Here I talk about new music, very old music, the music industry and what's going in the world of rock and roll in general. We're doing this together and I love it.
I'm older...57...and I love this kid. Although his style isn't my norm, the stories he tells are amazingly relatable. Back in the day, Pink Floyd's The Wall was easily my favorite. So I see some of that in his work. The mental path they both follow. Not that he imitates at all, just that same vein. Well wishes for him in his career and in his health. Great interview. He seems so authentic in a fake world. I'm a fan.
I saw king gizz live a couple of weeks back in Liverpool at the Olympia and you were right, they play Gilla Monster and it did infact kick ass, nothing but a huge moshpit - was a great song to end on every loved it, one of the greatest gigs I think I will ever attend, calling it now... There's a reason my drummer happily drives up and down the country to every one of their shows when they play live, cause they never play the same set twice.
Absolutely great band, I don’t really hear the ACDC comparison until they get to the blues breakdown and that’s all Angus! Anyhow Cals one of the best frontman in the world imo great voice, great guitar and all on show. They really should have an international appeal, let’s see.
I remember everyone was arguing about if radiohead were any good during that bends era..and then they heard the first song of ok computer...and the argument died.
Sigur Rós are very introvert and weren't used to interviews at the time. And this interviewers goes between leading questions like "you guys are experimental, did you want that?" and extremely generalized questions such as "how do you create a song". They will either find it hard to answer or consider a laconic answer to be appropriate. People throwing shade at them and calling them arrogant over this is pretty shitty. They aren't obliged to please anyone. They make music for themselves, share it with people and people hear it if they want to.
Have you checked out Full Flower Moon Band from here in Brisbane-town in a land down under? They were just over there doing their first overseas tour. I think they're a great band.
They are good, real good, ive given it a thought and maybe, probably, the last great US rock band...Father of the Bride was great and this last one is really good too...Capricorn was good, but the last one cant remember the name was magnificent, as was that odd rocker of an opener Ice Cream Piano
Kind of indirectly related to the video, I always thought this guy from Prison Break could play Alice Cooper with the makeup. Cool to see him involved in a song
I guess your family has musical genes if you're using your uncle's guitar. Also, loving your light hair. It looks very natural. You were naturally fairer back in the old days weren't you x
Peter has been a big deal in metal for decades, but the only Pain song that has ever stuck with me is 'Suicide Machine'. Excellent emergency production on this video ❤
A lovely location, thank you! Not enough orangeries in this neck of the woods, maybe that is because of the weather? I think Summer was last Saturday this year, in Northern England...
I have loved him from the start! Paolo Nutini that is... I have listened to alot of very old school Rag Time Jazz... And his voice reminds me of some of those old ladies singing it. In the start that is. And I have allways been sorry for not ever been able to hear in live in concert and then I found Nutini... Tomorrow I am going to my first live concert with Paolo Nutini and the best girl I ever had is by my side! I cant count how many awesome singers she have been finding concert to for my Birthday... I am over the moon of joy for tomorrow! I just hope Nutini have one of those magical days!<3
I saw you play at Sweden Rock Festival yesterday. And I also saw you the time you played there before 😄 Great show(s)! Also, I live in Sölvesborg. Unfortunately I missed the Pain concert...
I really laughed with the pick part. As a guitarist I can totally relate, I have a technique to get it out faster, I'll make a tutorial video for it,, (nah) hehe. Good video as usual Justin, greetins mate!
That dude was great as satan in constantine, really solid job. This is like phyidgian/dorian (i can never remember) pop, bit kinda evil tone, dunno if id call their metal "death" its more euro metal. Lol @ this edit, very funny.....and yea that guit is crispy, your uncle needs to take that off you coz he's gonna lose it 🤣
This is probably the worst take in the world.. Honestly even mentioning plini... He isn't even the most technical player there is, he's much more emotional than many other prog guitarists... Seriously come on grandpa
Jesus... it's like ... grocery store music. I think I hate it. This is hte first time I've ever bothered because all the hyperbole annoyed me and I don't like the look and figured it might sound.... well.... exactly like this.
