages/disadvantages to consider when choosing a state. For example have you checked what happens if you decide to close the doors and liquidate the company?
I don't know so much about this topic. But I want to share how gigabit internet is works on Turkey. My IPS provided two devices. The first one is Huawei Optical Network Terminal. It's a small device with its own power adapter. It has an optical input port and ethernet output port. I don't know wheter it has its own IP or web interface. The seconds one is a Zyxel router with WiFi 6. It receives Internet via the ethernet cable came from the first device. This device has its own web interface, which my ISP can modify remotely. On this interface I can see the authentication details such as PPPoE. Because I want to use my own Deco mesh WiFi devices, I disconnected Zyxel router, and connected my main Deco hub to the optical terminal. Then I configured my Deco to router mode with PPPoE credentials. It works without any problem.
Wow they have you hardware? My isp won't give me anything without charging me 10$ extra a month on top of the 70$/mo for 300mbps down and 25mbps up. Welcome to America.
I don't get it? Fritz!Boxes are the most stable, reliable thing ever. In 20 years, I never had to ever restart one, they never fail, they never just die on you. In the last 20 years they had ONE POTENTIAL security problem, which got fixed immediately and released for all models. Why would you ever need to replace it with an inferior device? If you need specific stuff for your home lab or work network, simply keep this as your external Firewall, and run all other stuff like DHCP, DNS, NAS, etc. on a server like a Synology NAS behind it. The Fritz!Box then simply is a free firewall and media access converter. That's what I do. If you need to deactivate TR-069 because you don't trust your provider, you can do that in the router, it has the option right on the settings. I think this video, and your whole tone, is simply reactionary and sensationalism. It is not rooted in reality. While I admire your technical ability, I am disgusted by you bashing onto something and calling it ugly and using hate speech. It is the lowest form of commentary.
Fritzbox is great for private usage. I dont think he hates it, he just expressed some stuff not clearly enough. Also i assume its a custom modified Fritzbox from the isp and not a stock one.
Do all Fritzboxes have a backdoor for the ISP or does he just have a custom one from his ISP? (I thought avm is a very reputable brand and they wouldnt do such shady stuff)
Step #1...Buy your own...would never use an ISP that requires you to use their equipment. I have cable...I use my own cable modem and I use my own router/networking equipment.
In the UK, you could have done all by yourself. I am from Europe, and I have established a company in the UK 9 years ago, with £15. But it is not a tax heaven like Delaware. Indeed the process is well documented and straightforward, and you can do all online.
For the layman and beginning IT afficionado, this content is OK. This content is less valuable by way of some generalizations are simply inaccurate for those more experienced.
I went through a similar process. Or actually my process was more theoretical and I only bought what I actually ended up needing. In my case I got Nokia G-010S-A which was conveniently listed by my fiber infrastructure’s website as OK module to use. Ended up looking at my ISP’s GPON serial from their own web mgmt page and simply setting it on my Nokia stick I bought for 27$ on EBay. Along with my TP-Link BE800 this is working great.
Taxes are a cost like anything else, of course the need to be taken into account. It is so easy to have opinions about what other people do, don't let it affect you more than is necessary.
I used to have a connect pro 3monitor kvm for switching between my personal desktop and work computers, but after a while i just got fed up with the random issues I was having and unified under a single linux system for gaming and work! Much better experience than trying to swap between systems.
Kvm needs to be expanded to Video, Usb, sound. Macs have issues when you switch usb devices. My mixer and sound both have to be switched off and on after switching. Same thing happens occasionally with the logitech dongle. Both manyfacturers have pointed that is a mac issue, which is frustrating.
I would much prefer to have diagnostic LED's visible without opening the device. To think of having to open the device upon an internet outage to just answer "is it me or them" sounds absolutely horrific. Maybe a 'window' width a sliding cover, if you're adamant to hide them. (opinion of a curious observer only)
