OMG you tutorials are great and its for free as well, which in Houdini universe is so rare. You definitely deserve more recognition and thank you for your work you doing here :). And I hope for more ;)
Perfect... Just what I want as looking for only 3 videos after my previous comment. So with me transitioning from max and vray where I use gpu rendering, does houdinis native engine work with gpu rendering, and roughly how long did each frame of this particular project take to render and on a hat card or cpu? Can't wait to get over to the patreon and start my houdini journey
Karma XPU uses GPU and CPU. I don’t remember the exact render time, but it’s pretty fast if you have a decent graphics card. This course should cover a lot of what you are searching for 👍
@@graphicINmotion perfect, cpu is 7950x and gpu for now is 3080 (adding more later if houdini supports multiple gpus) so should be good enough, I'm going to get the houdini trial this week, get a feel for it then hop onto the paid patreon, I wish I'd have made the jump sooner!!
I see you have a Maschine Studio behind you there!! I'm also a Maschine / Kontakt / Cubase user!! I'm just about to make the transition from max to houdini and looking for tutorials, mainly on particle physics and fluid sims but mainly geared towards making visualisations for my music... if you have any tutorials which are geared or could be geared to react to audio I'd be more than grateful as I have a lot of learning and adjusting ahead of me. Subbed :)
I am just stsrting to learn this software , this is the first tutorial which have watched. Its in very detsils with good speed , could you guide which more things are needed to make the visuals as yours in the thb nail?
I was trying this with a black hole but that seemed too early for AI to tell me how to do it. I wanted to get something similar like the black hole scene from Eternals and even go beyond with other ideas involving a black hole. As you stated even with me giving it more information it wasn't ready.
Maybe helpful: Instead of painting the attribute all over again, I just did Undo until edge was back and used an Attribute Rename to name it restscale. Super quick.
13 years and he didn't hit the 100K subs!? People help this man! His content is super cool and very well teached! Thank you Roland for all this Years of goodness 🙏☺️
Hi, thanks for this. This is a great technique, I would normally try using a vellum constraint property in the solver and then bring in the mops falloff and use that to adjust the restscale or restlength - the problem I always have is finding the exact settings to get the inflation to work - lots of frustration and retries when it doesn't inflate the way I want. Whereas this stopped method means can get the look of the inflation first just by adjusting settings in the cloth and pressure then use the stopped animation to animate it coming on.
Additionally I often animate the restscale of the pressure in the beginning of the inflation transition using a constraint properties for even more control.
This is a fantastic tutorial, thank you for sharing. I was wondering what is the alterative setup for if I was unable to install MOPs due to strong IT setup?
Thank you! You could use the "pyro source spread" node for example. You need to group a few starting points. Create a temperature attribute with a value of 1on these points. Then set up the source spread. You can then use the temperature attribute exactly as I use my "activate" attribute.
Hey i had a question, instead of doing it here can it be done inside c4d itself? Like lets say i add the 2d text in c4d and add the elements there and render out the whole transparent scene and bring it in AE will it work? Im actually new to 3d stuff so trying to simplify things as this depth map thing is a lil complicated for me
Yes it works, but then you won’t be able to change the text in AE. The only reason to use this technique is to be able to add text and design elements in After Effects.
Man you are really doing great stuff! I followed your after effects tutorials years ago when i learned AE and now i get knowledge for Houdini from you! Thats pretty cool🎉 thank you man! Grüße aus dem Norden 😊
Please can anyone help me? I am not sure what I am doing wrong. Everything seems to be fine until the part where I need to export the cloner. I have all the lights as in the tutorial but, when I import the exported cloner, I have only three lights, there are no other lights. Does anyone know why is it so? Thank you!
@@graphicINmotion Checked numerous times and still the same. Lights checked, Selection only checked, Tracks checked, Bake All Frames checked. The only thing that is not the same as in your tutorial is in Geometry section. In my version of Cinema 4d I can't uncheck Subdivision Surface, instead of that, I can choose from the menu Generator (which is now) Cage only or Baked...
@@DavidovicB that sounds alright. Difficult to analyze. Maybe something changed in C4D. You could try to just bake the lights without fbx export. Just bake all light layers and import the C4D file to AE and extract the scene data.
Yes. I have a tutorial that shows how to make the assets yourself. So you can follow along without paying anything. But creating tutorials is a very time consuming task. First you have to learn yourself to gain knowledge and you have to be able to explain that knowledge. Then you have to create a project for the tutorial, create the assets, record the tutorial (often multiple times to get it right), edit the tutorial, publish and promote the tutorial. The whole process can take a few days, even weeks sometimes. So I think it’s legitimate to put some assets or even some tutorials behind paywalls. But there are a lot of tutorials on my channel that are totally free. If you want to support my channel and help me create educational content in the future, I invite you to buy the tutorial assets. But you are also welcome to just watch the tutorial and learn for free.
