Brother, I’ve been having that issue for a whole year and nothing new with the thermal valve. It had nothing to do with the idle air control valve and once I replaced every single thing, the knock sensor code was the only thing that popped up. I literally just bought one and I’m going to install it when I get home. I know your frustration, brother. I got a nice Paul Walker paint job our 34 and then this happened and I’m like great and the H22 is very sensitive.
Sorry to hear that. I'm glad you at least are getting closer to solving the problem and getting back to driving your car. It's very frustrating but I also learned more about the car so I can diagnose and fix better. Thank God. H22's are very sensitive when it comes to air leaks.
So I'm going to look at a 1991 honda prelude soon. And the guy mentioned the car not shifting out of park withou the override key. I was wondering if this replacement will help?
The directions just said to bolt up the seat belt release on the side of the seat mount with the hardware they provided. The seat belt is still in it's original location.
@@automotiveobsession7265 I did remove the seat belt cable and plugged in to the Recaro seat, but the airbag light still on even I took out all the cable from the old seat and connect to the new seat
Looking good, got to be a lot of weight savings. The prelude hood is crazy heavy. Curious to know how many pounds it reduces. Looking forward to the next video
Thanks. I didn't have the chance to weigh the each hood but Iv'e read that its around 30 pounds give or take a few pounds. I can tell you from my personal experience that when I go to open the hood now it's a lot easier than before because of the weight difference. Stay tuned for more videos.
No. The reason why it fits civics is because the engine is tilted forward allowing space for the intake manifold to fit. If you tilt the engine forward in the prelude then I Belice it will work since it’s a clearance issue.
I spent last winter sorting out the rust on my Prelude. Had to replace the inner and outer rear arches also. Damn near stripped the whole car so I could coat the whole underside and put a few gallons of Waxoyl into all the cavities too.
I thank God my car only has surface rust in some areas and with some sand paper and a wire brush I was able to take it off. I also did more work to prevent more rust from coming back. Wait until you see the next episode and see what else I did to the car.
Hey bro when I replace the iacv would it be best to bleed it from the radiator or the little screw? And how long do I need it bleed it for? I'm afraid the bubbles would be so small I might miss it and not know when it's good to go 😅. Thanks for your help bro! 😊
I usually bleed the entire system. From what I remember the manual says to bleed the system until you see and hear the radiator fans come on. This should take about 15 minutes. If you have a radiator funnel kit it should help with bleeding in general and you can the bubbles more clearly. This is what I do when I bleed the system for any reason.
Thanks for the video. Unfortunately my 2.2L 1997 Prelude's IACV doesn't look anything like the IACV in this video. In fact I can't even track down a replacement IACV for my Prelude. I just had the engine rebuilt and it runs great except the idle which is rough and jumpy. Could be TPS or O2 sensors, but more likely the IACV. Getting a little freaked out by the fact that I can't find a replacement or locate a mechanic to clean my particular IACV.
They don't make replacement IACV for the 97,98,99,2000,2001 prelude's anymore. I got lucky I made this video when they were still available because I had another issue with the car and it's idle and I believed it was IACV and had to buy used one's because there were no new replacements. Later I found out it was not the IACV but even used they are getting very expensive. I wish you luck trying to fix the IACV for your car so you can enjoy your new engine build. If I can find anything that can help I'll comment it here.
It was tough but you can remove it with a flat head screwdriver. You have to find where the ends connect to each other like on a jewelry chain. The new filter should bring a new spring clamp. To connect it you should just wrap it around the intake hose and connect both ends and make sure it's in the correct position on the intake hose.
Its on the left side of the car under the intake. It's literally tucked right below the intake just try to pause the video where the photo is and see if you locate from there. I'll make a youtube short if you still need help. You have to look at it from an angle on the left side of the car and use a flashlight.
STUPID YOU IF YOU DON'T FEAR THE LUDE, UNDERRATE IT OR DIS IT COZ THE LUDE,IS LIKE THAT NOBODY, AND THAT NOBODY IS JOHN WICK'S BRO,AND IS JUST AS TOUGH!!!🇭🇲💯
It's not a dumb question. It should be that there is a leak somewhere in that area. Check the hose for cracks or holes and also check the fittings if they are old and losing strength. Just replace the hose and the fitting.
Thank you for this video bro! My car is idling the same as yours in the video. also when I try to take off from 1st gear slowly it jerks so crazy. Hopefully it'll fix this problem.
I don’t have experience bleeding the clutch but since you said you used one from the donor car then I would try to get a new one if possible. Maybe that old one is messed up.
2:02 Not a Philips screw. It's a JIS screw (there's a little dot stamped on top to indicate this) and requires a JIS screwdriver. Otherwise ... you will round it out.
Thanks for the information👍 but I didn't call it a philips head screw I just said you can use a flat head screw driver to help loosen it carefully without scratching the outside metal part of the valve and also not damaging the plastic slot in the "JIS screw".
@@automotiveobsession7265 It's at 1:36 when you say "Philips" - my bad. *Those* two holding the end cover of FITV are the JIS screws. If you pause at 1:37 you can see the little dot on the top surface of the screw that's still in place.
Thanks for posting this clip. The exact hose on my prelude was leaking coolant through a small little hole but was gushing out like crazy. Definitely replacing soon. I had to seal it for now due to budget. Thank you!
Anytime. Glad it helped. That’s how it starts by leaking out a little bit of coolant and then if not fixed it will leak all of it out at any given moment.
I had a vacuum issue because the throttle body was leaking air past the throttle plate. There were no ECU issues and I did not have the chance to fit the stock intake before I had to re install the stock throttle body.
My starter died so I'm waiting for a new one that i ordered for it. But before the starter died that auto D4 light was flashing? What's the reason for it ? Is it just like a check engine like saying theirs a fault in the transmission? I did a scan and found no faults so I'm unsure of that flashing light.
If your speedometer is giving you problems and the D4 light is flashing the most likely cause is a faulty speed sensor. D4 light means there is something wrong with your transmission. Finding out what is another process.
@@automotiveobsession7265 yeah I'm not sure and oddly enough the speedometer has given me no issues everything seems accurate but I'll have a a look at the speed sensor anyway just to be safe.
You are flushing the dirt into the engine!!! Wich is catastrophic on a FRM (H22 F20C C30/32) engine. You should remove the intake manifold and clean it completely
@@automotiveobsession7265 yes my brudda 😁😁😭 I kinda forgot that I am currently live in Thailand which is a very hot country so guessing that they don't need to connect the heater and by the way your videos helped me alot bro I learn so much of your channel keep up the great stuff G 💯💯
@@yungzu3359 Thanks man that means a lot. Glad the videos helped you. I would try to find a way to remove that block off plate to allow the coolant to flow through after installing a coolant hose. Let me know how it goes.
