Bought one and the lock mechanism didn't work so i had no way of turning it off once i ignited it lmfao. Blowing the flame out and yanking the lock button to the left seems to have solved that problem. Disassembled it and messed around with the lock button. Now it seems to be working fine but I definitely wouldn't put my trust in this device.

Just found this might be an idea to very carefully drill a small in that steel wire and fix it down with a very small brass blot with a tiny brass washer.

From what i see in the video the piece you put under the metal plate looks like a piece of paper(normally foil is Grey /argent color and this is light brown /yellow). Maybe in your country foil has this color? So paper is not good enough and foil is much better?
Interesting ... I had one for a few month which I ended up selling again. It just went out after a couple of seconds as soon as it got hot. So perhaps it was just not properly tuned? (Thanks for the educational footage! 👌)
I had the same problem - would light OK, then go out after a few seconds. Taking the 'head' off (undoing the 2 outside screws on the sides) and sonicating it for 5 mins fixed it..🤙🏿😎

After watching this vid 3 times, THIS is what I feel he means….. You can use aluminum foil or ( as he did) you can use the paper off the FILTER end of a cigarette. I don’t smoke so I’ll use aluminum foil Good luck!!!
you could probably remove that child safety lock or just cut it off , well done but if i were you i would address the problem and it's most likely a clog somewhere either in the tank gas line or most likely in the nozzle that you could have cleaned through the hole with proper tool or if turning the gas pressure up was all you wanted to do you could have done that with a flat head screwdriver from the refill port valve on the bottom without having to open it up ,the lever flame adjustment is just a final fine adjustment so basically you could have done it easier and left the lever to factory setting
Is this still the problem with the TM2? Mine also performs not as good as in the first weeks anymore. But if so, why they didn't fix that? This electrical conductor looks pretty much like a tinker solution 😏
The design is different on the TM2. Instead of just using the pressure of the top against the wood, there's now a screw securing the "wire" to the metal top. It won't get loose unless you unscrew it. This is also why the TM2 has a different disassembly procedure. You have to unscrew the heater from the circuit board before you can take the top off. On a TM2, the tape on the bottom would not work, and possibly break things.
I have the lighter in the middle of your video it's been my most consistent but now it won't light. Can you message me to help me debunk? It has fuel and spark but I don't hear any fuel hiss when I press trigger. I've adjusted it all the way up and down not sure why it stopped
I used a scripto disposable lighter took the ignition out of it snd worked like a champ. These lighters are pretty basic I think I need to post a video on the maintenance on cleaning tye jets, replacing thevignition etc.
