Going to Galveston this weekend for 4 days I have some fishing rods I do bass fishing I’m from Dallas Biggest stoutest rod I have is a leviathan bait casting swimbait rod xxh up to 8 oz lures Anda shimano scorpion jdm Wondering if this is even a good set up and if you could share your spot with me coordinates to be exact. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!
I'm one year too late, I've wanted to fish this place with those wonderful lights on. I have seen other RU-vidrs make videos of the bridge at night, for now I have to stick to the darkness. I caught my artificial PB 32" Red here last December. One of my best moments. But yeah I hope someday they can bring those lights back on. Great content and tight lines 👍
Hey bid i just moved to Bolivar. Can you give me a hint where this spot is. I have an idea of where but not sure. W9uld the word "Broken" sound familiar if i went there?
Hey bud. Just moved to Bolivar. Watched your video when you caught the big black drum with your dad. Was wondering if you could hint to me where that wade fishing spot is.
Yea it stinks for a lot of folks. I live pretty close to the water and go just to go a lot of the time. But I understand for a lot of guys it’s hard to justify heading all the way to Galveston for 3 fish.
I went to sea wolf park yesterday and was disappointed in the damage as I always fish behind the sub and it was blocked off. Tried the pier for a while and just left.
sooo may I ask any advice on how better to get success with those crabs? The few times I’ve tried, they get ate up by bait stealers and a big one doesn’t have time to take it, or something, but also maybe right place wrong time like I mentioned in my other comment.
You’ve got the right idea with the whole right place wrong time thing. Since we’re in the middle of summer there are a ton of bait fish out there and for the most part these fish are locked in on mullet right now. I love using crab from October - April time frame.
You can obviously catch the big guys anytime of year but these last two seasons I’ve been focusing on diferente species/ style of fishing depending on the time of year. I’ll release a video one of these days on the best fish to target for the time of year. Just need a little more time to figure everything out. Tight lines & thanks for watching.
3:39; i went to the north jetty a few weeks ago in July 2024, a few days before Beryl. Tried to hike all the way to the boat cut!😅 almost made it haha. but anyways along the way, I noticed crabs basking on the rocks during low tide. I thought ohhhh i have been wanting to try that technique because I am inexperienced on that one mostly do inshore with artificials. Well I netted a a couple of those crabs with my landing net! I got skunked that day😂 woopsie. But i felt overly accomplished for having snagged a couple crabs with my landing net in that way. I “know” they are drum candy, per se. Seen lots of yours and MDLR’s and others’ videos! So I knowwwwww it works. But goshdurnit if I ain’t been at the wrong right place at the wrong time, lol. But yah that’s another way to get crabs as I am sure you very well know! Being that you fish way more than me and all.
I like to fish by the feel of my line. With the slip cork your mainly relying on the visual cue of the cork going under where as with the jetty cork you can feel the bite and react a bit faster.
Hey so I have a question to ask you I asked your dad on one of his vids that my birthday is on august 20th and I was wondering if he could reach out to like me or my dad about him trying to ship me a old town troller moter kayak like y’all’s and I would really help me out a lot I love kayak fishing just like y’all and that’s all I want for my birthday so if you could ask him that I hope it will come true cause it would mean a lot if it happened so if you could reply back to this comment it would mean a lot. By the way I am turning 12
current price on the TCDike During the summer months (first weekend in March to last weekend in October) there is a $10 charge per vehicle to enter the dike on weekends. It is free during the winter months and summer weekdays (Mondays through Thursdays - unless they are holidays). On holiday weekends (Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday on the Fourth of July and Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday on Memorial Day and Labor Day) the fee will be $20 per vehicle per day. The cost for a weekend pass for an RV is $30. The fee is only charged to those who drive a vehicle onto the dike. People who want to walk or run or ride bikes onto the dike do not have to stop or pay to enter the dike.
if you're free lining have a splitshot about 18" above the hook. do a 7 or 8 count to let it sink a little. you guys are in about 12'ft of water. then do a little bump on the retrieve like a plastic.
