2014 autobiography Loads of problems on dash intelligent braking not working cruise control not working besides warning signs , bought the kit and fitted except one o ring missing on solanoid emailed them and they are sending a new set out , everything works now all warnings and cruise control and ibs working , before finding 4x4 rang all Land Rover dealers and none would sell kit and would only supply new compressor 5 star service
I have a RRS SC 4.2 from 2008. 3 weeks ago when I drive the back wheels lift up on to highest. So I drive 20km pr hr back to home. Now I have a problem again with my air suspension compressor! It keeps running even without the key in it. It stays running. Now I take the battery of. Yesterday the relay, one air suspension left front and the valve block on the front passengers side i replace for new. Compressor keeps running. Check the compressor and the air tank with soap water and no leak. The pipe line front wheel also no leak. I don't know what to do anymore. Now i think it is a part of this compressor. Can you give me tips. I am tired 😫 😩 😴.
Ive often wanted to know what the "Gallery Pressure" is?, I thought it might be the air resiviour? I note when my compressor went bad the gallery pressure would drop to about 120psi like a slow leak say 1 psi every minute then the compressor would cut in again and again etc and overheat the motor. (2010 L322 with genuine original Hitachi) Im goinng to order your seal kits and clean and re seal the valve blocks, I guess the blocks and pistons / vlaves dont really wear out just the o rings ? or with high milage should you just put new blocks in do you think?
You forgot to mention the seals on the 3 connectors which go into the block. I put it all back together then had to take it apart again to put these on. Should have followed the instructions. If you had a sheet per block, there wouldn’t be any o-rings ‘left over’ Useful video nonetheless Thanks
No the cylinder isn't chrome plated it's hard anodised,no need to lube big end the bearing is usually a sealed bearing with built in lube ,the whole unit is designed to run dry .
@@4x4airsealstechnical99 thanks for that, reason I asked about the bearing was on a Wabco / Tesla pump there are two desiccant tubes in series whilst the first was wet the second was dry but the bearing went out @ low miles and the motor housing was soaked and I recon it had washed out the grease but how if the second tube was still dry? This is the twin compound pump which I guess is found Audis too. Have you done any of this type?
Not really had experience with the twin compound pumps i know the wabco units we have dealt which are all similar to the dodge ram unit ! never had the con rod bearing go down, if their is a lot of water ingress in the housing itself then perhaps this can take its tole on the big end bearing. thanks@@pollywollydo
I have a C1A20 again. In the past it was air dryer cap (which i replaced with aluminium one) but now many many years later its happened again. I sprayed with water and no leaks but if i force it to raise it sounds bloody awful like a bag of bolts does your master rebuild kit fix this awful noise?
Hi, Unfortunately we have noticed that the aluminium covers which are sold by other sellers have been prone to leaks at the operating pressure 16.8 bar ,our own in house manufactured covers are manufactured and assembled at the operating pressure of the vehicle without leakage ,if u artificially put into 15.8 bar to 16.8 bar of air pressure into the air dryer of the compressor then spray leak detector around the fittings on the end cap this will test if the cap is causing the fault ,if u require a replacement cap after your tests please visit our website www.4x4airseals.com
Hi do you guys sell the Dunlop air dryer? The reason I ask is because I ordered and air dryer but it did not fit. I can send you a picture of the one I need. Thanks
Can you pls explain the working ? There are three air connections. One is blue, and the other two on back side with big diameter. Which is air output and air inlet? Thanks
I replaced my Hitachi air compressor to the arnott compressor now i have fault code C1A20-64 and C1A08-1C i also replaced valve body module by air compressor i can't figure it out my problem
Looks like the same air dryer unit as on the Wabco compressor on air suspension equipped 955 Porsche Cayenne models too. The air dryer on mine had exploded so it was interesting to see how the parts fit together.
Hello, I took the compressor off the truck and tested it with a 12 volt battery and the motor does not power on. Does the motor need to be replaced or can be refurbished? Thanks
I just got a 2009 sport .. 71k miles … my compressor turns on for about 10 seconds then off … the car has been stood a while yellow light on dash …. Makes a very bouncy ride … is it new compressor or a repair kit I’ve done the relay
hi, We Would Need to know which type of compressor u have fitted !1 of 3 types oem hitachi aftermarket dunlop or amk ,we can supply kits for all 3 ,u can send whatsapp picture of your unit if req 07908 479400 f u get your diagnostic codes read that would be good so we know what system the vehicle isnt happy with ,thank you
Useful video, I bought the kit and straight forward job with the right tools, but I’m not sure the larger beads is an improvement on the original size, perhaps this is to do with availability.
good day 4X4 AirSeals Technical I have a 2023 LR4 Discovery with a fault code C1A13-64. "Pressure does not decrease when venting gallery". I have checked the compressor is a Hitachi. Please advise on the faulty parts and also the costs for the supply. I live in South Africa.
