Kidding! New Color Option for the Tesla Model Y Performance available now if interested! Love my Tacoma but as a TSLA shareholder...buy up those Texas made Model Y's!!!
I bought a 2022 model. Just a few comments. Your trading a truck for something that's kind of like a SUV so that's not really a comparison I suppose the performance might be fun but it also gets less range. In reality I find that mine gets 270 on a charge in the summer but can drop to 200 in the winter. Also if you are running sentry mode I've seen it drop over 10% in just 4 hours of being parked. Their features do get worse and sometimes improve. Sentry for example will give me over 100 events after just a few hours of being parked. This seemed to start after a recent update and no Tesla service is likely going to address it since it's a problem with the latest software. After almost 2 years of ownership the drive train has been great but everything else about the cars quality seems to be poor. I've had 10 service appointments since I bought it. The wiper fluid wasn't hooked up out of the factory, the steering wheel had a cosmetic defect, rattling, camera errors, USB game controllers didn't work, and the latest is water intrusion that I'm on my 3rd appointment for because they've failed to fix it on the last 2. Tecla's are really bad for this thanks to their poor fit and finish design. Super charger network is great but I did a road trip from CO to TX last Nov and after getting back did the math only to find that superchargers cost me just as much as gas would have at the time plus you get the added benefit of having to wait 50 min per charge 6 times along the trip. Gas was 2.70 at that time. I would never take one on a road trip again. Elon got greedy with the supercharging. All of this said, it's still a fun car to drive but I would never have it as my primary car. We have a Toyota Highlander for road trips and I drive the Tesla around town. It makes a great second car. I know you are excited about getting it as I was. However, I hope my experience will provide you with food for thought. Enjoy it. It's a fun car to drive.
I was kidding about trading my truck! Keeping my Tacoma! I may look at the Model Y after the refresh. Would not mind having a Model Y for in town to zip around in but would always keep my Taco! I have said I would never get one until they had silver! I think it looks great and to have another color Model Y on the road!
