This has taken such a weight of my shoulders. I wake up with my mind buzzing with ideas and if i do just start creating i csn write so much . But ive not been doing this because of all the advise to do a morning walk (outside). Thank you rian
Serious question. If you’re waking up and getting right to work…. When do you poop, brush teeth, shower? Or is all that considered getting right to work?
None of what he said is realistic in practical terms. This is just motivational garbage. This guy has not ever gotten an actual full month's work done in 11 hours in real life, unless he didn't have any responsibilities in his life. Most knowledge workers do way more than 2+ hours of work in a day. This video is akin to semantics. Not real. Garbage.
hey guys, i know i'm kinda the point, but when he talked about the "in-between" moments, i thought about something. the streets i go through are fairly busy, and i typically listen to music the whole way to and from work. i feel like it helps me be focused on two things, (going to my destination, enjoying the music) instead of being distracted by all the things and people on the road. Do you think this might actually have a negative impact on my focus ability ?
The thumbnail is misleading: "DON'T SET GOALS". But the 44 minute video is all about setting goals. Now why would that be? You guys aren't trying to ride the success of Atomic Habits are you? The author James Clear specifically says NOT to set goals. I've watched several of your videos - your content is great. But your greasy thumbnail tactics cause me to question your motives and therefore your product. I might un-subscribe, I haven't decided yet.
This why for centuries these tasks have fallen on women, wives, mothers and the men have had the freedom to flourish and the women have struggled to keep their heads above water. Glad to see things changing.
The routine/ritual of caffeine prep and consumption is the priority of most of us. We must pray to the God of stimulation first thing. And add comments to a RU-vid video. LOL Great work, time to explore Rian's work output. Oh my, output, is that the goal? but...but...(back to work! or as the Devil says in a famous joke: "back on your heads!")
32:28 I think you said it wrong. Planning is the fast, intuitive because we are brain storming, while Doing is the slow analytical - since we are focusing our attention and effort on a specific task. In any case, I got so much from this one post. My first time ever hearing you speak! 🔥😎🔥Thank you!
I get it; I do that but; when I go to sleep; I focus the same way. I can't tell you about my results because it would take a couple hours. This tutorial resizzled me. LOL. Thanks! Charles/Chuck in San Diego, Ca. Blessings.
I'll save majority even more than the 40 minutes from watching this. 1. This video is part inspirational story, part useful advice, and then 30% ("I'm successful, and you can be like me too if you do what I say") grfit. 2. The beginning of this video resonated with me personally, but lost me @14:01 when he starts with the "Dream big and the resources will follow" typical priviledged guy spiel. A quick Chat GPT inquirey revealed the fact that he's the son of already successful parents and how he got into prestigious academy at an early age that put his trajectory of higher attaiment than the rest of us. 3.The most insidious part was the obvious omission that Yes, more ambigious people achieve more success, but they usually achieve more failure. *This is by design.* Already successful people understand we live in a zero-sum game so monetizing their own success isn't enough for them. it's important that sprinkle in enough *bad advice so that most of you will FAIL* and anybody that has watched enough self-help videos can figure out it's the same grift every time. "If you fail it's because didn't work hard enough" that guarantees mental health problems for the user in the future, which leads to more failures, and coming back here for more ultimately bad advice made palettable with useful facts.
One tweak to this is not ending your research based on time but based on clarity, it could take two years to achieve a monthly goal as long as it's a critical step in your ladder to your ultimate goal 😊
@riandoris Thanks for the goal stack roadmap link :) do you have any specific apps or tools designed for goal/strategy setting? There are loads out there, any you would recommend?
I know So Many Of Us Were Waiting For Such Information To Land Into Our Minds And Resonate With Our Hearts... Personally, this seems like the final peace to the puzzle i've been trying to solve in my chaotic mind. THIS IS GOLD, AND SHOULD BE TAUGHT FOR EVERYONE FROM EARLY AGE
Great video rian! This is the first video I've seen on dopamine that actually made sense to me and I'm actively trying to implement. I'm in the middle of my "detox" week experiment and it's going great. One thing I noticed is that the more the week progresses, the more my mind starts having racing thoughts, which become more and more frequent, especially in the boring breaks. is this a normal side-effect that will disappear with time? or is this something that might ruin or delay my dopamine desensitization? would love some general advice on how to tackle this. (currently my strategy is to find 1 point of focus within the task that I can focus on to reduce the thoughts. considering a task like "eating" for example, it is quite general and I've nothing specific to hone in on, so I try to pick something like focusing on smell, texture, etc.)
the problem is the goals turn out to change: so you have to adjust your goals in time or in content. every entrepeneur will have to adjust to changing times. So then it is sailing at changing winds but still keep direction. To determin when you loose track and when you are rightfully adjusting your goal for the bigger goal. It is easy to get lost in that. But with intrinsic goals you can figure out what is worth taking detours for or when one yhing doesnt work still plough through via another way. or what is a sidetrack distraction. so we constantly level up to see the overview and say goodbye to goals that arent working.
You can choose your purpose and still be wrong. Purpose is Devily ordained, you dont get purpose from your own strength or choosing. Purpose is chosen, an often when its given to you, you dont want it because it's not what you thought youd ever choose, but you must because its your purpose. Or you can run from it but it will always chase you down until you pick it up and choose it.
Plan first, then start. The hardest part is always to make a start. Build momentum. As the speaker says, be flexible, but mk dful of the goal. Deviation from goals, course correction. Anyone riding dirt bikes will soon learn that concept and readily understand the point. Which is why it "resonates". ☺️🙋
