We are vlogging about our life with our adorable rescued birds - three crows Peach, Cherry and Maple and a talking magpie Pie. We have very many entertaining videos with them but we are also sharing with our viewers the information that we have learned from our Veterinary College, our local Wildlife rehabilitation, and numerous online resources in regards to feeding, healthcare, entertaining, as well as cleaning after these intelligent birds who have become highly valued members of our family. We are taking them to our longer holiday trips, as well as short day trips to the lake. We also have a German Shepherd Kassie and a cat Sammy who are occasionally making appearance on our channel. We hope you will enjoy our videos!

Very cool. Religious or not.. I believe we all have a creator of such majestic things like birds & animals .. Crows have always made their presence known in my life for some reason. In this cruel world when some would light up with gleee shooting or “plucking” these birds simply to kill em.. It really speaks on your character & what’s on the inside caring for these creatures. & I believe these birds know it as well. Very cool , thanks for the smile

Hi! Stumbled on your videos and looking for advice. My fiance and I found an injured crow down the road.. broken wing for sure. He’s hunkered down under an area with brush & small trees. We’re trying to avoid stressing him out but he has responded well to us bringing him a few offerings today of food and later on some water. I understand rehabs would likely euthanize since they won’t fully fly again. I also don’t want to leave it exposed to potential predators too long. We’d love tips on taking the crow in to heal and live its best life similar to yours, even if injured. How did you contain yours when you initially found them injured? Looking for least stress for the bird as possible.

I wonder if the heron thought his reflection was another heron, and he wanted it to get out of his space. Heron's like water, I know. When living in New York, they would stand in the creek alongside the property and watch for food.

In Florida people feed them. They migrate. They tap on the window to get your attention. He knows you feed birds. He wants something to eat. You can buy a can of sardines for a dollar and he will love it, or throw an egg outside. About the fox, he is out there at night, you just don't know it. He's there. I know .....about both. We have plenty of fox and bird friends. When it's deep snow or storms in the winter throw out eggs, hot dogs, raw chicken legs, for the fox. They are even grateful for an apple. Winters are extremely hard on wild animals. They will try to eat tree bark not to starve. All God's creatures.

Shalom Dennis and Kullike, wow very beautiful big Bird. Maybe He was hungry and wanted some food. Or wanted protection when there was a Fox. In Switzerland I loved to see the big white Swans and started to feed one then suddenly came another big Swan he started to make loud noises and was chasing me oi I screened and run away and he behind me running and chasing me. From that moment I started to keep myself away from there from the Lake when I saw them. It seemed he was angry at me. 🤔 Thanks for the video. ❤😊

Do not underestimate blue herons. They eat everything that they can swallow, and they can swallow much larger animals as you would expect. Rats, ducks, chickens, small crocks and alligators, fish, other birds. A single crow is no match for a blue heron. Maybe if the crows are in a large flock they might be able to over power a heron. But a single crow doesn't stand a single chance. There are some videos about hunting herons, you would be amazed to see what they can kill and swallow. They use their beak as a spear, and then they flip their head a few times so that the head from their prey goes in first. The heron is the biggest potential predator in my garden. And only because of the heron I have a frame with all the wires to protect the fish in my pond. The heron comes for the crows because he knows that it is an easy snack if he or she is able to reach the crows. They have experience with that from people who have chicken coups. 👍

