On my 24 Tacoma TRD Sport with the JBL system and the EQ all at the factory position has the a rattle/vibration on the passenger side door panel. The rattle/vibration comes from the right behind part on the panel that says TRD. No its not me putting the radio too loud, so its not that. Anyone else have that problem? Havent taken it to the dealer yet.
1. how do you have 20.2 MPG? How do you drive? Where at? 2. Why does your controls/knobs for your A/C have the temp on the knob itself? Mine does not have that and I have a 24’ Tacoma Off Road aswell…
I bought my 2023 TRD OR ACLB in Jan 2024, I am now wishing I had gotten the Double Cab Short Bed so I could use it to drive Lyft. I have to swap with my Dad and drive his 2017 SR DCSB Tacoma.
The husky liners are awesome for this truck. Cheaper than the weather tech ones too. They’re good. Front and rear mats fit like a glove, and they have two options one is just like the weather tech material and the other is a softer rubber like the OEM rubber mats
Best explanation on the use of the speaker I have seen yet. What does the far left top button do that kind of looks like the speakers shape? Also, how does it work when you plug it back in the truck? Does it automatically connect to truck?
Thanks! The far left button is a link or connect button to connect to other JBL speakers. Yes it connect to the system automatically when installed into it's dock.
I purposefully bought a 23 Tacoma TRD Off Road, double cab, 6’ bed with the Premium and Technology pkgs. I wanted the tried and true Reliable and Durable Naturally Aspirated 3.5L V6. I’ve added the OTT and a cold air intake. My TRD now has 318 horsepower and 295 lbs ft of torque at 2,300 RPM. We were wanting to wait until 26-28 of the redesigned Tacoma until I found out that Toyota was dropping the N/A V6 and installing the 4cyl Turbo. At my age and the low mileage I drive each year, my 23 TRD will be the Last truck I’ll ever have to buy.
We have had our Family Safe Shelter for almost ten years now. It IS the very best money we have ever spent! We live in Oklahoma, And it is almost a requirement to have one for your family’s safety! Talk to Family Safe before you buy!
Unfortunately, It just boils down to the power plant; i.e. the 4-cylinder turbocharged/turbocruncher engine. You just can't feel good about a small engine with the increased reliability and maintenance problems of a turbocharger crammed into a heavier/beefier chassis. You can argue til hell freezes over that Toyota has proven this engine in other vehicles and that they've been using turbocharged technology for years but this new engine will never be as reliable and dependable compared to the V6 2GR-FKS engine. And also, this new engine will be overstrained and overworked in the short and long term which will result in increased engine/turbocharger failure. True, the outgoing V6 engine is not the best designed V6 on the planet but it is by far, will outlast, outperform (long-term), and out function ANY turbocharged power plant.
Owned a 2019 for 44K miles. Never again. I have no idea what people see in these things. Mine was an unscheduled maintenance nightmare. I’ll never own another.
First off.... We are practically neighbors. I have a '19 pro. I did the OTT a little over a year ago and it made my truck drive like a whole new vehicle. It's definitely worth it. Last note... The wireless charger in the 3rd gen has always been garbage. I do use wireless charging everywhere except in my truck.
You say there's $10K worth of upgrades. Do you really believe their cost is 10K more? If so, you need to learn something about manufacturing and buying in bulk. Next, you say no big deal it's made in Mexico. They pay the Mexicans an equivalent of $2.80 an hour and jump the cost up about 15K on the TRD Pro. On average, the line is about 10K up. So they cheat the Mexicans, they stole American jobs and you brag about how its worth it.
I think from your comments, you will have this thing gone before the 3 yr/36,000 mile warranty period is gone. It being a 4 banger with the turbos on it will prove to not be reliable so you will shed this before the warranty period.
I picked up my Sport Premium 5 days ago . LOVE IT. Yeah, it was 55k, worth every penny . I pretty much agree with you on all of the kudos, and zonks. These are awesome trucks. All of the whiners can whine all they want. I have a 3rd gen that I will keep. Addressing the hybrid. I owned a 21 Lincoln Aviator with the hybrid. All the government folks want everyone to go EV or hybrid . What they don’t tell you is that when you go to register the vehicle , they add a surcharge to the annual renewal . The surcharge on my Lincoln was $90. The surcharge is because you don’t pay the tax at the pump because of the electric motor. That just flat made me mad. I am a 100% disabled Vet and my tags are supposed to cost me $6/year. When I saw the surcharge I just lost it. That plus the average life expectancy of a EV/hybrid battery is around 4-6 years . When you go to replace it you have to pretty much buy a new vehicle . You do what you feel is best. Yes the hybrid ups your horsepower and torque , a lot, but the surcharge was a surprise.
Congrats on your new truck! Regarding the hybrid, going to wait a bit to see how it works out. I definitely want to see estimates on the battery life etc. Thanks for the info!
Agree with all sentiments except the life expectancy of EV / Hybrid batteries. Where do you get 4-6 years from? Most 1st gen Tesla Model S's are still on the road 12+ years later. Ford warranty's the battery on the Lightning to 8 years or 100,00o miles, and that's just the warranty period. They should go well beyond that, at least I hope so.
Ive had my 24 TRD OF premium package for 4500 miles so far and love everything about it. ya it has a 4 cylinder engine and its easy to just call it crap, but man do I have fun driving it. Love the sport mode and how responsive it is.
The sport mode is really responsive! It is easy to criticize what you haven’t tried yet. Very few who I have heard that have test driven the 4th gen don’t like it.
Used 2023 Tacoma for about $40k and new 2024 Tacoma for a high trim, $50k. Hard to save money buying a used Toyota, so maybe I can get my value letter selling my new truck down the line
Ive also driven both. Own the 4th gen. Multiple family member own the 3rd gen. There’s nothing wrong with the 3rd gen, for me personally the 4th gen just feels better. Maybe I’m biased, but I wouldn’t have bought it if I didn’t think it felt better. Engine feels awesome. I was bothered at first by the 4 cylinder but once I drove it my whole opinion changed.
@@mattheinbaugh46 It’s cool that the 4th gen werks for you. I went in when I test drove a 4th gen Tacoma trd off-road (premium packaged) with the optimistic mindset of considering trading my “paid for” 2022 trd pro Tacoma for the re-design however other than the low end torque, I felt it was no more powerful than my current 2GR-FKS engine and also unfortunately noticed how cheap the interior plastics were and overall, how hurried and rushed the appearance of the truck felt. Again, glad you love yours but I think I’ll wait til either I wear out my current 3rd gen or wait til Toyota comes out with the 5th gen; whenever that might be.😳
@@planoman0935 local dealer here in Wisconsin. I sat in it and really felt cramped inside. To many gadgets for my taste and I don’t really live where I could use the truck for what it was designed for. There a lot of raptors here but all are pavement princesses.
@@Mjr1348 Were you shocked to see the prices down here in Dallas? My off road is a pavement princess as well. Unless a wreck in the interstate and everyone starts going to the feeder roads! 😂
