If you added flour to mac n cheese sauce, it'd be to thicken it. However, I would not recommend because it would make the sauce grainy and have a weird raw flour taste. If you're making mac n cheese in the oven as a casserole (:D) the taste wouldn't be an issue, but it could still be grainy. It could also make the sauce glutenous (not sure if that's a word but spell check isn't coming after me so) and strechy like dough if stirred too much. If you wanna thicken your fake yellow cheese sauce I recommend something that fully dissolves like milk powder or gelatin, but milk powder would change the taste and gelatin is finicky. To be honest your best bet for thickening mac n cheese is to add less water and not mess it up in the first place. I have now met my daily quota for putting too much thought into random questions lol enjoy

@@nightingale_wing4053 You NEED to try casserole mac n cheese. My grandma makes it and it's AMAZING. I don't have a recipe to recommend cuz my grandma does it from a recipe she's altered over the years herself. At the very least try adjusting your box mac, I add some real cheese and melt it in there along with some onion powder, and my bro likes to add cayenne. Even if you don't add real cheese, adding a little bit of spice is an inexpensive way to make it 100 times better. Just experiment :) (And I know I'll get some cringes from this but I love putting in ketchup when that childhood nostalgia hits lol)

@@lydia5002 Ooh the spices sound like a really good idea (the cheese does too but lactose intolerance will come for me if I do) I never thought of adding spices before but it sounds perfect for me who is lazy when it comes to making food
