Fuck! I had planned to drive 5k (and back) to a 20k race. And now, after watching Goggings, I'll have to run to the race instead. It starts in 40 minutes 😂
Thanks for the overview. I'm currently wearing LP's in wide. It's a shame they don't make the Olympus in wide. Yes, the Topo Ultraventure would be a good alternative. But it isn't available in my country :(
My Lone Peaks are my absolute favorite to. I wanna find some road shoes that I compares to them. I have torin but think they are to cuzzy. Is Escalante a lot softer?
Thx for this review and the explanations about minimal index. I'm running in Altra since some years (Escalante and Superior) and with my recent recovery... I discovered pain in the ankles and calves ;p so I'm going to add an Olympus to alternate with my other shoes!
People in military are extremely strong individuals, so don't compare yourself with Goggins. Only focus on the attitude of never giving up. Do what works best for you

The Navy Seals was his second choice.
It always made sense to me to vary your footstrike throughout the week. Not always loading the same muscles, joints and tendons day after day. Speedwork and tempos feel more natural to run up on the toes, zone 2 stuff feels easier landing back towards the heels, at least for me. Just make sure that if you're heel striking your shoes have plenty of heel cushioning - and try not to overstride
