I very much enjoy strumming, finger picking, and singing classic songs from the 60's, 70's, and 80's and even some of the more current songs. I've tried to cultivate a smooth, comfortable, pleasant style that hopefully compliments my enjoyment of singing. I never use a pick. I am not a great guitarist, and I don't use fancy riffs trying to emulate the original recording. I just try to interpret the song in my style in a pleasant and enjoyable manner. Most importantly, this is simply an enjoyable hobby, no money being made. I would very much welcome your views and comments. My email is mbrookbankbec@gmail.com
Enjoy your choice of music. We play a lot of the same things. Very nice playing and singing. Always like finding a fellow musician. New fan and new sub here. 👍🤠😎🎸🎼🎵🎶🎙👌🎹😊👍👏Enjoyed, liked and full listen. Keep doing what you love and keep posting. Cheers, Bruce AKA The Holden Beach Troubadour
Hello to the "Holden Beach Troubadour," thank you so much. What nice comments you have shared. I very much appreciate it. I will be sure to check out you site as well. Have a great day Bruce.
Thank you Lester. Much appreciated. And thanks for reminging me of Stonewall's version. Now that you mention it, I do remember him doing it years ago. Have a very nice day.
Hey Karen, always so nice to hear from you. Thanks for your great support and appreciation of my covering some of these great songs. Have a great day and see you soon.
Hello Mike. I like Lobo's music very much and this piece is no exception. Very nicely interpreted, my friend, enjoyed listening very much. All the best and have a great Sunday, Ludwig
Hi Ludwig. Thank you so much, and also, thank you for doing "This Magic Moment," and giving me credit for the inspiration. Ha! I just love your arrangements and beautiful guitar interpretations. Have a great day.
@williamoneill9573 Thanks William , sorry about not showing chords. Sometimes I forget. But I sure want to thank you for listening and invite you to subscribe and hear more. Have a nice day.
Lobo had some big hits back in the 1970's, and they were good songs. You perform this one with style! I like your rendition! Have a good weekend, my friend!
Thanks Robert, I played this the other night and my neigbor heard it. He never heard of Lobo but mentioned a version I never heard of from a coutry singer in the US back in the day called Stonewall Jackson. Have a nice day Robert.
Cindy Walker wrote some fine songs. I don't think I've heard this one before, even though I'm a big Willie Nelson fan, and I have several of his albums on CD. Another good song, and you cover it very well, Mike! Best wishes, my friend!
Hi Robert, I've been off the internet lately; trying to cut back a bit. You know, I had not heard this song either, but only discovered when I listened to the Album "The Songs Of Cindy Walker" and discoverd it as one of the cuts. That happens alot, finding great songs on Albums that were never a hit in their own right. Take care Robert.
Fantastic song my dear friend Willie... incredible theme... yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeah.... thanks for uploading!!!! greetings...!!!! impressive theme.... thank you so much for sharing....>>>>>>> yeeeeeeeeees...!!!! ✨✨✨✨✨✨👍👍
This is awesome, man. Helps me decide what song to learn this weekend. He closed with this song on his tour the last 2 years. May God continue to bless you. ✌️💙
What a beautiful song I hear here. Great lyrics ( I see you smile, at ' By the way did she ask you about me', héhé). Very nice singing and playing. Bravo Mike: like 12👍
Hello Joseph, your comments are always so nice to hear. I would agree about the lyrics. I've only become of aware of this song somewhat recently after listening to Willie's album cut. It was never a big hit, but I really do like the song. Have a great day my friend.
Same for me, Mike....my next video will be a cover of a song I just discovered not long time ago. A nice day to you too. ( here it's almost time to go to bed😀).
Wow! Great voice good introduction loved your video, excellent performance 👍👍👍👍👍❤❤❤ Like 11 I'm your 607 subscriber, all the beat for your beautiful channel! Take care and God bless!
Hello, I wanted to ask you a question, I wanted to use the song Hello Vietnam by Johnny Wright in one of my videos, however copyright did not allow me to publish it, so I looked for covers of this song and among all of them, yours seemed like the best and I was wondering If you could give me permission to use it in any of my videos
Glad you liked this one as well DB. Funny, you picked some of my older videos going back 3 years when I had a beard. My wife wanted me to shave it. I've recently covered both of these songs again that you can find on my channel. Thanks for listening.
Hello Mike. This is another very nice and inspiring oldie and you presented it beautifully with a lot of heart and soul. Enjoyed listening to your lovely rendition! All the best and have a nice rest of the week, Ludwig
Thanks Ludwigg, I much appreciate your nice compliments. I checked you site to see if by chance you have covered this song. Would be nice if you did. Ha! I very much enjoy your playing.
Why thank you so much Jeff. It is a great song from the 60s, a great decade for music as I am sure you agree. Have a great day and I will be listening to some of your covers as well.
I'd almost forgotten this song, Mike - haven't heard it in a long time. The Drifters made some good records, for sure, and Ben E King was a mighty fine singer. You do this song justice, my friend! Well done!
Thank you Robert. I don't know what it is about me but I sure to recall alot of songs with the old classic pattern of C,AM,F,G. Have a good day my friend.
Thank you for putting out such great music! I stumbled upon your page a few weeks ago, listening to "Hello Vietnam." I've been studying the Vietnam War and learning so much from my neighbor who served from Aug.1966-67. Thank you Mike for your service to our country and in case it was never said, Welcome Home! I look forward to your next cover!
Interesting, your neighbor and I were there at about the same time. I was from October 66 until October 67. Your neighbor may agree that the wasr was different then, with better officers and career soldiers left over from Korea and the better heyday of the Army. In the later 60s and 70s the war had less support, the antiwar movement begame stronger and the discipline was not as good. Many of the better veteran soldiers were no longer in the service. As I said in my comments before singing "Hello Vietnam," the war was better supported and thier was more patriotism when I was there. No so much later, the US abandoned the Vietnamese. It is so sad! Thanks again for listening and for enjoying some of my other music. It is much appreciated.
Great job, sir. I'm a huge Bob Dylan fan. I'm not particularly religious or spiritual, but this is one of my favorite songs. I often sing this song on my hikes. It's a good place for me to sing because I'm not the best singer. 😊 Peace and love from Atlanta.
Thank very much for your comments. It is great song, with very meaningful lyrics. What the song says has definitely had a meaningful spiritual impact in my life. I wish for you every blessing and keep singing.
@@mikebrookbankguitarvocals7322 I am actually going to play the song in church tomorrow. If I can do it anywhere close to as well as you, then I'll be happy!
Always loved John Prine. I've been singing this song for at least a decade, but I sing many of John's songs. Yes, he was a remarkable writer and performer. A good one, Mike!
