The Air Force discourages Airmen from divulging their ship dates, locations, and times of movement. I ask of my commenters to not post ship dates on my videos. Thanks!
Nice bit of nostalgia with this video. I hope you’re still going at it! When I hit 38 and realized if I had stayed in (fuel systems) I’d be retired with my whole life still ahead of me. Great video. Loved Swing shift!
Currently a A1C, with a year in service. Any advice for trying for trying to receive a nomination for the Academy, from a Mustang such as yourself? Currently in security forces, but I want to commission and return to the career field.
Congratulations Sir!! This actually gives me hope for the Air Force I once served in!!! 1985-1991 F-4s F-16s... Stayed on outside Spangdahlem ... never went back Conus... God Bless you!
94 Grad here. I was like "You gotta be f@$ing kidding me!!!" then I read the comments...lol BTW "Chicken tendies and mac" is NOT a celebratory meal. lol
A few decades ago, you would pick your job with your recruiter and it was guaranteed. But that was not long after it became a all volunteer force and they needed folks.
When I went in decades ago, the paper that showed all available bases to choose was so outdated that 3 bases showing on it for me to choose from, were all to close in the next year and were not taking new troops. At least now, you can see where we are needed. Needless to say, I was 1000's of miles away from where I wanted and this lead to me getting out as it seemed that if I reenlisted, I would be at my same hell hole for another year or two and then go overseas, so I got out. My bases choices were not popular by any means. I chose some in Oklahoma, Kansas and Missouri. But to no avail. I always wonder to this day, if they had given me just one of my 8 choices, actually 5 choices, since 3 were closing, that I would have gotten that being close to home out of my system and I would have stayed in. Sadly I was just a young kid and could not see the big picture.
They lied to me at some local College so the recruiters could get a commission. I end up having to pay back all these loans when I could have became a EMT at any Community College and signed up for the FAFSA and the state fee waivers 😮 people just seem to be getting Dumber too and they don't realize that nobody wants people that only went to school online. I hope this message gets to the right person because we need more people in real life that aren't scared to do Hands-On things or talk to people.
As someone who got rejected 2028 and is applying next year-what did you do to improve your application every time? And was there anything that stuck out your last time when you got accepted?
I’d laugh at the MTI’s at USAFA having already been through BMT, not that I wouldn’t take it seriously. Just having to go through that shit again is funny.
your story is completety and utterly inspiring, your strength to never give up makes me believe i have the chance to pursue my dreams and i hope you know other people think this too
I have some questions: Are high school students the only people that can apply? If I continue to be passed on, can I continue to apply the following semester or year? What’s the oldest you can to be a cadet for AFA? Any information would greatly be appreciated.
Other people are allowed to join like military personal and other regular civilians. And yes! You can apply after highschool, it just might be harder to be accepted though. And I think the oldest is 23!
I love your videos but how do you guys at graduation get your hats back, if you do at all. Sorry I almost just feel that's something I'd want to keep as a token of graduating.
I'm not american but i'd really like to go to USAFA.I have dual irish and italian citizenship and i really like the vids about the academy.I just discovered your channel and i love it!