Sir, I had been following you along with this while servicing my Hitachi. The metal perforated disks are not all the same diameter. After trying to place the first disk at the bottom of the dryer canister , I was having trouble getting it to lie flat as you put it. Actually it got jammed in and I had to deform it a little to get it out. I stopped and looked at all 3 disks and one is smaller and fits easily in the bottom. The other 2 fit fine near the top. It is an important detail that should be noted......
I had the code and opened it up to find the symptoms, condensation, dirty as hell, Orderd your kit cleaned it all up, put back togeather plugged in and bam suspension issue straight away, Assuming it's becuase its been taken apart and needs to fill up, Reset the system and started it back up, played with it up and down and all was well for 5 min, then when lowering on access hight it done it's usual and jacked back up to extended mode then gave me a suspension error again, Anyone have any idea?
Good instructions and a tip, if I may. I'm yet to dismantle one of those bad boys without snapping one or both of the T30 torx screws securing the cylinder head to the block - figures, with the OEM screws being mild steel and the body being Aluminum = AlO3 (Aluminium Oxide) and or/corrosion. So, when you snap one of the screws, and a part of iit is stuck in the cylinder block, simple cut the remaining part of the stid flush with the face of block, being very careful not to damage the mating surface, then drill the leftover part through with a 4mm drill bit - I recommend the toughened Dewalt steel bits for this task. Be patent, and make sure the hall is centered well. Once done, simply die the hall with the supplied die bit and you're done.
Hi Just fitted the kit you posted - many thanks. Will be refitting in the morning but have one quick question. At 4.30 minutes you refer to a seal but it's not in the kit. Not needed to be replaced?
Hi, thanks for the in-depth explanation. My question is: could this stuck exhaust valve prevent the vehicle from lowering at access height and immediately rising up to normal height? Could it be in tandem with the clogged dryer? Thanks for your kind reply.
hi how can i purchase this kit please?? i keep coming up with dtc code or reservoir pressure static when filling !! and the mechanic said yesterday that the solinoid was sticking abit yesterday?? any advice would be greatful im determined to fix the problem myself !!
Excellent video, and as novice it was exactly what I needed (Parts 1 and 2). I got the LR3 kit from you in 2021 but only this week plucked up courage to give it a go. Luckily, only the front block appeared to have a very minor leak and replacing the O-rings has done the job. I noticed that the old rings were quite worn/dirty/compressed so I expect the middle and rear blocks will need a service before long......but that's for another time. Thanks for making the job so much easier!
You missed the second number 3 ' O' ring on the middle solenoid that brass piece comes out and there is another identical one inside the brass piece can go either way round as the spacings and position of the grooves are identical. I know because I measured them!
hi, the problem with the amk unit is that its been designed not to come apart without breakage to the piston itself extremely difficult for the normal garage mechanic and machine shop mechanics ,i will provide a video shortly on how the amk unit is assembled on the piston / conrod side of things but i dont think it will ease the pain for dissasembly ,we can manufacture quality seals no problem and have done !but if customers cant fit them its a smooth experience from both sides , thanks 4x4team
Got an x350 with one of these pumps. The suspension jacks itself right up solid when you drive it. Can let the rear back down with the diagnostic but the front won't. I've read there's an exhaust solenoid on the pump that might be seized? Likely cause? If you don't let the front down by loosening the pipes to let pressure out to normal height soon as you start it it jacks the back end up to match. If you do let the front down its fine and stays where it should be until you drive it... then its back up on stilts and rock solid. Any suggestions before I scrap it!? 🤣
Hello there. make and year of my vehicle is 2002 4.4 L322. when I just got my car, there were strokes on the rear right side and when I started the car was straightened. As I left, it became difficult for my car to get up. and now I turn the switch 20 30 times, the car starts with power. Is this problem caused by the filter?
Hi my retain but was corroded very bad and the thread oxided together so I need to tap the thread , that is the thead of the Ade bolts so I can get one please
