You still liking this setup? Im about to make the plunge on a budget brake setup. And this one and the c5 caliper style is what I'm looking at... i like how i can utilize the calipers i already have with the range.
I know this probably a dumb question but how do people fit those "cobra" front bumpers on there cause the grill style in the middle is different I'm looking at getting one but idk how they get it to fit
Nice job. I ordered the kit from rang industries I couldn’t get the brake pads and caliper to close down for nothing. The rotors are so thick the caliper won’t slide on with the brakes I’m lost. I’m so disappointed smh

It's most likely had It's original 244 motor replaced with the 251 which with a small bit of attention the 251 can be made fairly reliable in today's unhurried transportation environment working short-lines like this RS-1 is doing here . . . 👍 ⚡ 👍
@@Socoolds455 Cool, instead of the 244 I meant the 539T. Alco actually built a 6cyl. 251 is what I was trying to say for some reason I must have had a senor moment lol . . . I think the 6-539T if was kept within maintenance schedules they were quite reliable, it's when they were abused maintenance wise the engine developed problems most likely in it's cam and crank beings causing premature engine failures. I really like the 539T and think it's a fine engine, just needs to be handled with a correct maintenance program. Would have loved to had the chance as I'm a mechanic to have had the chance to work on these big ol 4 Stroke diesels, I've always been in awe of big horse power. The naturally aspirated V-16 2-stroke 567 EMD engine has always got my attention as I love the way the big EMD comes online making it's horse power also. As a matter a fact all the big 2-stroke EMD's from the 6-cyl. SW1 engine all the way to the SD45 20-cyl. Engine and also their 710 engines. I've been an Alco guy my whole life but it's hard not to like the EMD's offerings also. Thanks for correcting me here on this one 👍 ⚡ 👍
@@DustinLeopard-wc3ez it wasn’t all purchased at once, but somewhere in the range of $2500-3000 QA1 front coil overs, QA1 rear adjustables, Roush GT500 1/2” lowering springs, ADTR front and rear sway bars, Massive Speed System Comp series upper and lower control arms and Watts link arms. I don’t think I missed anything…
This is so cool since I just got to see this railroad in May passing through mason city and clear lake but it was the weekend and they weren’t operating but I got plenty of photos. I guess they are louder than I thought they would be too.
The black trim is just vinyl strip over the factory stuff, the taillights are just smoked crown vic housings from eBay, and the trunk facia was a NOS piece for a police interceptor. I converted it because I never really liked the big MGM rear reflector, but you could also just paint the reflector for a lot less work lol.
I don't remember wire colors, but I traced the wires, and anything to do with the seat rail itself (front/back/tilt) I kept, and anything for the seat back (recline) I snipped.

@@WarriorOfEden3033 are you asking me if I want one? Or if you can put one of those on these cars? If it’s the latter, you can put anything on these cars with enough cutting and hacking lol
So, I do a lot of my own work on the car, cams was not one of them lol. I didn't have the time or tools to do it myself, I had a friend do it at his shop. My situation was a bit different though, my custom grind from Todd Warren is high lift, so I did cams, springs, valve guides, and a new Ford Racing timing set all at once, I'm glad (although expensive) that I had an experienced shop do it. The mufflers are "Total Flow" from eBay, I wouldn't recommend though, I blew out the fiberglass internals within like 3 AutoX events. I've since moved on to NASCAR style boom tubes.
Modified factory rails, yes. The idea was to keep as many power functions as possible. The factory seat back integrates with the rails so it's impossible not to modify them.
Nice evidence of bearing axle updates over the years lol. When they switched it over to tapered roller bearing sealed axles they left the old bearing boxes and just removed the lids lol.

So, I made a mistake in the video, it's actually an Auburn Pro Series limited slip. I really enjoy it and has held up to the additional abuse now that the car is much more heavily modified. They're not cheap, but definitely worth the money!
Did you spray paint the body trim black or what did you do? I was thinking about trying to get rid of the chrome accents on mine and wondering what’s the best method
Why didn’t you put Borla exhaust? They tend to provide the deep throaty sound Ford is notorious for. Sounds great! How much does it cost to convert? I have an 2004 with only 65,000 miles on it, bought it in Florida some 12 years ago with only 39,000 miles. It’s my cruise car so it doesn’t get much use.
Borla sounds the best routed out the back, and I can no longer run over the axle pipe with my suspension components, I ditched the cheap mufflers and now the car has NASCAR style boom tubes. I'll probably run a pair of Black Widow "Widowmakers" ahead of the boom tubes because the car is too loud now lol. This was about $1500 in parts, and $3K in labor, but keep in mind, I did an upgraded timing set, cams, springs, and valve seals.
