We’re on a mission to help 1,000,000 vegans get into the best shape of their lives because we believe that the more healthy, fit vegans there are in the world, the faster veganism will spread. Let’s work together to inspire change, spread compassion, and challenge the status quo.
I really appreciate you showing how to be efficient in the kitchen while cooking. I didn’t grow up cooking at all and i struggle with efficiency and managing my time well while cooking. I do have extra time to spend but no point in wasting time unnecessarily. Pre cooked rice is crazy tho, it’s so easy to make rice in a rice cooker/ instapot everyday
I love Dr. Greger! He's such a smart, responsive, kind and funny person. I wish I could buy a tshirt with his face on it! Everyone needs to know about his research sharing and education. I wish someone would ask him what he treats himself to food wise...does he ever treat himself to something that isn't healthy? Thank you Dr. Greger I think you're awesome!
I loved this ! I won’t be vegan but I absolutely need to increase my plant intake I want to have a majority plant based diet with some poultry protein to hit my goals
Been a vegan for 10 years, I’ve used these exact products. The math here is incorrect. 4 cups of oatmeal, 4 tbsp of chia seeds, 4 tbsp of hemp seeds, 2 packs of seitan and 2 blocks of tofu doesn’t equal 120 grams of protein per day for 4 days. It’s like 85-95 grams of protein per day if spread out over 4 days
The math is correct. We inputted everything into Cronometer and did a nutrition breakdown at the end of this video. The full nutrition breakdown is on our website (link in bio). All plants have protein, so while you listed some of the higher protein foods, there’s a lot of protein in the foods you didn’t mention. The foods you mentioned (oats, chia seeds, hemp seeds, seitan, and tofu) all contain 75 grams per day. And all of the other foods contain 52.2 grams of protein per day. For example, the PBfit powdered peanut butter is 8 grams, the vanilla soy milk is 6 grams, and the 4 slices of Dave’s bread are 12 grams (per day). That’s just 3 other foods that you didn’t mention.
This is the first time I've come across your channel. Have you ever made the Native staple Three Sister Soup. It's corn, beans and squash. You can literally be creative with the combos and different types of corn beans and squash. Traditionally the three would be grown together bc they all benefited form each other when it came to how they grow. There is also a Native story about three sisters that goes along with it if you are interested, google got you, lol. It's a personal fave especially around the November Holiday as I am Native and vegan and don't participate in the typical colonial holiday practices. None the less it's so delicious, cost effective, easy and healthy.
Thank you so much for sharing this!! I definitely want to try the Three Sister Soup! That sounds amazing and I definitely want to read up on the Native story as well. Thanks again! 😃💚
Okra is yummy. I like to do stewed okra and tomatoes (usually use frozen okra for this one) can also add some yellow squash or zucchini, pickled okra, freeze dried crunchy snack, you can also often find breaded okra in the frozen section that you can toss in the air fryer. Can also do a vegan gumbo.
Let me start with how much I enjoy your channel. Your sweet silly ways make me laugh and I always come away with a little something. I think that since you’re already very healthy and have been eating a plant based diet for so long the daily dozen probably felt too restrictive in an already restrictive (Vegan) diet. I first discovered Dr Gregor’s daily dozen app 3 years ago when I was diagnosed with Leukemia and unfortunately eating a SAD diet. There’s a lot of cancer in my family and I knew I had to find another way than the traditional treatments. Every single family member that received cancer treatment sadly died soon after. At the age of 50 with everything to live for that wasn’t going to be my story. I’m an avid reader and quickly bought and read all of the big plant docs books from Greger to Fuhrman to Bulsiewicz and more. I told my oncologist that I was going to figure this out for myself with nutrition. The only thing I have ever allowed him to do is to draw blood every three months to monitor my progress. The daily dozen app for me was a godsend. When you’re ready to do anything to avoid chemo and there’s this simple little app with all this variety and these cute little rewarding boxes to check, it works it really does. Dr Greger even says in How Not To Die to use it to build some structure to your meals. Once you’re used to eating that way you won’t need it anymore. It was a wonderful tool to quickly figure out how to navigate this world of healthy eating that you already live in. I rarely look at the app anymore but for the first 6 months of this whole new lifestyle I checked my boxes daily and made my grocery lists from it. In case you’re wondering, yes 👏 my bloodwork is normal and I’m cancer free. My oncologist shared my story with his wife and he blames me because she’s now vegan, he is too but only at home 🤷🏻♀️
I’m definitely not a skeptic. I’m a baby vegan (got serious within last 6 months) I’ve noticed some muscle poking through within the last few months. It’s enough to start taking some creatine today. No health issues so far. I LOVE asking my family members “Hey I’m not crazy? You see this right?” They’ll say yes and point to the spots where I’m seeing definition. Guess we’re on our way to being diseased and dying early, am I right? I can’t help but feel smug when my dad has to take fiber supplements. Not an issue for me. I don’t see how malnutrition is an issue when every single food I reach for is packed with vitamins. I like your videos. I personally like using these as inspiration for future meals. Stay vegan strong 💪
For cooking Okra, I suggest looking up some Indian curry recipes In fact my favourite curry is my mother’s okra dish Tip: Indians call it lady finger, so change the name if you don’t find any good recipes
I have been hooked on your channel. Excited to have come across this low calorie but high protein meal plan ! Question- Did you end up not adding the yogurt to overnight oats ? I know your other preps usually include it, and it's in the line up. Lemme know 😊
hey this is fantabulous! I know such word doesn't exist! ;) As always I love your meal prep and you nailed it again this time. Just want to know what keeps you inspired for going to the gym everyday. I appreciate if you can make a video/short on that too please.
I always love your ideas and recipes! Have tried a bunch and liked them all. I do have a quick question though… The seitan I can find near me always has a lot of sodium. Do you know of any brands that are lower in sodium? Whether online or in store. Thanks
Thank you for the kind words! You may want to consider making your own homemade seitan. Here's a video where I show you one of my favorite recipes: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-r3ltvFlRFZI.htmlsi=z_a71eO6WOQLbWkW
Haha if you make the recipes from my most recent meal prep video, you'll get the chance to!! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9EGN4od9Zj4.htmlsi=1NPgigRLxugrLTw8
I can only get guacamole in 8oz or larger containers! Since I would only be using 4 Tbsp in a week, I think I'll skip it :( Or do you freeze the rest of it, or just throw it out, or what?
