Pickleball gets people playing. I don't enjoy it. I don't like the toy ball or the solid paddle. It can be played with a slower tennis ball with racquetball racquets and it would be great fun. I must be describing padleball. In the meantime, enjoy your half-baked game!
Some of those scream grunts just hit a nerve...soooo irritating and the players themselves must know that it's ridiculous. They can hear that others don't do that. Federer is silent...he does fine.
It is irritating and can affect your opponent. In all fairness to the nature of the game of focus and physicality, they must set a rule for loud grunt.
Hawkeye should show us camera footage of the replay instead of a computer generated graphic designed to confirm its call. It makes me not trust the technology that they won't show us the actual footage.
What is with people getting violent over allowing another sport to be played, like it'd be one thing if the tennis courts were outright removed but to open up space for a new game isn't thobad especially if there aren't as many tennis players.
it's not grunting....it' SCREAMING in the case of Sharapova and her ilk. totally ugly and should be an automatic penalty each time. A real grunt is fine...SCREAMS are not.

I started watching tennis when my mother introduced us kids to Billy Jean King, Chris Everet, Martina, in the middle and late 1960s. I took a clinic with Stan Smith and Rod Laver in the late 60s and watched tennis up until the grunting became prevalent, and I don't watch much anymore. Even with the sound down.
Good parallel is martial arts feats of breaking stuff with bare hands. They also scream to improve release energy. But they don't have anyone to distract, so it may work as good baseline.
There are two distinct groups here. Players at Bollietieri academy are taught to grunt after hitting the ball to disrupt the opponent. Many players make grunting noises AS they hit the ball which is relatively harmless. If you want to know what the difference is try yelling "HEY" at a golf player during their downswing. It is bs when players make any noise while their opponent is swinging. I think it should be penalized honestly.
The reason so many today want to play Pickleball is because of the low skill requirements. The reason Pickleball is terrible to watch is because people are entertained by watching others do things they cannot do at their average skill levels.
What is missing from your analysis, as from many other "analysises" is the PITCH of the grunt. The pitch of Sharapova, Azarenka, Sabalenka are very high. Did we ever complain about Francesca Schiavone's grunt? It was loud but low pitch. No one cared, as well as with the grunt of the men. But people generally find high-pitched sound very annoying and disturbing.
