'My pack is a bit heavy because i'm carrying 8 days food'....good grief....I know this vid is 4 years old but, for anyone thinking of visiting the Outer Hebrides, please be aware that THEY HAVE SHOPS.
@PaulWillcocks
@PaulWillcocks 7 месяцев назад
Hi David, thanks for your comment. Like you say this video is 4 years old and there might well be more shops on the islands now but when I hiked the Hebridean Way shops were very scarce on the actual route. A couple of time I left the route to visit a shop but only to find that the shop closed a 12 midday and I arrived at the shop at 12:30 which was annoying. Also any provisions that I was able to purchase from a shop was not hiker friendly, like canned foods. Have you hiked the Hebridean Way recently?

I have just bought a load of new kit, and was wondering. Did you take both the microfleece and the puffy jacket? I seen you packed the puffy, but not the fleece. Thanks in advance

Yes I did take both. I wore the fleece most days at some point, you can see me wearing it in most of my WHW videos.

Hi Paul great video can I just ask was it easy to navigate Ive heard people say the trail is not well signed how did you find it?

In places it isn't very well signed. Every trail I hike I always have my GPS with OS maps and the route preloaded.
@ThirdDegreeWitchExplores

Great series , loved it ..i've just bought the Os maps after seeing this..... question though....i can only save my route as a .GPX file.. how do you save it as a video file ,? , also my fly though appears foggy , how to rid myself of this ?
@PaulWillcocks
@PaulWillcocks Год назад
Thanks for your comment but I'm a little confused by your questions, I will try to answer anyway. When you download a file for the OS app it will be a .GPX file. My map fly though section of this video was recorded on my computer and I think to stop the foggy look it could be either your internet connection speed or the graphics rendering power of your computer that is lacking. Hope this helps.

I know this video was 2 years ago but I did this last year and the 'eco campsite' is atrocious, your lucky you didn't meet the owner, he is awful...I was threatened by him and his 'boys' because I asked for water before I ordered coffee or cake...sat at table with my friend who arrived before me and was threatened with assault by the staff over water. Place and people are a disgrace

If you are referring to the national 3 peak challenge then this is easier, I used OS maps on my phone to navigate and although it's fairly easy to find your way I would definitely recommend using something GPS or map and compass.