I had no idea that a heron was such a predator. We have them here in the mid atlantic, but unusual to see them around people. They usually hang out around the rivers looking for fish. I have only also seen them by themselves, never with a mate. He probably was pecking at the door because he saw his reflection in the glass. I had a robin that would sit on my side view mirror of my car every morning. I have had blue jays pecking against my sliding door, I assume, thinking it is another blue jay. When I hear birds of any kind squawking, especily crows, I always go look because there is most likely a predator of some kind lurking around. It amazes me how they warn the other wildlife of danger. And speaking of not having your camera nearby, I wish that I had gotten video of the crow and little fawn playing in the field last week. So cute!
@insAneTunA
@insAneTunA 3 дня назад
@@uberurbana4894 Herons are true killers. I mean, the list of animals that they kill and eat is pretty much anything that fits and that they can catch. And this bird was most definitely trying to reach the crows. Herons are not confrontational with their own species. They rather avoid confrontation. They are not equipped for battles with there own species. Plus when they catch a prey they swallow the hole prey in one go, so usually there is no opportunity for other herons to steal food. They are very solitary birds. And it is easier and much safer to fly away and to try a different spot instead of risking getting injured. Normally birds fly away when there is a heron, unless they are breeding, I once watched a breeding blackbird chase a heron away from my garden with a lot of noise. And if the birds in my garden make a lot of noise it is usually a cat or a heron that is visiting my garden and causing the panic. The blackbirds have a very recognizable alarm call. In this case I strongly believe from what I know about these birds is that the heron must have noticed that the crows and the magpies are not able to fly away, so that is already a big trigger for a heron, because that is not normal, so for the heron that equals to a possible sick or injured bird, and a possible easy meal. They have no problem with trying if they can benefit from a possible easy opportunity. Ask any pond enthousiast. And it doesn't matter how small your pond is. If there is water with fish in it, it will be just a matter of time before a heron comes to visit the pond and try to catch and eat the fish. 👍

Hi Kullike and Dennis. Wow!! How lucky!! A Blue Heron right outside your house. Looks like he was pecking at something. Maybe he was hungry. Not looking for your birds. I had a young turkey in my backyard in southern Ontario, in June this year. I didn't know what it was at first. A big guy pecking at shelled unsalted peanuts by the back door. I was just about to go out in the backyard to fill the feeders when I stopped.. He was walking around the backyard back and forth checking things out for about an hour. I finally went outside. He saw me and flew onto the fence. He looked at me for a moment then flew off down the street. I didn't even know turkeys had much flight. I posted the pic on fb and was told it was a young turkey. They usually are found in southern Ontario hanging around London, Windsor area. Maybe he got lost from his flock. I felt sorry for him. The wildlife are losing their habitat due to development, but I hope more conservation areas are made for them. Nice capture of blue Heron on your video Dennis.

Happy Saturday, Kullike & Dennis & Furry & Feathered Family~ I just fed my wild crow (I call him Craw, or Craw-Craw). He is sipping the water, nibbling some egg and a little bit of coconut macaroon. He fluffs out his feathers and shakes then happily when I talk to him. He blinks lazily and enjoys perching on my balcony. Wow, about the blue heron. (I wonder if it ventured because it knew your crows could not get him. :) Those storky looking types are always fun to spot. I am from Hawaii… and there is a plush hotel, The Hilton Hawaiian Village… they have animals on display and a keeper of sorts… When you stroll around the extensive grounds, lavish with tropical gardens … there is an occasional bird or two that must be from the heron family. I mean… we are talking 3-4’ high! Almost as tall as I am (5’)! There is the wide walkway… the tea leaves and halyconias… and the bellboy rolling luggages toward a guest tower… And Then Came Maud! Heek. Kidding. M Then, like a hotel guest, comes this 3.5’ tall … storky herony thing. Just ambling. It is such a whimsical thing. I’m glad all of the animals are enjoying a nice summer day. Hope you are as well. ~With Aloha but near DC Caroline

Your critics don't understand the back story. You saved Peach's life when he was the sole survivor of a ransacked nest. You raised him and and tried to send him back to being a wild animal, It was obvious that he was imprinted and had no future as a wild crow. You realised that there were rescued corvids over all over Canada. You had the brains to understand that Crows and magpies are highly intelligent and social creatures and would benefit from living amongst their own kind. This is the best and only life these birds could live and they all look happy, healthy and content to me. They don't look like prisoners either. I've been visiting your site for many years and it has been an education to discover how intelligent and loveable corvids are. Ignore the trolls, you couldn't have done more to give these birds a happy life
