I started this channel when I got married and moved to New York. I started recreating recipes that I was taught by my mother as a way of keeping in touch with my West Indian roots. I was lucky to know my maternal grandparents (Ma and Nana) & great-grandparents (Ajee, Aja and Great-Grandma) and my paternal grandmother (Ajee) and I developed my love of cooking from them. Each dish tells a story or brings back a memory for me, and I love sharing it with you all.
I also showcase vlogs in New York, Texas and in Trinidad and Tobago whenever I visit.
The aim of this channel is to share the food and culture of Trinidad and Tobago with the rest of the world, as well as to preserve the traditions that were passed on in my family. I am so happy you’re here! Thank YOU for being on this journey with me!
I love that you didn’t use pumpkin. That’s how my mom made it. I’ve been looking for a recipe without pumpkin since she died. Could you please post the measurements?
Love your videos! When I add my baking soda, my channa color changes from beautiful yellow to to dark brown, but yours didn’t, can you tell me what I did wrong, I followed exactly as yours.
Hey love I absolutely enjoy your recipes, honestly I could watch a million videos on doubles and yours is the only one I follow also does my husband😂. Buttt can you do one on preparing geera neck and pork...pretty please..would so appreciate..much love.❤
Yummmmmmmmyyyyyyyy😋😋😋 I’m definitely going to have to make this Pelau!!! It looks Devine!! Reshmi, I see you have Kevin to cut up your meat for you, and explaining the cuts for us. That was super helpful. Anyway, have a good one, as always it was a pleasure watching you cook with LOVE!!!!🙏🏾🙏🏾🫶🏾🫶🏾
Yes please try it! I like mine on the wetter side so I add extra water. If you like it dry, add less water and cook on a low heat. Lol yes I like the way he cuts it so I just have him do it. Thanks so much for watching 🩷
❤️MashaAllah.. for u all❤️ Thnk u for such an indepth upload- appreciate ur time & efficiency🌺 Mr Kevin, what can I say. Even I want to chop chicken🥳 Ps; we think Mr K needs his own channel! He is super definitive with the cuts, very comprehensive/ logical with his explaining, & a natural. Stay blessed cute Trini- Fam💕
It's true, you don't get that time back that you spent being pregnant and raising your baby. I stopped working when I found out that I was pregnant because I know that stress really affects my health badly, so I chose my baby over work. I also chose to stay home with her when she was born snd growing because I have nobody to help me with her. My mother passed away a few years back, and I refused to leave my child with a stranger. People in my husband's family say that I am lazy and dont want to work. It's not that at all. I loved working, I just hate the idea of leaving my child. You are a great mother and Cruz will remember this time with you and will always feel secure because you are always there for him. Your time is the best gift that you can give that sweet, handsome little boy.
I am so glad to have a fellow Mama who understands 🙏🏽 I feel just like you, I can't leave him with a stranger. The only time I am away from him is when I go to the gym. I have given up on lots of opportunities in the last 3 years because he is more important right now. I can do those things after, but I'll never have this time again. You're doing a great job, and it will all be worth it in the end 🩷 Thanks for taking time to leave this message!
